4So the youngH5288prophetהַנָּבִ֖יאha.na.Vi'H5030wentוַיֵּ֧לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980to Ramoth-gileadרָמֹ֥ת גִּלְעָֽד׃ra.Mot gil.'AdH7418 H1568,

5and when he arrivedוַיָּבֹ֗אvai.ya.Vo'H935,the armyהַחַ֙יִל֙ha.Cha.yilH2428commandersשָׂרֵ֤יsa.ReiH8269were sittingיֹֽשְׁבִ֔יםyo.she.VimH3427thereוְהִנֵּ֨הve.hi.NehH2009. “I have a messageדָּבָ֥רda.VarH1697for youאֵלֶ֖יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413,commanderהַשָּׂ֑רha.SarH8269,”he saidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559. “Forאֶל־'el-H413whichמִ֣יmiH4310of usמִכֻּלָּ֔נוּmi.ku.La.nuH3605?”askedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Jehuיֵהוּא֙ye.Hu'H3058. “For youאֵלֶ֥יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413,commanderהַשָּֽׂר׃ha.SarH8269,”he repliedוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559.

6So Jehu got upוַיָּ֙קָם֙vai.Ya.komH6965and wentוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935into the houseהַבַּ֔יְתָהha.Bay.tahH1004,where the young prophet pouredוַיִּצֹ֥קvai.yi.TzokH3332the oilהַשֶּׁ֖מֶןha.She.menH8081onאֶל־'el-H413his headרֹאשׁ֑וֹro.ShoH7218and declaredוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “This is whatכֹּֽה־koh-H3541the LORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068,the Godאֱלֹהֵ֣י'e.lo.HeiH430of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,saysאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559: ‘I anoint youמְשַׁחְתִּ֧יךָֽme.shach.Ti.khaH4886kingלְמֶ֛לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428overאֶל־'el-H413the LORD’sיְהוָ֖ה אֶל־Yah.weh 'el-H3068 H413peopleעַ֥ם'amH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

7And you are to strike downוְהִ֨כִּיתָ֔הve.Hi.ki.TahH5221אֶת־'et-H853the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of your masterאֲדֹנֶ֑יךָ'a.do.Nei.khaH113Ahabאַחְאָ֖ב'ach.'AvH256,so that I may avengeוְנִקַּמְתִּ֞יve.ni.kam.TiH5358the bloodדְּמֵ֣י׀de.MeiH1818of My servantsעֲבָדַ֣י'a.va.DaiH5650the prophetsהַנְּבִיאִ֗יםha.ne.vi.'ImH5030and the bloodוּדְמֵ֛יu.de.MeiH1818of allכָּל־kol-H3605the servantsעַבְדֵ֥י'av.DeiH5650of the LORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068shedby the handמִיַּ֥דmi.YadH3027of Jezebelאִיזָֽבֶל׃'i.Za.velH348.

8The wholeכָּל־kol-H3605houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֑ב'ach.'AvH256will perishוְאָבַ֖דve.'a.VadH6,and I will cut offוְהִכְרַתִּ֤יve.hikh.ra.TiH3772from Ahabלְאַחְאָב֙le.'ach.'AvH256every maleמַשְׁתִּ֣ין בְּקִ֔ירmash.Tin be.KirH8366 H7023,both slaveוְעָצ֥וּרve.'a.TzurH6113and freeוְעָז֖וּבve.'a.ZuvH5800,in Israelבְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃be.Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

9I will makeוְנָֽתַתִּי֙ve.na.ta.TiH5414אֶת־'et-H853the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Ahabאַחְאָ֔ב'ach.'AvH256like the housesכְּבֵ֖יתke.VeitH1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֣םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Nebatנְבָ֑טne.VatH5028andוּכְבֵ֖יתu.khe.VeitH1004Baashaבַּעְשָׁ֥אba'.Sha'H1201sonבֶן־ven-H1121of Ahijahאֲחִיָּֽה׃'a.chi.YahH281.

10Andוְאֶת־ve.'EtH853on the plotבְּחֵ֥לֶקbe.Che.lekH2506of groundat Jezreelיִזְרְעֶ֖אלyiz.re.'ElH3157the dogsהַכְּלָבִ֛יםha.ke.la.VimH3611will devourיֹאכְל֧וּyo.khe.LuH398Jezebelאִיזֶ֜בֶל'i.Ze.velH348,and there will be no oneוְאֵ֣יןve.'EinH369to buryקֹבֵ֑רko.VerH6912her.’”Then the young prophet openedוַיִּפְתַּ֥חvai.yif.TachH6605the doorהַדֶּ֖לֶתha.De.letH1817and ranוַיָּנֹֽס׃vai.ya.NosH5127.

11When Jehuוְיֵה֗וּאve.ye.Hu'H3058went outיָצָא֙ya.Tza'H3318toאֶל־'el-H413the servantsעַבְדֵ֣י'av.DeiH5650of his masterאֲדֹנָ֔יו'a.do.NavH113,they askedוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Is everything all rightהֲשָׁל֔וֹםha.sha.LomH7965?Whyמַדּ֛וּעַma.Du.a'H4069did thisהַזֶּ֖הha.ZehH2088madmanהַמְשֻׁגָּ֥עham.shu.Ga'H7696comeבָּֽא־ba'-H935to youאֵלֶ֑יךָ'e.Lei.khaH413?” “Youאַתֶּ֛ם'a.TemH859knowיְדַעְתֶּ֥םye.da'.TemH3045אֶת־'et-H853his kindהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853and their babbleשִׂיחֽוֹ׃si.ChoH7879,”he repliedוַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔םvai.Yo.mer 'a.lei.HemH559 H413.

12“That is a lieשֶׁ֔קֶרShe.kerH8267!”they saidוַיֹּאמְר֣וּvai.yo.me.RuH559. “Tellהַגֶּד־ha.ged-H5046usnowנָ֖אna'H4994!”So Jehu answeredוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “He talkedאָמַ֤ר'a.MarH559to meאֵלַי֙'e.LaiH413about thisכָּזֹ֤אתka.ZotH2063and thatוְכָזֹאת֙ve.kha.zoTH2063,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘This is whatכֹּ֚הkohH3541the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559:I anointמְשַׁחְתִּ֥יךָֽme.shach.Ti.khaH4886you kingלְמֶ֖לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428overאֶל־'el-H413Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.’”

13Quicklyוַֽיְמַהֲר֗וּvay.ma.ha.RuH4116,each manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376tookוַיִּקְחוּ֙vai.yik.ChuH3947his garmentבִּגְד֔וֹbig.DoH899and putוַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760itunderתַחְתָּ֖יוtach.TavH8478Jehuonאֶל־'el-H413the bareגֶּ֣רֶםGe.remH1634stepsהַֽמַּעֲל֑וֹתha.ma.'a.LotH4609.Then they blewוַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙vai.yit.ke.'UH8628the ram’s hornבַּשּׁוֹפָ֔רba.sho.FarH7782and proclaimedוַיֹּאמְר֖וּvai.yo.me.RuH559, “Jehuיֵהֽוּא׃ye.Hu'H3058is kingמָלַ֥ךְma.LakhH4427!”
