4And thePhilistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֔יםfe.lish.TimH6430gathered themselvestogetherוַיִּקָּבְצ֣וּvai.yi.ka.ve.TzuH6908, andcameוַיָּבֹ֖אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935andencampedוַיַּחֲנ֣וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583inShunemבְשׁוּנֵ֑םve.shu.NemH7766: andSaulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586gatheredוַיִּקְבֹּ֤ץvai.yik.BotzH6908allIsraelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478togetherH6908, and theyencampedוַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּvai.ya.cha.NuH2583inGilboaבַּגִּלְבֹּֽעַ׃ba.gil.Bo.a'H1533.

5And whenSaulשָׁא֖וּלsha.'UlH7586sawוַיַּ֥רְאvai.Yar'H7200thehostמַחֲנֵ֣הma.cha.NehH4264of thePhilistinesפְלִשְׁתִּ֑יםfe.lish.TimH6430, he wasafraidוַיִּרָ֕אvai.yi.Ra'H3372, and hisheartלִבּ֖וֹli.BoH3820greatlyמְאֹֽד׃me.'OdH3966trembledוַיֶּחֱרַ֥דvai.ye.che.RadH2729.

6And whenSaulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586enquiredוַיִּשְׁאַ֤לvai.yish.'AlH7592of theLORDבַּֽיהוָ֔הba.Yah.wehH3068, theLORDיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068answeredעָנָ֖הוּ'a.Na.huH6030him not, neither bydreamsבַּחֲלֹמ֛וֹתba.cha.lo.MotH2472, nor byUrimבָּאוּרִ֖יםba.'u.RimH224, nor byprophetsבַּנְּבִיאִֽם׃ba.ne.vi.'ImH5030.

7Thensaidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559Saulשָׁא֜וּלsha.'UlH7586to hisservantsלַעֲבָדָ֗יוla.'a.va.DavH5650,Seekבַּקְּשׁוּ־ba.ke.shu-H1245me awomanאֵ֣שֶׁת'E.shetH802thatisבַּעֲלַת־ba.'a.lat-H1172amediumא֔וֹב'ovH178, that I maygoH3212to her, andenquireוְאֶדְרְשָׁה־ve.'ed.re.shah-H1875of her. 8AndSaulשָׁא֗וּלsha.'UlH7586disguisedוַיִּתְחַפֵּ֣שׂvai.yit.cha.PesH2664himself, and putonוַיִּלְבַּשׁ֙vai.yil.BashH3847otherאֲחֵרִ֔ים'a.che.RimH312raimentבְּגָדִ֣יםbe.ga.DimH899, and hewentH3212, andtwoוּשְׁנֵ֤יu.she.NeiH8147menאֲנָשִׁים֙'a.na.ShimH582with him, and theycameוַיָּבֹ֥אוּvai.ya.Vo.'uH935to thewomanהָאִשָּׁ֖הha.'i.ShahH802bynightלָ֑יְלָהLa.ye.lahH3915: and hesaidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, I pray thee,divineקָֽסֳמִיka.so.mi-H7080to me as amediumבָּא֔וֹבba.'ovH178, and bring up formeוְהַ֣עֲלִיve.Ha.'a.liH5927, whom I shallnameאֹמַ֖ר'o.MarH559to thee.

9And thewomanהָֽאִשָּׁ֜הha.'i.ShahH802saidוַתֹּ֨אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, Behold, thouknowestיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ya.Da'.taH3045whatSaulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586hathdoneעָשָׂ֣ה'a.SahH6213, how he hath cutoffהִכְרִ֛יתhikh.RitH3772those that aremediumsהָאֹב֥וֹתha.'o.VotH178, and thewizardsהַיִּדְּעֹנִ֖יhai.yi.de.'o.NiH3049, out of thelandהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776: Why then layest thou asnareמִתְנַקֵּ֥שׁmit.na.KeshH5367for mylifeבְּנַפְשִׁ֖יbe.naf.ShiH5315, to cause me todieלַהֲמִיתֵֽנִי׃la.ha.mi.Te.niH4191?

10AndSaulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586sworeוַיִּשָּׁ֤בַֽעvai.yi.Sha.va'H7650to her by theLORDבַּֽיהוָ֖הba.Yah.wehH3068,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, As theLORDיְהוָ֕הYah.wehH3068livethחַי־chai-H2416, thereshallאִֽם־'im-H518nopunishmentעָוֹ֖ן'a.VonH5771happenיִקְּרֵ֥ךְyi.ke.RekhH7136to thee for thisthingבַּדָּבָ֥רba.da.VarH1697.

11Thensaidוַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙va.To.merH559thewomanהָֽאִשָּׁ֔הha.'i.ShahH802, Whom shall I bringupאַֽעֲלֶה־'a.'a.leh-H5927to thee? And hesaidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, Bring meupהַֽעֲלִי־ha.'a.li-H5927Samuelשְׁמוּאֵ֖לshe.mu.'ElH8050.

17And theLORDיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068hathdoneוַיַּ֤עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213to him, as hespokeדִּבֶּ֣רdi.BerH1696bymeבְּיָדִ֑יbe.ya.DiH3027: for theLORDיְהוָ֤הYah.wehH3068hathtornוַיִּקְרַ֨עvai.yik.Ra'H7167thekingdomהַמַּמְלָכָה֙ha.mam.la.KhahH4467out of thyhandמִיָּדֶ֔ךָmi.ya.De.khaH3027, andgivenוַֽיִּתְּנָ֖הּvai.yi.te.NahH5414it to thyneighbourלְרֵעֲךָ֥le.re.'a.KhaH7453, even toDavidלְדָוִֽד׃le.da.VidH1732:
