Jeremiah 26:17-23
17Then 1someH376 of the eldersH2205 of the landH776 roseH6965 up and spokeH559 to allH3605 the assemblyH6951 of the peopleH5971, sayingH559, 18“23MicahH4318 of MoreshethH4183 prophesiedH5012 in the daysH3117 of HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063; and he spokeH559 to allH3605 the peopleH5971 of JudahH3063, sayingH559, ‘ThusH3541 the LordH3068 of hostsH6635 has saidH559, “4ZionH6726 will be plowedH2790 as a fieldH7704, And JerusalemH3389 will becomeH1961 ruinsH5856, And the 5mountainH2022 of the houseH1004 as the 6highH1116 placesH1116 of a forestH3293.”’ 19Did HezekiahH2396 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 and allH3605 JudahH3063 putH4191 him to deathH4191? Did he not 7fearH3372 the LordH3068 and entreatH2470 the favorH6440 of the LordH3068, and 8the LordH3068 9changedH5162 His mindH5162 aboutH413 the misfortuneH7463 whichH834 He had pronouncedH1696 againstH5921 them? But we are 10committingH6213 a greatH1419 evilH7463 againstH5921 ourselvesH5315.”
20IndeedH1571, there was alsoH1571 a manH376 who prophesiedH5012 in the nameH8034 of the LordH3068, UriahH223 the sonH1121 of ShemaiahH8098 from 11Kiriath-jearimH7157; and he prophesiedH5012 againstH5921 thisH2088 cityH5892 and againstH5921 thisH2088 landH776 wordsH1697 similar to allH3605 those of JeremiahH3414. 21When KingH4428 JehoiakimH3079 and allH3605 his mightyH1368 menH1368 and allH3605 the officialsH8269 heardH8085 his wordsH1697, then the 12kingH4428 soughtH1245 to putH4191 him to deathH4191; but UriahH223 heardH8085 it, and he was afraidH3372 and 13fledH1272 and wentH935 to EgyptH4714. 22Then KingH4428 JehoiakimH3079 sentH7971 menH376 to EgyptH4714: 14ElnathanH494 the sonH1121 of AchborH5907 and certain menH376 with him went into EgyptH4714. 23And they broughtH3318 UriahH223 from EgyptH4714 and ledH935 him to KingH4428 JehoiakimH3079, who 15slewH5221 him with a swordH2719 and castH7993 his deadH5038 bodyH5038 into the 16burialH6913 placeH6913 of the 17commonH1121 peopleH5971.
