6But the landהָאָ֖רֶץha.'A.retzH776was unableוְלֹא־ve.lo'-H3808to supportנָשָׂ֥אna.Sa'H5375both ofthemאֹתָ֛ם'o.TamH853while they stayedלָשֶׁ֣בֶתla.She.vetH3427togetherיַחְדָּ֑וyach.DavH3162,forכִּֽי־ki-H3588they hadהָיָ֤הha.YahH1961so manyרָ֔בRavH7227possessionsרְכוּשָׁם֙re.khu.ShamH7399that they were unableוְלֹ֥א יָֽכְל֖וּve.Lo' ya.khe.LuH3201H3808to coexistלָשֶׁ֥בֶת יַחְדָּֽו׃la.She.vet yach.DavH3427H3162.
7And there wasוַֽיְהִי־vay.hi-H1961discordרִ֗יבRivH7379betweenבֵּ֚יןbeinH996the herdsmenרֹעֵ֣יro.'EiH7462of Abramמִקְנֵֽה־ אַבְרָ֔ם וּבֵ֖יןmik.neh- 'av.Ram u.VeinH87H996H4735and the herdsmenרֹעֵ֣יro.'EiH7462of Lotמִקְנֵה־ ל֑וֹטmik.neh- LotH3876H4735.At that timeאָ֖ז'azH227the Canaanitesוְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ve.ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669and the Perizzitesוְהַפְּרִזִּ֔יve.hap.pe.ri.ZiH6522were also livingיֹשֵׁ֥בyo.ShevH3427in the landבָּאָֽרֶץ׃ba.'A.retzH776.
8So Abramאַבְרָ֜ם'av.RamH87saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toאֶל־'el-H413Lotל֗וֹטLotH3876, “Pleaseנָ֨אna'H4994let there beתְהִ֤יte.HiH1961noאַל־'al-H408contentionמְרִיבָה֙me.ri.VahH4808between you and meH996,or betweenH996your herdsmenרֹעַ֖יro.'AiH7462H996and my herdsmenרֹעֶ֑יךָro.'Ei.khaH7462.After allכִּֽי־ אֲנָשִׁ֥יםki- 'a.na.ShimH3588H582,weאֲנָֽחְנוּ׃'a.Na.che.nuH587are kinsmenאַחִ֖ים'a.ChimH251.
9Is notהֲלֹ֤אha.Lo'H3808the wholeכָל־khol-H3605landהָאָ֙רֶץ֙ha.'A.retzH776before youלְפָנֶ֔יךָle.fa.Nei.khaH6440?Nowנָ֖אna'H4994separate yourselfהִפָּ֥רֶדhi.Pa.redH6504from meמֵעָלָ֑יme.'a.LaiH5921.Ifאִם־'im-H518you go to the leftהַשְּׂמֹ֣אלha.se.MolH8040,I will go to the rightוְאֵימִ֔נָהve.'ei.Mi.nahH3231;ifוְאִם־ve.'im-H518you go to the rightהַיָּמִ֖יןhai.ya.MinH3225,I will go to the leftוְאַשְׂמְאִֽילָה׃ve.'as.me.'I.lahH8041.”
10And Lotל֣וֹטLotH3876אֶת־'et-H853looked outוַיִּשָּׂא־ עֵינָ֗יוvai.yi.sa'- 'ei.NavH5375H5869and sawוַיַּרְא֙vai.yaR'H7200אֶת־'et-H853that the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605plainכִּכַּ֣רki.KarH3603of the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן כִּ֥יhai.yar.Den kiH3383H3588,all the wayבֹּאֲכָ֖הbo.'a.KhahH935to Zoarצֹֽעַר׃Tzo.'arH6820,was well wateredמַשְׁקֶ֑הmash.KehH4945כֻלָּ֖הּkhu.LahH3605like the gardenכְּגַן־ke.gan-H1588of the LORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,like the landכְּאֶ֣רֶץke.'E.retzH776of Egyptמִצְרַ֔יִםmitz.Ra.yimH4714. (This was beforeלִפְנֵ֣י׀lif.NeiH6440the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068אֶת־'et-H853destroyedשַׁחֵ֣תsha.ChetH7843Sodomסְדֹם֙se.DomH5467וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and Gomorrahעֲמֹרָ֔ה'a.mo.RahH6017.)
11So Lotל֗וֹטLotH3876אֵ֚ת'etH853choseוַיִּבְחַר־vai.yiv.char-H977the wholeכָּל־kol-H3605plainכִּכַּ֣רki.KarH3603of the Jordanהַיַּרְדֵּ֔ןhai.yar.DenH3383for himself andל֖וֹטLotH3876set outוַיִּסַּ֥עvai.yi.Sa'H5265toward the eastמִקֶּ֑דֶםmi.Ke.demH6924.And Abram and Lot partedוַיִּפָּ֣רְד֔וּvai.yi.Pa.re.DuH6504companyאִ֖ישׁ מֵעַ֥ל אָחִֽיו׃'ish me.'Al 'a.ChivH5921H376H251.
