Jeremiah 22:14-18
14Who saysH559, ‘I will 1buildH1129 myself a roomyH4060 houseH1004 With spaciousH7304 2upperH5944 roomsH5944, And cutH7167 out its windowsH2474, 3PanelingH5603 it with 4cedarH730 and paintingH4886 it 5brightH8350 redH8350.’15Do you becomeH4427 a kingH4427 becauseH3588 you are competingH2734 in cedarH730? Did not your fatherH1 eatH398 and drinkH8354 And 6doH6213 justiceH4941 and righteousnessH6666? ThenH227 it was 7wellH2895 with him.16He pledH1777 the causeH1779 of the 8afflictedH6041 and needyH34; ThenH227 it was wellH2895. 9Is not that what it means to knowH1847 Me?” DeclaresH5002 the LordH3068.17“But your eyesH5869 and your heartH3820 Are intent onlyH3588H518 upon your own 10dishonestH1215 gainH1215, And on 11sheddingH8210 innocentH5355 bloodH1818 And on practicingH6213 oppressionH6233 and extortionH4835.”
18ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 in regardH413 to 12JehoiakimH3079 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, “They will not 13lamentH5594 for him: ‘14AlasH1945, my brotherH251!’ or, ‘AlasH1945, sisterH269!’ They will not lamentH5594 for him: ‘AlasH1945 for the masterH113!’ or, ‘AlasH1945 for his splendorH1935!’
