2 Kings 19:20-36

20Then IsaiahH3470 the sonH1121 of AmozH531 sentH7971 to HezekiahH2396 sayingH559, “ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, ‘BecauseH834 you have prayedH6419 to Me aboutH413 SennacheribH5576 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, 1I have heardH8085 you.’ 21ThisH2088 is the wordH1697 that the LordH3068 has spokenH1696 againstH5921 him: ‘She has despisedH959 you and mockedH3932 you, 2The virginH1330 daughterH1323 of ZionH6726; She 3has shakenH5128 her headH7218 behindH310 you, The daughterH1323 of JerusalemH3389!22WhomH4310 have you 4reproachedH2778 and 5blasphemedH1442? And againstH5921 whomH4310 have you raisedH7311 your voiceH6963, And 6haughtilyH4791 liftedH5375 up your eyesH5869? AgainstH5921 the 7HolyH6918 OneH6918 of IsraelH3478!238ThroughH3027 your messengersH4397 you have reproachedH2778 the LordH136, And you have saidH559, “With my manyH7230 chariotsH7393 I cameH5927 up to the heightsH4791 of the mountainsH2022, To the remotestH3411 partsH3411 of LebanonH3844; And I 9cutH3772 downH3772 its tallH6967 cedarsH730 and its choiceH4004 cypressesH1265. And I 10enteredH935 its farthestH7093 lodgingH4411 placeH4411, its 11thickestH3759 forestH3293.24I dugH6979 wells and drankH8354 foreignH2114 watersH4325, And with the soleH3709 of my feetH6471 I 1213driedH2717 up AllH3605 the riversH2975 of 14EgyptH4693.”

25‘15Have you not heardH8085? LongH7350 agoH7350 I didH6213 it; From ancientH6924 timesH3117H6924 I plannedH3335 it. 16NowH6258 I have broughtH935 it to passH935, That you should turnH1961H7582 fortifiedH1219 citiesH5892 into ruinousH5327 heapsH1530.26Therefore their inhabitantsH3427 were shortH7116 of strengthH3027, They were dismayedH2865 and putH954 to shameH954; They were 17as the vegetationH6212 of the fieldH7704 and as the greenH3419 herbH1877, As grassH2682 on the housetopsH1406 is scorchedH7711 beforeH6440 it is grownH7054 up.27But 18I knowH3045 your sittingH3427 downH3427, And your goingH3318 out and your comingH935 in, And your ragingH7264 againstH413 Me.28BecauseH3282 of your ragingH7264 againstH413 Me, And because your 19arroganceH7600 has comeH5927 up to My earsH241, Therefore I 20will putH7760 My hookH2397 in your noseH639, And My bridleH4964 in your lipsH8193, And 21I will turnH7725 you backH7725 by the wayH1870 whichH834 you cameH935.

29‘Then thisH2088 shall be 22the signH226 for you: 23you will eatH398 this yearH8141 whatH5599 growsH5599 of itself, in the secondH8145 yearH8141 whatH5501 springsH5501 from the same, and in the thirdH7992 yearH8141 sowH2232, reapH7114, plantH5193 vineyardsH3754, and eatH398 their fruitH6529. 3024The survivingH7604 remnantH7604 of the houseH1004 of JudahH3063 will againH3254 take rootH8328 downwardH4295 and bearH6213 fruitH6529 upwardH4605. 31For out of JerusalemH3389 will goH3318 forthH3318 a remnantH7611, and 25out of MountH2022 ZionH6726 26survivorsH6413. 27The zealH7068 of 28the LordH3068 will performH6213 thisH2088.

32‘ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 concerningH413 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804, “29He will not comeH935 to thisH2088 cityH5892 or shootH3384 an arrowH2671 thereH8033; and he will not comeH6923 beforeH6923 it with a shieldH4043 orH3808 throwH8210 up a siegeH5550 rampH5550 againstH5921 it. 3330By the wayH1870 that he cameH935, by the same he will returnH7725, and he shall not comeH935 to thisH2088 cityH5892,”’ declaresH5002 the LordH3068. 34‘31For I will defendH1598 thisH2088 cityH5892 to saveH3467 it for My own sakeH4616 and 32for My servantH5650 David’sH1732 sakeH4616.’”

3533Then it happenedH1961 that nightH3915 that the angelH4397 of the LordH3068 wentH3318 out and struckH5221 185,000H3967H8084H2568H505 in the campH4264 of the AssyriansH804; and when 34men roseH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, beholdH2009, allH3605 of them were 35deadH4191H6297. 36So 36SennacheribH5576 kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 departedH5265 and returnedH7725 home, and livedH3427 at 37NinevehH5210.
