8Then Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Noahנֹ֔חַ וְאֶל־No.ach ve.'el-H5146 H413and his sonsבָּנָ֥יוba.NavH1121with himאִתּ֖וֹ לֵאמֹֽר׃'i.To le.MorH854 H559,

9“Beholdהִנְנִ֥יhi.NiH2005,I nowוַאֲנִ֕יva.'a.NiH589establishמֵקִ֛יםme.KimH6965אֶת־'et-H853My covenantבְּרִיתִ֖יbe.ri.TiH1285with youאִתְּכֶ֑ם'i.te.KhemH854and yourוְאֶֽת־ve.'EtH854descendantsזַרְעֲכֶ֖םzar.'a.KhemH2233after youאַֽחֲרֵיכֶֽם׃'A.cha.rei.KhemH310,

10and withוְאֵ֨תve.'EtH854everyכָּל־kol-H3605livingהַֽחַיָּה֙ha.chai.YahH2416creatureנֶ֤פֶשׁNe.feshH5315thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834waswith youאִתְּכֶ֔ם'i.te.KhemH854—the birdsבָּע֧וֹףba.'ofH5775,the livestockבַּבְּהֵמָ֛הba.be.he.MahH929,and everyוּֽבְכָל־u.ve.Khol-H3605beastחַיַּ֥תchai.YatH2416of the earthהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776אִתְּכֶ֑ם'i.te.KhemH854—everyמִכֹּל֙mi.KolH3605living thingחַיַּ֥ת הָאָֽרֶץ׃chai.Yat ha.'A.retzH2416 H776that came outיֹצְאֵ֣יyo.tze.'EiH3318of the arkהַתֵּבָ֔ה לְכֹ֖לha.te.Vah le.KholH8392 H3605.

11And I establishוַהֲקִמֹתִ֤יva.ha.ki.mo.TiH6965אֶת־'et-H853My covenantבְּרִיתִי֙be.ri.TiH1285with youאִתְּכֶ֔ם'i.te.KhemH854:Neverוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808againע֖וֹדodH5750will allכָּל־kol-H3605lifeבָּשָׂ֛רba.SarH1320be cut offיִכָּרֵ֧תyi.ka.RetH3772by the watersמִמֵּ֣יmi.MeiH4325of a floodהַמַּבּ֑וּלha.ma.BulH3999;neverוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808againע֛וֹדodH5750will there beיִהְיֶ֥הyih.YehH1961a floodמַבּ֖וּלma.BulH3999to destroyלְשַׁחֵ֥תle.sha.ChetH7843the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.”

12And Godאֱלֹהִ֗ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Thisזֹ֤אתzotH2063is the signאֽוֹת־'ot-H226of the covenantהַבְּרִית֙ha.be.RitH1285אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Iאֲנִ֣י'a.NiH589am makingנֹתֵ֗ןno.TenH5414between Meבֵּינִי֙bei.NiH996and youוּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔םu.Vei.nei.KhemH996andוּבֵ֛יןu.VeinH996everyכָּל־kol-H3605livingחַיָּ֖הchai.YahH2416אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834creatureנֶ֥פֶשׁNe.feshH5315with youאִתְּכֶ֑ם'i.te.KhemH854, a covenantfor all generationsלְדֹרֹ֖תle.do.RotH1755to comeעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769:

13אֶת־'et-H853I have setנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414My rainbowקַשְׁתִּ֕יkash.TiH7198in the cloudsבֶּֽעָנָ֑ןbe.'a.NanH6051,and it will beוְהָֽיְתָה֙ve.ha.ye.TahH1961a signלְא֣וֹתle.'otH226of the covenantבְּרִ֔יתbe.RitH1285betweenבֵּינִ֖יbei.NiH996Meוּבֵ֥יןu.VeinH996and the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.

