Jeremiah 26:4-24
4And you will sayH559 to them, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, “1IfH518 you will not listenH8085 to Me, to 2walkH1980 in My lawH8451 whichH834 I have setH5414 beforeH6440 you, 5to listenH8085 to the wordsH1697 of 3My servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, whomH834 I have been sendingH7971 to you 4againH7925 and againH7971, but you have not listenedH8085; 6then I will makeH5414 thisH2088 houseH1004 like 5ShilohH7887, and thisH2088 cityH5892 I will makeH5414 a 6curseH7045 to allH3605 the nationsH1471 of the earthH776.”’”
7The 7priestsH3548 and the prophetsH5030 and allH3605 the peopleH5971 heardH8085 JeremiahH3414 speakingH1696 theseH428 wordsH1697 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068. 8When JeremiahH3414 finishedH3615 speakingH1696 allH3605 that the LordH3068 had commandedH6680 him to speakH1696 to allH3605 the peopleH5971, the priestsH3548 and the prophetsH5030 and allH3605 the peopleH5971 seizedH8610 him, sayingH559, “8You mustH4191 dieH4191! 9WhyH4069 have you prophesiedH5012 in the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 sayingH559, ‘ThisH2088 houseH1004 will be like ShilohH7887 and thisH2088 cityH5892 will be 9desolateH2717, withoutH369 inhabitantH3427’?” And 10allH3605 the peopleH5971 gatheredH6950 aboutH413 JeremiahH3414 in the houseH1004 of the LordH3068.
10When the 11officialsH8269 of JudahH3063 heardH8085 theseH428 thingsH1697, they cameH5927 up from the king’sH4428 houseH1004 to the houseH1004 of the LordH3068 and satH3427 in the 12entranceH6607 of the NewH2319 GateH8179 of the Lord’sH3068 house. 11Then the priestsH3548 and the prophetsH5030 13spokeH559 to the officialsH8269 and to allH3605 the peopleH5971, sayingH559, “A 14deathH4194 sentenceH4941 for thisH2088 manH376! For he has prophesiedH5012 15againstH413 thisH2088 cityH5892 as you have heardH8085 in your hearingH241.”
12Then JeremiahH3414 spokeH559 to allH3605 the officialsH8269 and to allH3605 the peopleH5971, sayingH559, “16The LordH3068 sentH7971 me to prophesyH5012 againstH413 thisH2088 houseH1004 and againstH413 thisH2088 cityH5892 allH3605 the wordsH1697 that you have heardH8085. 13NowH6258 therefore 17amendH3190 your waysH1870 and your deedsH4611 and obeyH8085 the voiceH6963 of the LordH3068 your GodH430; and the LordH3068 will 18changeH5162 His mindH5162 aboutH413 the misfortuneH7463 whichH834 He has pronouncedH1696 againstH5921 you. 14But as for me, beholdH2009, 19I am in your handsH3027; doH6213 with me as is goodH2896 and rightH3477 in your sightH5869. 15OnlyH389 knowH3045 for certainH3045 that ifH518 you putH4191 me to deathH4191, you will bringH5414 20innocentH5355 bloodH1818 on yourselves, and on thisH2088 cityH5892 and on its inhabitantsH3427; for trulyH571 the LordH3068 has sentH7971 me to you to speakH1696 allH3605 theseH428 wordsH1697 in your hearingH241.”
16Then the officialsH8269 and allH3605 the peopleH5971 21saidH559 to the priestsH3548 and to the prophetsH5030, “NoH369 22deathH4194 sentenceH4941 for thisH2088 manH376! For he has spokenH1696 to us in the nameH8034 of the LordH3068 our GodH430.” 17Then 23someH376 of the eldersH2205 of the landH776 roseH6965 up and spokeH559 to allH3605 the assemblyH6951 of the peopleH5971, sayingH559, 18“2425MicahH4318 of MoreshethH4183 prophesiedH5012 in the daysH3117 of HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063; and he spokeH559 to allH3605 the peopleH5971 of JudahH3063, sayingH559, ‘ThusH3541 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 has saidH559, “26ZionH6726 will be plowedH2790 as a fieldH7704, And JerusalemH3389 will becomeH1961 ruinsH5856, And the 27mountainH2022 of the houseH1004 as the 28highH1116 placesH1116 of a forestH3293.”’ 19Did HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 and allH3605 JudahH3063 putH4191 him to deathH4191? Did he not 29fearH3372 the LordH3068 and entreatH2470 the favorH6440 of the LordH3068, and 30the LordH3068 31changedH5162 His mindH5162 aboutH413 the misfortuneH7463 whichH834 He had pronouncedH1696 againstH5921 them? But we are 32committingH6213 a greatH1419 evilH7463 againstH5921 ourselvesH5315.”
20IndeedH1571, there was alsoH1571 a manH376 who prophesiedH5012 in the nameH8034 of the LordH3068, UriahH223 the sonH1121 of ShemaiahH8098 from 33Kiriath-jearimH7157; and he prophesiedH5012 againstH5921 thisH2088 cityH5892 and againstH5921 thisH2088 landH776 wordsH1697 similar to allH3605 those of JeremiahH3414. 21When KingH4428 JehoiakimH3079 and allH3605 his mightyH1368 menH1368 and allH3605 the officialsH8269 heardH8085 his wordsH1697, then the 34kingH4428 soughtH1245 to putH4191 him to deathH4191; but UriahH223 heardH8085 it, and he was afraidH3372 and 35fledH1272 and wentH935 to EgyptH4714. 22Then KingH4428 JehoiakimH3079 sentH7971 menH376 to EgyptH4714: 36ElnathanH494 the sonH1121 of AchborH5907 and certain menH376 with him went into EgyptH4714. 23And they broughtH3318 UriahH223 from EgyptH4714 and ledH935 him to KingH4428 JehoiakimH3079, who 37slewH5221 him with a swordH2719 and castH7993 his deadH5038 bodyH5038 into the 38burialH6913 placeH6913 of the 39commonH1121 peopleH5971.
24But the handH3027 of 40AhikamH296 the sonH1121 of ShaphanH8227 was with JeremiahH3414, so that he was 41not givenH5414 into the handsH3027 of the peopleH5971 to putH4191 him to deathH4191.
