22וַֽיְהִי֙vay.HiH1961At thatהַהִ֔ואha.Hiv'H1931timeבָּעֵ֣תba.'EtH6256Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40and Phicolוּפִיכֹל֙u.fi.KholH6369the commanderשַׂר־sar-H8269of his armyצְבָא֔וֹtze.va.'OH6635saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם לֵאמֹ֑ר'av.ra.Ham le.MorH85 H559, “Godאֱלֹהִ֣ים'E.lo.HimH430is with youעִמְּךָ֔'i.me.KhaH5973in allבְּכֹ֥לbe.KholH3605thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834youאַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH859doעֹשֶֽׂה׃'o.SehH6213.

23Now, thereforeוְעַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH6258,swearהִשָּׁ֨בְעָהhi.Sha.ve.'ahH7650to mehereהֵ֔נָּהHe.nahH2008before Godבֵֽאלֹהִים֙ve.lo.HimH430that you will notאִם־'im-H518deal falselyתִּשְׁקֹ֣רtish.KorH8266with meor my childrenוּלְנִינִ֖יu.le.ni.NiH5209or descendantsוּלְנֶכְדִּ֑יu.le.nekh.DiH5220.Showעָשִׂ֤יתִי'a.Si.tiH6213to meעִמָּדִ֔י'i.ma.DiH5978andעִמְּךָ֙'i.me.KhaH5973to the countryהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776in whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834you resideגַּ֥רְתָּהGar.tahH1481the same kindnessכַּחֶ֜סֶדka.Che.sedH2617thatאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834I have shownתַּעֲשֶׂ֣הta.'a.SehH6213to youוְעִם־ve.'im-H5973.”

24And Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֔ם'av.ra.HamH85repliedוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “Iאָנֹכִ֖י'a.no.KhiH595swear itאִשָּׁבֵֽעַ׃'i.sha.Ve.a'H7650.”

25But when Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֖ם'av.ra.HamH85אֶת־'et-H853complainedוְהוֹכִ֥חַve.ho.Khi.achH3198to Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40aboutעַל־ אֹדוֹת֙'al- 'o.dotH5921 H182a wellבְּאֵ֣ר הַמַּ֔יִםbe.'Er ha.Ma.yimH875 H4325thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834Abimelech’sאֲבִימֶֽלֶךְ׃'a.vi.Me.lekhH40servantsעַבְדֵ֥י'av.DeiH5650had seizedגָּזְל֖וּga.ze.LuH1497,

26Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֔לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40repliedוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I do notלֹ֣אlo'H3808knowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045whoמִ֥יmiH4310has doneעָשָׂ֖ה'a.SahH6213אֶת־'et-H853thisהַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְגַם־ha.da.Var ha.Zeh ve.gam-H2088 H1571 H1697.Youאַתָּ֞ה'a.TahH859did notלֹא־lo'-H3808tellהִגַּ֣דְתָּhi.Gad.taH5046meוְגַ֧םve.GamH1571,so Iאָנֹכִ֛י'a.no.KhiH595have notלֹ֥אlo'H3808heardשָׁמַ֖עְתִּיsha.Ma'.tiH8085about it until todayבִּלְתִּ֥י הַיּֽוֹם׃bil.Ti hai.YomH1115 H3117.”

27So Abrahamאַבְרָהָם֙'av.ra.HamH85broughtוַיִּקַּ֤חvai.yi.KachH3947sheepצֹ֣אןtzonH6629and cattleוּבָקָ֔רu.va.KarH1241and gave themוַיִּתֵּ֖ןvai.yi.TenH5414to Abimelechלַאֲבִימֶ֑לֶךְla.'a.vi.Me.lekhH40,and the two menשְׁנֵיהֶ֖םshe.nei.HemH8147madeוַיִּכְרְת֥וּvai.yikh.re.TuH3772a covenantבְּרִֽית׃be.RitH1285.

28Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֗ם'av.ra.HamH85אֶת־'et-H853separatedוַיַּצֵּ֣ב לְבַדְּהֶֽן׃vai.ya.Tzev le.va.de.HenH5324 H905sevenשֶׁ֛בַעShe.va'H7651ewe lambsכִּבְשֹׂ֥תkiv.SotH3535from the flockהַצֹּ֖אןha.TzonH6629,

29and Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֖לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40askedוַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֶל־vai.Yo.mer 'el-H559 H413himאַבְרָהָ֑ם'av.ra.HamH85, “Whyמָ֣ה הֵ֗נָּהmah He.nahH4100 H2007have you set apartהִצַּ֖בְתָּ לְבַדָּֽנָה׃hi.Tzav.ta le.va.Da.nahH5324 H905theseהָאֵ֔לֶּהha.'E.lehH428אֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834sevenשֶׁ֤בַעShe.va'H7651ewe lambsכְּבָשֹׂת֙ke.va.SotH3535?”

30He repliedוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559כִּ֚יkiH3588אֶת־'et-H853, “You are to acceptתִּקַּ֖חti.KachH3947the sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651ewe lambsכְּבָשֹׂ֔תke.va.SotH3535from my handמִיָּדִ֑יmi.ya.DiH3027as my witnessבַּעֲבוּר֙ תִּֽהְיֶה־ לְעֵדָ֔הba.'a.Vur tih.yeh- le.'e.DahH5668 H1961 H5713thatכִּ֥יkiH3588I dugחָפַ֖רְתִּיcha.Far.tiH2658אֶת־'et-H853thisהַזֹּֽאת׃ha.ZotH2063wellהַבְּאֵ֥רha.be.'ErH875.”

31Soעַל־ כֵּ֗ן'al- KenH5921 H3651thatהַה֖וּאha.Hu'H1931בְּאֵ֣רbe.'ErH884placeלַמָּק֥וֹםla.ma.KomH4725was calledקָרָ֛אka.Ra'H7121Beershebaשָׁ֑בַעSha.va'H884,becauseכִּ֛יkiH3588it was thereשָׁ֥םshamH8033that the twoשְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃she.nei.HemH8147of them swore an oathנִשְׁבְּע֖וּnish.be.'UH7650.

32After they had madeוַיִּכְרְת֥וּvai.yikh.re.TuH3772the covenantבְרִ֖יתve.RitH1285at BeershebaH884,Abimelechאֲבִימֶ֗לֶךְ'a.vi.Me.lekhH40and Phicolוּפִיכֹל֙u.fi.KholH6369the commanderשַׂר־sar-H8269of his armyצְבָא֔וֹtze.va.'OH6635got upוַיָּ֣קָםvai.Ya.komH6965and returnedוַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725toאֶל־'el-H413the landאֶ֥רֶץ'E.retzH776of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּֽים׃pe.lish.TimH6430.

33And Abraham plantedוַיִּטַּ֥עvai.yi.Ta'H5193a tamarisk treeאֶ֖שֶׁל'E.shelH815in BeershebaH884,and thereשָׁ֔םShamH8033he calledוַיִּ֨קְרָא־vai.Yik.ra'-H7121upon the nameבְּשֵׁ֥םbe.ShemH8034of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,the Eternalעוֹלָֽם׃o.LamH5769Godאֵ֥ל'elH410.

34And Abrahamאַבְרָהָ֛ם'av.ra.HamH85residedוַיָּ֧גָרvai.Ya.gorH1481in the landבְּאֶ֥רֶץbe.'E.retzH776of the Philistinesפְּלִשְׁתִּ֖יםpe.lish.TimH6430for a longרַבִּֽים׃ פra.BimH7227timeיָמִ֥יםya.MimH3117.