14וְהָיָ֕הve.ha.YahH1961Whenever I formבְּעַֽנְנִ֥יbe.'a.NiH6049cloudsעָנָ֖ן'a.NanH6051overעַל־'al-H5921the earthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776and the rainbowהַקֶּ֖שֶׁתha.Ke.shetH7198appearsוְנִרְאֲתָ֥הve.nir.'a.TahH7200in the cloudsבֶּעָנָֽן׃be.'a.NanH6051,

15I will rememberוְזָכַרְתִּ֣יve.za.khar.TiH2142אֶת־'et-H853My covenantבְּרִיתִ֗יbe.ri.TiH1285אֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834between Meבֵּינִי֙bei.NiH996and youוּבֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔םu.Vei.nei.KhemH996andוּבֵ֛יןu.VeinH996everyכָּל־kol-H3605livingחַיָּ֖הchai.YahH2416creatureנֶ֥פֶשׁNe.feshH5315of everyבְּכָל־be.kholH3605kindבָּשָׂ֑רba.SarH1320.Neverוְלֹֽא־ve.lo'-H3808againע֤וֹדodH5750will the watersהַמַּ֙יִם֙ha.Ma.yimH4325becomeיִֽהְיֶ֨הyih.YehH1961a floodלְמַבּ֔וּלle.ma.BulH3999to destroyלְשַׁחֵ֖תle.sha.ChetH7843allכָּל־kol-H3605lifeבָּשָֽׂר׃ba.SarH1320.

16And whenever the rainbowהַקֶּ֖שֶׁתha.Ke.shetH7198appearsוְהָיְתָ֥הve.ha.ye.TahH1961in the cloudsבֶּֽעָנָ֑ןbe.'a.NanH6051,I will see itוּרְאִיתִ֗יהָu.re.'i.Ti.haH7200and rememberלִזְכֹּר֙liz.KorH2142the everlastingעוֹלָ֔םo.LamH5769covenantבְּרִ֣יתbe.RitH1285betweenבֵּ֣יןbeinH996Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430andוּבֵין֙u.VeinH996everyכָּל־kol-H3605livingחַיָּ֔הchai.YahH2416creatureנֶ֣פֶשׁNe.feshH5315of everyבְּכָל־be.kholH3605kindבָּשָׂ֖רba.SarH1320thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834isonעַל־'al-H5921the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776.”

17So Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Noahנֹ֑חַNo.achH5146, “Thisזֹ֤אתzotH2063is the signאֽוֹת־'ot-H226of the covenantהַבְּרִית֙ha.be.RitH1285thatאֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834I have establishedהֲקִמֹ֔תִיha.ki.Mo.tiH6965betweenבֵּינִ֕יbei.NiH996Meוּבֵ֥יןu.VeinH996and everyכָּל־kol-H3605creatureבָּשָׂ֖רba.SarH1320אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834onעַל־'al-H5921the earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ פha.'A.retzH776.”

18The sonsבְנֵי־ve.nei-H1121of Noahנֹ֗חַNo.achH5146who came outהַיֹּֽצְאִים֙hai.yo.tze.'ImH3318ofמִן־min-H4480the arkהַתֵּבָ֔הha.te.VahH8392wereוַיִּֽהְי֣וּvai.yih.YuH1961Shemשֵׁ֖םshemH8035,Hamוְחָ֣םve.ChamH2526,and Japhethוָיָ֑פֶתva.Ya.fetH3315.And Hamוְחָ֕ם ה֖וּאve.Cham hu'H2526 H1931was the fatherאֲבִ֥י'a.ViH1of Canaanכְנָֽעַן׃khe.Na.'anH3667.

19Theseאֵ֖לֶּה'E.lehH428threeשְׁלֹשָׁ֥הshe.lo.ShahH7969were the sonsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Noahנֹ֑חַNo.achH5146,and from themוּמֵאֵ֖לֶּהu.me.'E.lehH428the wholeכָל־khol-H3605earthהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776was populatedנָֽפְצָ֥הna.fe.TzahH5310.

20Now Noahנֹ֖חַNo.achH5146,a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of the soilהָֽאֲדָמָ֑הha.'a.da.MahH127,proceededוַיָּ֥חֶלvai.Ya.chelH2490to plantוַיִּטַּ֖עvai.yi.Ta'H5193a vineyardכָּֽרֶם׃Ka.remH3754.

21But when he drankוַיֵּ֥שְׁתְּvai.Ye.shetH8354some ofמִן־min-H4480its wineהַיַּ֖יִןhai.Ya.yinH3196,he became drunkוַיִּשְׁכָּ֑רvai.yish.KarH7937and uncovered himselfוַיִּתְגַּ֖לvai.yit.GalH1540insideבְּת֥וֹךְbe.TokhH8432his tentאָהֳלֽוֹ׃'o.ho.LoH168.

