2saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to his motherלְאִמּ֡וֹle.'i.MoH517, “The elevenאֶלֶף֩'e.LefH505hundredוּמֵאָ֨הu.me.'AhH3967shekelsof silverהַכֶּ֜סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834were takenלֻֽקַּֽח־lu.kach-H3947from youandוְגַם֙ve.GamH1571about which I heardבְּאָזְנַ֔יbe.'a.ze.NaiH241youוְאַ֤תְּve.'a.tiH859utterאָמַ֣רְתְּ'a.MartH559a curseאָלִית֙'a.LitH422—I haveהִנֵּֽה־hi.neh-H2009the silver hereהַכֶּ֥סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701with meאִתִּ֖י'i.TiH854;Iאֲנִ֣י'a.NiH589took itלְקַחְתִּ֑יוle.kach.TivH3947.”Then his motherאִמּ֔וֹ'i.MoH517saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, “Blessed beבָּר֥וּךְba.RukhH1288my sonבְּנִ֖יbe.NiH1121by the LORDלַיהוָֽה׃la.Yah.wehH3068!”

3And when he had returnedוַיָּ֛שֶׁב אֶת־vai.Ya.shev 'et-H7725 H853the elevenאֶֽלֶף־'e.lef-H505hundredוּמֵאָ֥הu.me.'AhH3967shekelsof silverהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701to his motherלְאִמּ֑וֹle.'i.MoH517, sheאִמּ֡וֹ'i.MoH517saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559, “I wholly dedicateH6942אֶת־'et-H853the silverהַכֶּסֶף֩ha.ke.SefH3701to the LORDלַיהוָ֨ה מִיָּדִ֜יla.Yah.weh mi.ya.DiH3068 H3027for my son’s benefitלִבְנִ֗יliv.NiH1121,to makeלַֽעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.sOtH6213a graven imageפֶּ֣סֶלPe.selH6459and a molten idolוּמַסֵּכָ֔הu.ma.se.KhahH4541.Therefore I will nowוְעַתָּ֖הve.'a.TahH6258return itאֲשִׁיבֶ֥נּוּ'a.shi.Ve.nuH7725to you.”

4So he returnedוַיָּ֥שֶׁבvai.Ya.shevH7725אֶת־'et-H853the silverהַכֶּ֖סֶףha.Ke.sefH3701to his motherלְאִמּ֑וֹle.'i.MoH517,and sheאִמּוֹ֩'i.MoH517tookוַתִּקַּ֣חva.ti.KachH3947two hundredמָאתַ֨יִםma.Ta.yimH3967shekelsof silverכֶּ֜סֶףKe.sefH3701and gave themוַתִּתְּנֵ֣הוּva.ti.te.Ne.huH5414to a silversmithלַצּוֹרֵ֗ףla.tzo.RefH6884,who made themוַֽיַּעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙vai.ya.'a.Se.huH6213into a graven imageפֶּ֣סֶלPe.selH6459and a molten idolוּמַסֵּכָ֔הu.ma.se.KhahH4541.And they were placedוַיְהִ֖יvay.HiH1961in the houseבְּבֵ֥יתbe.VeitH1004of Micahמִיכָֽיְהוּ׃mi.Kha.ye.huH4321.

5Now this manוְהָאִ֣ישׁve.ha.'IshH376Micahמִיכָ֔הmi.KhahH4318hada shrineבֵּ֣ית אֱלֹהִ֑יםbeit 'E.lo.HimH1004 H430,and he madeוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213an ephodאֵפוֹד֙'e.fOdH646and some household idolsוּתְרָפִ֔יםu.te.ra.FimH8655,and ordainedוַיְמַלֵּ֗אvay.ma.Le'H4390אֶת־'et-H853יַ֤דyadH3027oneאַחַד֙'a.ChadH259of his sonsמִבָּנָ֔יוmi.ba.NavH1121asוַיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961hispriestלְכֹהֵֽן׃le.kho.HenH3548.

