42Therefore theyturnedוַיִּפְנ֞וּvai.yif.NuH6437their backsbeforeלִפְנֵ֨יlif.NeiH6440themenאִ֤ישׁ'ishH376ofIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478to thewayדֶּ֣רֶךְDe.rekhH1870of thewildernessהַמִּדְבָּ֔רha.mid.BarH4057; but thebattleוְהַמִּלְחָמָ֖הve.ha.mil.cha.MahH4421overtookהִדְבִּיקָ֑תְהוּhid.bi.Ka.te.huH1692them; and those who came out of thecitiesמֵהֶ֣עָרִ֔יםme.He.'a.RimH5892theydestroyedמַשְׁחִיתִ֥יםmash.chi.TimH7843in themidstבְּתוֹכֽוֹ׃be.to.KhoH8432of them.
