4Then they saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559toאֶל־'el-H413Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֗הpar.'OhH6547, “We have comeבָּאנוּ֒ba.NuH935to live in the landבָּאָרֶץ֮ba.'a.RetzH776for a timeלָג֣וּרla.GurH1481,becauseכִּי־ki-H3588there is noאֵ֣ין'einH369pastureמִרְעֶ֗הmir.'EhH4829for the flocksלַצֹּאן֙la.tzoNH6629of your servantsלַעֲבָדֶ֔יךָla.'a.va.Dei.khaH5650אֲשֶׁ֣ר'a.SherH834,sinceכִּֽי־ki-H3588the famineהָרָעָ֖בha.ra.'AvH7458in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Canaanכְּנָ֑עַןke.Na.'anH3667has been severeכָבֵ֥דkha.VedH3515.So nowוְעַתָּ֛הve.'a.TahH6258,pleaseנָ֥אna'H4994allow your servantsעֲבָדֶ֖יךָ'a.va.Dei.khaH5650to settleיֵֽשְׁבוּ־ye.she.vu-H3427in the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Goshenגֹּֽשֶׁן׃Go.shenH1657.”

5Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֔הpar.'OhH6547saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Josephיוֹסֵ֖ף לֵאמֹ֑רyo.Sef le.MorH3130 H559, “Now that your fatherאָבִ֥יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1and brothersוְאַחֶ֖יךָve.'a.Chei.khaH251have comeבָּ֥אוּBa.'uH935to youאֵלֶֽיךָ׃'e.Lei.khaH413,

6the landאֶ֤רֶץ'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֙יִם֙mitz.Ra.yimH4714is before youלְפָנֶ֣יךָ הִ֔ואle.fa.Nei.kha hi'H6440 H1931;settleהוֹשֵׁ֥בho.ShevH3427אֶת־'et-H853your fatherאָבִ֖יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and brothersאַחֶ֑יךָ'a.Chei.khaH251in the bestבְּמֵיטַ֣בbe.mei.TavH4315part of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776.They may dwellיֵשְׁבוּ֙ye.she.VuH3427in the landבְּאֶ֣רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of Goshenגֹּ֔שֶׁןGo.shenH1657.And ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518you know ofיָדַ֗עְתָּ וְיֶשׁ־ya.Da'.ta ve.yesh-H3045 H3426any talentedחַ֔יִלCha.yilH2428men among themאַנְשֵׁי־'an.shei-H582,put themוְשַׂמְתָּ֛םve.sam.TamH7760in charge ofשָׂרֵ֥יsa.ReiH8269my own livestockמִקְנֶ֖ה עַל־mik.Neh 'al-H4735 H5921אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834.”

7Then Josephיוֹסֵף֙yo.SefH3130אֶת־'et-H853brought inוַיָּבֵ֤אvai.ya.Ve'H935his fatherאָבִ֔יו'a.VivH1Jacobיַֽעֲקֹ֣בya.'a.KoH3290and presented himוַיַּֽעֲמִדֵ֖הוּvai.ya.'a.mi.De.huH5975beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440Pharaohפַרְעֹ֑הfar.'OhH6547,and Jacobיַעֲקֹ֖בya.'a.KoH3290אֶת־'et-H853blessedוַיְבָ֥רֶךְvay.Va.rekhH1288Pharaohפַּרְעֹֽה׃par.'OhH6547.

8“How manyכַּמָּ֕הka.MahH4100yearsיְמֵ֖י שְׁנֵ֥יye.Mei she.NeiH3117 H8141have you livedחַיֶּֽיךָ׃chai.Yei.khaH2416?”Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֖הpar.'OhH6547askedוַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֶֽל־ יַעֲקֹ֑בvai.Yo.mer 'el- ya.'a.KoH559 H413 H3290.

9“My travelsמְגוּרַ֔יme.gu.RaiH4033have lasted130שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים וּמְאַ֖תshe.lo.Shim u.me.'AtH3967 H7970yearsH8141,”Jacobיַעֲקֹב֙ya.'a.KoH3290repliedוַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֶל־ פַּרְעֹ֔הvai.Yo.mer 'el- par.'OhH559 H413 H6547. “My yearsחַיַּ֔יchai.YaiH3117 H8141 H2416have beenהָיוּ֙ha.YuH1961fewמְעַ֣טme.'AtH4592and hardוְרָעִ֗יםve.ra.'ImH7451,and they have notוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808matchedהִשִּׂ֗יגוּhi.Si.guH5381אֶת־'et-H853the yearsחַיֵּ֣יchai.YeiH3117 H8141 H2416of the travelsמְגוּרֵיהֶֽם׃me.gu.rei.HemH4033of my fathersאֲבֹתַ֔י'a.vo.TaiH1.”