22And Hamחָ֚םchamH2526,the fatherאֲבִ֣י'a.ViH1of Canaanכְנַ֔עַןkhe.Na.'anH3667אֵ֖ת'etH853,sawוַיַּ֗רְאvai.Yar'H7200his father’sאָבִ֑יו'a.VivH1nakednessעֶרְוַ֣ת'er.VatH6172and toldוַיַּגֵּ֥דvai.ya.GedH5046his twoלִשְׁנֵֽי־lish.nei-H8147brothersאֶחָ֖יו'e.ChavH251outsideבַּחֽוּץ׃ba.ChutzH2351.

23Then Shemשֵׁ֨םshemH8035and Japhethוָיֶ֜פֶתva.Ye.fetH3315אֶת־'et-H853tookוַיִּקַּח֩vai.yi.KachH3947a garmentהַשִּׂמְלָ֗הha.sim.LahH8071and placedוַיָּשִׂ֙ימוּ֙vai.ya.Si.muH7760it acrossעַל־ שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם'al- she.nei.HemH5921 H8147their shouldersשְׁכֶ֣םshe.KhemH7926,and walkingוַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙vai.yel.KhuH1980backwardאֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית'a.Cho.ra.NitH322,they coveredוַיְכַסּ֕וּvay.kha.SuH3680אֵ֖ת'etH853their father’sאֲבִיהֶ֑ם'a.vi.HemH1nakednessעֶרְוַ֣ת'er.VatH6172.Their facesוּפְנֵיהֶם֙u.fe.nei.HemH6440were turned awayאֲחֹ֣רַנִּ֔ית'a.Cho.ra.NitH322so that they did notלֹ֥אlo'H3808seeרָאֽוּ׃ra.'UH7200their father’sאֲבִיהֶ֖ם'a.vi.HemH1nakednessוְעֶרְוַ֥תve.'er.VatH6172.

24When Noahנֹ֖חַNo.achH5146awokeוַיִּ֥יקֶץvai.Yi.ketzH3364from his drunkennessמִיֵּינ֑וֹmi.yei.NoH3196and learnedוַיֵּ֕דַעvai.Ye.da'H3045אֵ֛ת'etH853whatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834his youngestהַקָּטָֽן׃ha.ka.TanH6996sonבְּנ֥וֹbe.NoH1121had doneעָ֥שָׂה־'A.sah-H6213to him,

25he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Cursed beאָר֣וּר'a.RurH779Canaanכְּנָ֑עַןke.Na.'anH3667!A servantעֶ֥בֶד'E.vedH5650of servantsעֲבָדִ֖ים'a.va.DimH5650shall he beיִֽהְיֶ֥הyih.YehH1961to his brothersלְאֶחָֽיו׃le.'e.ChavH251.”

26He also declaredוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559: “Blessedבָּר֥וּךְba.RukhH1288bethe LORDיְהֹוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹ֣הֵי'e.Lo.heiH430of Shemשֵׁ֑םShemH8035!May Canaanכְנַ֖עַןkhe.Na.'anH3667beוִיהִ֥יvi.HiH1961the servantעֶ֥בֶד'E.vedH5650of Shem.

27May Godאֱלֹהִים֙'E.lo.HimH430expand the territoryיַ֤פְתְּyaftH6601of Japhethלְיֶ֔פֶתle.Ye.fetH3315;may he dwellוְיִשְׁכֹּ֖ןve.yish.KonH7931in the tentsבְּאָֽהֳלֵי־be.'o.ho.lei-H168of Shemשֵׁ֑םShemH8035,and may Canaanכְנַ֖עַןkhe.Na.'anH3667beוִיהִ֥יvi.HiH1961his servantעֶ֥בֶד'E.vedH5650.”

28Afterאַחַ֣ר'a.CharH310the floodהַמַּבּ֑וּלha.ma.BulH3999,Noahנֹ֖חַNo.achH5146livedוַֽיְחִי־vay.chi-H2421350שְׁלֹ֤שׁ מֵאוֹת֙ וַֽחֲמִשִּׁ֖יםshe.Losh me.'Ot va.cha.mi.ShimH7969 H3967 H2572yearsH8141.

29So Noahנֹ֔חַNo.achH5146livedיְמֵי־ye.mei-H3117a total ofוַיִּֽהְיוּ֙ כָּל־vai.yih.Yu kol-H1961 H3605950תְּשַׁ֤ע מֵאוֹת֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וַחֲמִשִּׁ֖יםte.Sha' me.'Ot sha.Nah va.cha.mi.ShimH8672 H3967 H2572 H8141yearsשָׁנָ֑הsha.NahH8141,and then he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃ פvai.ya.MotH4191.
