3And hismenוַאֲנָשָׁ֧יוva.'a.na.ShavH582that were with him didDavidדָוִ֖דda.VidH1732bringupהֶעֱלָ֥הhe.'e.LahH5927, everymanאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376with hishouseholdוּבֵית֑וֹu.vei.ToH1004: and theydweltוַיֵּשְׁב֖וּvai.ye.she.VuH3427in thecitiesבְּעָרֵ֥יbe.'a.ReiH5892ofHebronחֶבְרֽוֹן׃chev.RonH2275.

4And themenאַנְשֵׁ֣י'an.SheiH582ofJudahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063cameוַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙vai.ya.Vo.'uH935, and there theyanointedוַיִּמְשְׁחוּ־vai.yim.she.chu-H4886Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732kingלְמֶ֖לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428over thehouseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004ofJudahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063. 5AndDavidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֤חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersמַלְאָכִ֔יםmal.'a.KhimH4397to themenאַנְשֵׁ֖י'an.SheiH582ofJabeshgileadיָבֵ֣ישׁ גִּלְעָ֑דya.Veish gil.'AdH3003 H1568, andsaidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to them,Blessedבְּרֻכִ֤יםbe.ru.KhimH1288be ye of theLORDלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068, that ye haveshownעֲשִׂיתֶ֜ם'a.si.TemH6213thiskindnessהַחֶ֣סֶדha.Che.sedH2617to yourlordאֲדֹֽנֵיכֶם֙'a.do.nei.KhemH113, even toSaulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586, and haveburiedוַֽתִּקְבְּר֖וּva.tik.be.RuH6912him.

6And now theLORDיְהוָ֥הYah.wehH3068showיַֽעַשׂ־ya.'as-H6213kindnessחֶ֣סֶדChe.sedH2617andtruthוֶאֱמֶ֑תve.'e.MetH571to you: and I also willrepayאֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה'e.'e.SehH6213you thiskindnessהַטּוֹבָ֣הha.to.VahH2896, because ye havedoneעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם'a.si.TemH6213thisthingהַדָּבָ֥רha.da.VarH1697.

7Therefore now let yourhandsיְדֵיכֶ֗םye.dei.KhemH3027bestrengthenedתֶּחֱזַ֣קְנָהte.che.Zak.nahH2388, and be yevaliantלִבְנֵי־ חַ֔יִלliv.nei- Cha.yilH1121 H2428: for yourmasterאֲדֹנֵיכֶ֣ם'a.do.nei.KhemH113Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586isdeadמֵ֖תmetH4191, and also thehouseבֵית־veit-H1004ofJudahיְהוּדָ֛הye.hu.DahH3063haveanointedמָשְׁח֧וּma.she.ChuH4886mekingלְמֶ֖לֶךְle.Me.lekhH4428over them.

8ButAbnerוְאַבְנֵ֣רve.'av.NerH74thesonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofNerנֵ֔רNerH5369,captainשַׂר־sar-H8269ofSaul’sלְשָׁא֑וּלle.sha.'UlH7586hostצָבָ֖אtza.Va'H6635,tookלָקַ֗חla.KachH3947IshboshethH378thesonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofSaulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586, and brought himoverוַיַּעֲבִרֵ֖הוּvai.ya.'a.vi.Re.huH5674toMahanaimמַחֲנָֽיִם׃ma.cha.Na.yimH4266;

9And he made himkingוַיַּמְלִכֵ֙הוּ֙vai.yam.li.Khe.huH4427overGileadהַגִּלְעָ֔דha.gil.'AdH1568, and over theAshuritesהָאֲשׁוּרִ֖יha.'a.shu.RiH805, and overJezreelיִזְרְעֶ֑אלyiz.re.'ElH3157, and overEphraimאֶפְרַ֙יִם֙'ef.Ra.yimH669, and overBenjaminבִּנְיָמִ֔ןbin.ya.MinH1144, and over allIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478.

13AndJoabוְיוֹאָ֨בve.yo.'AvH3097thesonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofZeruiahצְרוּיָ֜הtze.ru.YahH6870, and theservantsוְעַבְדֵ֤יve.'av.DeiH5650ofDavidדָוִד֙da.VidH1732, wentoutיָֽצְא֔וּya.tze.'UH3318, andmetוַֽיִּפְגְּשׁ֛וּםvai.yif.ge.ShumH6298togetherיַחְדָּ֑וyach.DavH3162by thepoolבְּרֵכַ֥תbe.re.KhatH1295ofGibeonגִּבְע֖וֹןgiv.'onH1391: and they satdownוַיֵּ֨שְׁב֜וּvai.Ye.she.VuH3427, the one on the one side of thepoolהַבְּרֵכָה֙ha.be.re.KhahH1295, and the other on the other side of thepoolהַבְּרֵכָ֖הha.be.re.KhahH1295.

14AndAbnerאַבְנֵר֙'av.NerH74saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559toJoabיוֹאָ֔בyo.'AvH3097, Let the youngmenהַנְּעָרִ֔יםha.ne.'a.RimH5288nowariseיָק֤וּמוּya.Ku.muH6965, andfightוִֽישַׂחֲק֖וּvi.sa.cha.KuH7832beforeלְפָנֵ֑ינוּle.fa.Nei.nuH6440us. 15Then therearoseוַיָּקֻ֖מוּvai.ya.Ku.muH6965and wentoverוַיַּעַבְר֣וּvai.ya.'av.RuH5674bynumberבְמִסְפָּ֑רve.mis.ParH4557twelveשְׁנֵ֧ים עָשָׂ֣רshe.Neim 'a.SarH8147 H6240ofBenjaminלְבִנְיָמִ֗ןle.vin.ya.MinH1144, who pertained toIshboshethH378thesonבֶּן־ben-H1121ofSaulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586, andtwelveוּשְׁנֵ֥ים עָשָׂ֖רu.she.Neim 'a.SarH8147 H6240of theservantsמֵעַבְדֵ֥יme.'av.DeiH5650ofDavidדָוִֽד׃da.VidH1732.

16And theycaughtוַֽיַּחֲזִ֜קוּvai.ya.cha.Zi.kuH2388everyoneאִ֣ישׁ׀'ishH376hisopponentרֵעֵ֗הוּre.'E.huH7453by theheadבְּרֹ֣אשׁbe.RoshH7218, and thrust hisswordוְחַרְבּוֹ֙ve.char.BoH2719in hisopponent’sרֵעֵ֔הוּre.'E.huH7453sideבְּצַ֣דbe.TzadH6654; so they felldownוַֽיִּפְּל֖וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307togetherיַחְדָּ֑וyach.DavH3162: therefore thatplaceלַמָּק֣וֹםla.ma.KomH4725wascalledוַיִּקְרָא֙vai.yik.Ra'H7121HelkathhazzurimH2521, which is inGibeonבְּגִבְעֽוֹן׃be.giv.'onH1391.
