3And he didוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213what wasrightהַיָּשָׁר֙hai.ya.SharH3477in the eyesבְּעֵינֵ֣יbe.'ei.NeiH5869of the LORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068,butרַ֕קrakH7535notלֹ֖אlo'H3808as his fatherאָבִ֑יו'a.VivH1David had doneכְּדָוִ֣דke.da.VidH1732.He didעָשָׂ֛ה'a.SahH6213everythingכְּכֹ֧לke.KholH3605asאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834his fatherאָבִ֖יו'a.VivH1Joashיוֹאָ֥שׁyo.'AshH3101had doneעָשָֽׂה׃'a.SahH6213.

4Neverthelessרַ֥קrakH7535,the high placesהַבָּמ֖וֹתha.ba.MotH1116were notלֹא־lo'-H3808taken awayסָ֑רוּSa.ruH5493,and the peopleהָעָ֛םha.'AmH5971continuedע֥וֹדodH5750sacrificingמְזַבְּחִ֥יםme.za.be.ChimH2076and burning incenseוּֽמְקַטְּרִ֖יםu.me.ka.te.RimH6999on the high placesבַּבָּמֽוֹת׃ba.ba.MotH1116.

5וַיְהִ֕יvay.HiH1961As soon asכַּאֲשֶׁ֛רka.'a.SherH834the kingdomהַמַּמְלָכָ֖הha.mam.la.KhahH4467was firmlyחָזְקָ֥הcha.ze.KahH2388in his graspבְּיָד֑וֹbe.ya.DoH3027,Amaziah executedוַיַּךְ֙vai.yaKhH5221אֶת־'et-H853the servantsעֲבָדָ֔יו'a.va.DavH5650who had murderedהַמַּכִּ֖יםha.ma.KimH5221אֶת־'et-H853his fatherאָבִֽיו׃'a.VivH1the kingהַמֶּ֥לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428.

7Amaziahהוּא־hu'-H1931struck downהִכָּ֨הhi.KahH5221אֶת־'et-H85310,000עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת אֲלָפִ֔ים'a.Se.ret 'a.la.FimH6235 H505Edomitesאֱד֤וֹם'e.DomH123in the Valleyבְּגֵיא־be.gei'-H1516of Saltמֶ֙לַח֙me.lachH4417.He tookוְתָפַ֥שׂve.ta.FasH8610אֶת־'et-H853Selaהַסֶּ֖לַעha.Se.la'H5554in battleבַּמִּלְחָמָ֑הba.mil.cha.MahH4421and calledוַיִּקְרָ֤אvai.yik.Ra'H7121אֶת־'et-H853it Joktheelיָקְתְאֵ֔לya.ke.te.'ElH3371, which isits nameשְׁמָהּ֙she.MahH8034toעַ֖ד'adH5704this veryהַזֶּֽה׃ פha.ZehH2088dayהַיּ֥וֹםhai.YomH3117.

10You have indeed defeatedH5221אֶת־'et-H853Edomאֱד֔וֹם'e.DomH123,and your heartלִבֶּ֑ךָli.Be.khaH3820has become proudוּֽנְשָׂאֲךָ֖u.ne.sa.'a.KhaH5375.Gloryהִכָּבֵד֙hi.ka.VedH3513in thatand stayוְשֵׁ֣בve.ShevH3427at homeבְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָbe.vei.Te.khaH1004.Whyוְלָ֤מָּהve.La.mahH4100should you stir upתִתְגָּרֶה֙tit.ga.RehH1624troubleבְּרָעָ֔הbe.ra.'AhH7451so that you fallוְנָ֣פַלְתָּ֔הve.Na.fal.TahH5307—youאַתָּ֖ה'a.TahH859and Judahוִיהוּדָ֥הvi.hu.DahH3063with youעִמָּֽךְ׃'i.MakhH5973?”
