Daniel 10

1In the thirdH7969 yearH8141 of CyrusH3566 kingH4428 of PersiaH6539, a messageH1697 was revealedH1540 to DanielH1841, whoH834 was calledH7121H8034 BelteshazzarH1095. The messageH1697 was trueH571, and it concerned a greatH1419 conflictH6635.1 And the understandingH998 of the messageH1697 was given to himH995 in a visionH4758.

2In thoseH1992 daysH3117 IH589, DanielH1841, wasH1961 mourningH56 for threeH7969 fullH3117 weeksH7620. 3I ateH398 noH3808 richH2532 foodH3899, noH3808 meatH1320 or wineH3196 enteredH935H413 my mouthH6310, and I did notH3808 anoint myself with oilH5480 untilH5704 the threeH7969 weeksH7620H3117 were completedH4390.

4On the twenty-fourthH6242H702 dayH3117 of the firstH7223 monthH2320, as IH589 wasH1961 standing onH5921 the bankH3027 of the greatH1419H1931 riverH5104, the TigrisH2313, 5I lifted upH5375 my eyesH5869, and beholdH7200H2009, there was a certainH259 manH376 dressedH3847 in linenH906, with a beltH2296 of fine goldH3800 from UphazH210 around his waistH4975. 6His bodyH1472 was like berylH8658, his faceH6440 like the brillianceH4758 of lightningH1300, his eyesH5869 like flamingH784 torchesH3940, his armsH2220 and legsH4772 like the gleamH5869 of polishedH7044 bronzeH5178, andH6963 his voiceH1697 like the soundH6963 of a multitudeH1995.

7OnlyH905 IH589, DanielH1841, sawH7200 the visionH4759; the menH582 with meH5973 did notH3808 see itH7200, butH61 a greatH1419 terrorH2731 fellH5307 upon themH5921, and they ranH1272 and hid themselvesH2244.

8So IH589 was left aloneH7604H905, gazing atH7200 thisH2063 greatH1419 visionH4759. NoH3808 strengthH3581 remainedH7604 in me; my faceH1935 grewH2015H5921 deathly paleH4889, and I was powerlessH3808H6113H3581. 9I heardH8085 the soundH6963 of his wordsH1697, and as I listenedH8085, IH589H1961 fell into a deep sleepH7290H5921, with my faceH6440 to the groundH776.

10SuddenlyH2009, a handH3027 touchedH5060 me and set me tremblingH5128 onH5921 my handsH3709H3027 and kneesH1290. 11He saidH559 to meH413, “DanielH1841, you are a manH376 who is highly preciousH2532. Consider carefullyH995 the wordsH1697 thatH834 I amH595 about to sayH1696 to youH413. Stand upH5975H5921H5977, forH3588 I have nowH6258 been sentH7971 to youH413.”

And when he had saidH1696 thisH2088 to meH5973H1697, I stood upH5975 tremblingH7460.

12“Do notH408 be afraidH3372, DanielH1841,” he saidH559, “forH3588 fromH4480 the firstH7223 dayH3117 thatH834 you purposedH5414 to understandH995 and to humbleH6031 yourself beforeH6440 your GodH430, your wordsH1697 were heardH8085, and IH589 have comeH935 in response to themH1697. 13However, the princeH8269 of the kingdomH4438 of PersiaH6539 opposedH5975 meH5048 for twenty-oneH6242H259 daysH3117H2009. Then MichaelH4317, oneH259 of the chiefH7223 princesH8269, cameH935 to help meH5826, for IH589 had been leftH3498 thereH8033 withH681 the kingsH4428 of PersiaH6539. 14Now I have comeH935 to explain to youH995 whatH834 will happenH7136 to your peopleH5971 in the latterH319 daysH3117, forH3588H5750 the visionH2377 concerns those daysH3117.”

15While he was speakingH1696 theseH428 wordsH1697 to meH5973, I setH5414 my faceH6440 toward the groundH776 and became speechlessH481. 16And suddenlyH2009 one with the likenessH1823 of a manH1121H1202 touchedH5060H5921 my lipsH8193, and I openedH6605 my mouthH6310H1696 and saidH559 toH413 the one standingH5975 before meH5048, “My lordH113, because of the visionH4759, I am overcomeH2015 with anguishH6735H5921, and I haveH6113 noH3808 strengthH3581. 17HowH1963 can IH3201, your servantH5650, speakH1696 withH5973 you, my lordH113? NowH6258 IH589 haveH5975 noH3808 strengthH3581, norH3808 is any breathH5397 leftH7604 in me.”

18AgainH3254 the one with the likenessH4758 of a manH120 touchedH5060 me and strengthened meH2388. 19“Do notH408 be afraidH3372H376, you who are highly preciousH2532,” he saidH559. “PeaceH7965 be with you! Be strong nowH2388; be very strongH2388!”

As he spokeH1696 with meH5973, I was strengthenedH2388 and saidH559, “SpeakH1696, my lordH113, forH3588 you have strengthened meH2388.”

20“Do you knowH3045 whyH4100 I have comeH935 to youH413?” he saidH559. “I must returnH7725 at onceH6258 to fightH3898 againstH5973 the princeH8269 of PersiaH6539, and when IH589 have gone forthH3318, beholdH2009, the princeH8269 of GreeceH31203 will comeH935. 21But firstH61 I will tellH5046 you what is inscribedH7559 in the BookH3791 of TruthH571. Yet noH369 oneH259 has the courageH2388 to support meH5973 againstH5921 theseH428, exceptH3588H518 MichaelH4317 your princeH8269.
