Kings 14:2-18
JeroboamH3379 saidH559 to his wifeH802, “AriseH6965 nowH4994, and 1disguiseH8132 yourself so that they will not knowH3045 that you are the wifeH802 of JeroboamH3379, and goH1980 to 2ShilohH7887; beholdH2009, AhijahH281 the prophetH5030 is thereH8033, whoH1931 3spokeH1696 concerningH5921 me that I would be kingH4428 overH5921 thisH2088 peopleH5971. 34TakeH3947 tenH6235 loavesH3899 with you, some cakesH5350 and a jarH1228 of honeyH1706, and goH935 to him. He will tellH5046 you whatH4100 will happenH1961 to the boyH5288.”
Jeroboam’sH3379 wifeH802 didH6213 soH3651, and aroseH6965 and wentH1980 to 5ShilohH7887, and cameH935 to the houseH1004 of 6AhijahH281. Now AhijahH281 couldH3201 not seeH7200, 7for his eyesH5869 were 8dimH6965 becauseH4480 of his ageH7869. 5Now the LordH3068 had saidH559 to AhijahH281, “BeholdH2009, the wifeH802 of JeroboamH3379 is comingH935 to 9inquireH1875 of you concerningH413 her sonH1121, for he is sickH2470. You shall sayH1696 thusH2090 and thusH2088 to her, for it will be when she arrivesH935 that 10she will pretendH5235 to be anotherH5235 womanH5235.”
When AhijahH281 heardH8085 the soundH6963 of her feetH7272 comingH935 in the doorwayH6607, he saidH559, “ComeH935 in, wifeH802 of JeroboamH3379, whyH4100 do you pretendH5235 to be anotherH5235 womanH5235? For I am sentH7971 to you with a harshH7186 message. 7GoH1980, sayH559 to JeroboamH3379, ‘ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478, “11BecauseH3282H834 I exaltedH7311 you from amongH8432 the peopleH5971 and madeH5414 you leaderH5057 overH5921 My peopleH5971 IsraelH3478, 8and 12toreH7167 the kingdomH4467 awayH7167 from the houseH1004 of DavidH1732 and gaveH5414 it to you--13yet you have not beenH1961 like My servantH5650 DavidH1732, whoH834 keptH8104 My commandmentsH4687 and whoH834 followedH1980H310 Me with allH3605 his heartH3824, 14to doH6213 onlyH7534 that whichH3477 was rightH3477 in My sightH5869; 9you also have doneH6213 moreH4480 evilH7489 thanH4480 allH3605 whoH834 were beforeH6440 you, and 15have goneH1980 and madeH6213 for yourself otherH312 godsH430 and 16moltenH4541 imagesH4541 to provokeH3707 Me to angerH3707, and have 17castH7993 Me behindH310 your backH1458-- 10thereforeH3651 beholdH2009, I am bringingH935 calamityH7463 on the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379, and 18will cutH3772 offH3772 from JeroboamH3379 19everyH8366 maleH8366H7023 person, 20both bondH6113 and freeH5800 in IsraelH3478, and I 21will makeH1197 a cleanH1197 sweepH1197 of the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379, as one sweepsH1197 awayH1197 dungH1557 untilH5704 it is allH8552 goneH8552. 1122Anyone belonging to JeroboamH3379 who diesH4191 in the cityH5892 the dogsH3611 will eatH398. And he who diesH4191 in the fieldH7704 the birdsH5775 of the heavensH8064 will eatH398; for the LordH3068 has spokenH1696 it.”’ 12Now you, ariseH6965, goH1980 to your houseH1004. 23When your feetH7272 enterH935 the cityH5892 the childH3206 will dieH4191. 13AllH3605 IsraelH3478 shall mournH5594 for him and buryH6912 him, for 24he aloneH905 of Jeroboam’sH3379 family will comeH935 to the graveH6913, becauseH3282 in him 25somethingH1697 goodH2896 was foundH4672 towardH413 the LordH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478 in the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379. 14Moreover, 26the LordH3068 will raiseH6965 up for Himself a kingH4428 overH5921 IsraelH3478 whoH834 will cutH3772 offH3772 the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379 thisH2088 dayH3117 27and from nowH6258 on.
“For the LordH3068 will strikeH5221 IsraelH3478, as a reedH7070 is shakenH5110 in the waterH4325; and 28He will uprootH5428 IsraelH3478 from 29thisH2088 goodH2896 landH127 whichH834 He gaveH5414 to their fathersH1, and 30will scatterH2219 them beyondH4480H5676 the Euphrates RiverH5104, 31becauseH3282H834 they have madeH6213 their 32AsherimH842, provokingH3707 the LordH3068 to angerH3707. 16He will giveH5414 up IsraelH3478 33on accountH1558 of the sinsH2403 of JeroboamH3379, whichH834 he 34committedH2398 and with whichH834 he made IsraelH3478 to sinH2398.”
Then Jeroboam’sH3379 wifeH802 aroseH6965 and departedH1980 and cameH935 to 35TirzahH8656. 36As she was enteringH935 the thresholdH5592 of the houseH1004, the childH5288 diedH4191. 1837AllH3605 IsraelH3478 buriedH6912 him and mournedH5594 for him, according to the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 whichH834 He spokeH1696 throughH3027 His servantH5650 AhijahH281 the prophetH5030.
