1 Kings 21:4-13

41So AhabH256 cameH935 into his houseH1004 sullenH5620 and vexedH2198 becauseH5921 of the wordH1697 whichH834 NabothH5022 the JezreeliteH3158 had spokenH1696 to him; for he saidH559, “I will not giveH5414 you the inheritanceH5159 of my fathersH1.” And he layH7901 downH7901 on his bedH4296 and turnedH5437 awayH5437 his faceH6440 and ateH398 noH3808 2foodH3899.

5But JezebelH348 his wifeH802 cameH935 to him and saidH1696 to him, “HowH4100 is it that your spiritH7307 is so sullenH5620 that you are not eatingH398 3foodH3899?” 6So he saidH1696 to her, “BecauseH3588 I spokeH1696 to NabothH5022 the JezreeliteH3158 and saidH559 to him, ‘GiveH5414 me your vineyardH3754 for moneyH3701; orH176 else, ifH518 it pleasesH2655 you, I will giveH5414 you a vineyardH3754 in its placeH8478.’ But he saidH559, ‘I will not giveH5414 you my vineyardH3754.’” 7JezebelH348 his wifeH802 saidH559 to him, “4Do you nowH6258 5reignH6213H4410 overH5921 IsraelH3478? AriseH6965, eatH398 breadH3899, and let your heartH3820 be joyfulH3190; I will giveH5414 you the vineyardH3754 of NabothH5022 the JezreeliteH3158.”

86So she wroteH3789 lettersH5612 in Ahab’sH256 nameH8034 and sealedH2856 them with his sealH2368, and sentH7971 lettersH5612 to 7the eldersH2205 and to the noblesH2715 whoH834 were livingH3427 with NabothH5022 in his cityH5892. 9Now she wroteH3789 in the lettersH5612, sayingH559, “ProclaimH7121 a fastH6685 and seatH3427 NabothH5022 at the headH7218 of the peopleH5971; 10and seatH3427 twoH8147 8worthlessH1100 menH376 beforeH5048 him, and let them testifyH5749 against him, sayingH559, ‘9You cursedH1288 GodH430 and the kingH4428.’ Then takeH3318 him out and 10stoneH5619 him 11to deathH4191.”

11So the menH376 of his cityH5892, the eldersH2205 and the noblesH2715 whoH834 livedH3427 in his cityH5892, didH6213 as JezebelH348 had sentH7971 word to them, justH3512 as it was writtenH3789 in the lettersH5612 whichH834 she had sentH7971 them. 12They 12proclaimedH7121 a fastH6685 and seatedH3427 NabothH5022 at the headH7218 of the peopleH5971. 13Then the twoH8147 worthlessH1100 menH376 cameH935 in and satH3427 beforeH5048 him; and the worthlessH1100 menH376 testifiedH5749 against him, even against NabothH5022, beforeH5048 the peopleH5971, sayingH559, “NabothH5022 cursedH1288 GodH430 and the kingH4428.” 13So they tookH3318 him outsideH4480H2351 the cityH5892 and stonedH5619 him 14to deathH4191 with stonesH68.
