1Meanwhile, Josephוְיוֹסֵ֖ףve.yo.SefH3130had been taken downהוּרַ֣דhu.RadH3381to Egyptמִצְרָ֑יְמָהmitz.Ra.ye.mahH4714,where an Egyptianמִצְרִ֔יmitz.RiH4713named Potipharפּוֹטִיפַר֩po.ti.FarH6318,an officerסְרִ֨יסse.RisH5631of Pharaohפַּרְעֹ֜הpar.'OhH6547and captainשַׂ֤רsarH8269of the guardהַטַּבָּחִים֙ אִ֣ישׁha.ta.ba.Chim 'ishH2876H376,bought himוַיִּקְנֵ֡הוּvai.yik.Ne.huH7069fromמִיַּד֙mi.YadH3027the Ishmaelitesהַיִּשְׁמְעֵאלִ֔יםhai.yish.me.'e.LimH3459whoאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834had taken himהוֹרִדֻ֖הוּho.ri.Du.huH3381thereשָֽׁמָּה׃Sha.mahH8033.
2And the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068wasוַיְהִ֤יvay.HiH1961withאֶת־'et-H854Josephיוֹסֵ֔ףyo.SefH3130,and he becameוַיְהִ֖יvay.HiH1961a successfulמַצְלִ֑יחַmatz.Li.achH6743manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376,servingוַיְהִ֕יvay.HiH1961in the householdבְּבֵ֥יתbe.VeitH1004of his Egyptianהַמִּצְרִֽי׃ha.mitz.RiH4713masterאֲדֹנָ֖יו'a.do.NavH113.
3When his masterאֲדֹנָ֔יו'a.do.NavH113sawוַיַּ֣רְאvai.Yar'H7200thatכִּ֥יkiH3588the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068waswith himאִתּ֑וֹ'i.ToH854andיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068made him prosperמַצְלִ֥יחַ בְּיָדֽוֹ׃matz.Li.ach be.ya.DoH6743H3027in allוְכֹל֙ve.KholH3605אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834heה֣וּאhu'H1931didעֹשֶׂ֔ה'o.SehH6213,
4Josephיוֹסֵ֥ףyo.SefH3130foundוַיִּמְצָ֨אvai.yim.Tza'H4672favorחֵ֛ןchenH2580in his sightבְּעֵינָ֖יוbe.'ei.NavH5869and became his personal attendantוַיְשָׁ֣רֶתvay.Sha.retH8334אֹת֑וֹ'o.ToH853.Potiphar put himוַיַּפְקִדֵ֙הוּ֙vai.yaf.ki.De.huH6485in charge ofעַל־'al-H5921his householdבֵּית֔וֹbei.ToH1004and entrustedנָתַ֥ןna.TanH5414himבְּיָדֽוֹ׃be.ya.DoH3027with everythingוְכָל־ve.kholH3605he ownedיֶשׁ־yesh-H3426.