6In thoseהָהֵ֔םha.HemH1992daysבַּיָּמִ֣יםbai.ya.MimH3117there was noאֵ֥ין'einH369kingמֶ֖לֶךְMe.lekhH4428in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לbe.Yis.ra.'ElH3478;everyoneאִ֛ישׁ'ishH376didיַעֲשֶֽׂה׃ פya.'a.SehH6213what wasrightהַיָּשָׁ֥רhai.ya.SharH3477in his own eyesבְּעֵינָ֖יוbe.'ei.NavH5869.

7And there wasוַיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961a youngנַ֗עַרNa.'arH5288וְה֥וּאve.Hu'H1931Leviteלֵוִ֖יle.ViH3881from BethlehemH1035in Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063whoוְה֥וּאve.Hu'H1931had been residingגָֽר־ שָֽׁם׃gar- ShamH1481 H8033within the clanמִמִּשְׁפַּ֖חַתmi.mish.Pa.chatH4940of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063.

9“Whereמֵאַ֣יִןme.'A.yinH370are you fromתָּב֑וֹאta.Vo'H935?”Micahמִיכָ֖הmi.KhahH4318askedוַיֹּאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559him. “Iאָנֹ֗כִי'a.No.khiH595am a Leviteלֵוִ֣יle.ViH3881from BethlehemH1035in Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,”he repliedוַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יוvai.Yo.mer 'e.LavH559 H413, “and Iוְאָנֹכִ֣יve.'a.no.KhiH595am on my wayהֹלֵ֔ךְho.LekhH1980to settleלָג֖וּרla.GurH1481whereverבַּאֲשֶׁ֥רba.'a.SherH834I can find a placeאֶמְצָֽא׃'em.Tza'H4672.”

10“Stayשְׁבָ֣הshe.VahH3427with meעִמָּדִ֗י'i.ma.DiH5978,”Micahמִיכָ֜הmi.KhahH4318saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559to him, “and beוֶֽהְיֵה־veh.yeh-H1961myfatherלְאָ֣בle.'AvH1and priestוּלְכֹהֵן֒u.le.kho.HenH3548,and Iוְאָנֹכִ֨יve.'a.no.KhiH595will giveאֶֽתֶּן־'e.ten-H5414youtenעֲשֶׂ֤רֶת'a.Se.retH6235shekelsof silverכֶּ֙סֶף֙ke.sefH3701per yearלַיָּמִ֔יםlai.ya.MimH3117,a suitוְעֵ֥רֶךְve.'E.rekhH6187of clothesבְּגָדִ֖יםbe.ga.DimH899,and your provisionsוּמִחְיָתֶ֑ךָu.mich.ya.Te.khaH4241.”So the Leviteהַלֵּוִֽי׃ha.le.ViH3881went inוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980

11and agreedוַיּ֥וֹאֶל הַלֵּוִ֖יvai.Yo.'el ha.le.ViH2974 H3881to stayלָשֶׁ֣בֶתla.She.vetH3427withאֶת־'et-H854himהָאִ֑ישׁha.'IshH376,and the young manהַנַּ֙עַר֙ha.Na.'arH5288becameוַיְהִ֤יvay.HiH1961like aכְּאַחַ֖דke.'a.ChadH259sonמִבָּנָֽיו׃mi.ba.NavH1121to Micah.

12Micahמִיכָה֙mi.KhahH4318אֶת־'et-H853ordainedוַיְמַלֵּ֤א יַ֣דvay.ma.Le' yadH4390 H3027the Leviteהַלֵּוִ֔יha.le.ViH3881,and the young manהַנַּ֖עַרha.Na.'arH5288becameוַיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961hispriestלְכֹהֵ֑ןle.kho.HenH3548and livedוַיְהִ֖יvay.HiH1961inמִיכָֽה׃mi.KhahH4318hishouseבְּבֵ֥יתbe.VeitH1004.

13Then Micahמִיכָ֔הmi.KhahH4318saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Nowעַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH6258I knowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045thatכִּֽי־ki-H3588the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068will be goodיֵיטִ֥יבyei.TivH3190to me,becauseכִּ֧יkiH3588a Leviteהַלֵּוִ֖יha.le.ViH3881has becomeהָיָה־ha.yah-H1961mypriestלְכֹהֵֽן׃le.kho.HenH3548.”
