Jeremiah 24
Revised Version 1895
1The LORDH3068 shewed meH6440, and, beholdH2009, twoH8147 basketsH1736 of figsH8384 setH935 beforeH6440 the templeH1964 of the LORDH3068; afterH310 that NebuchadrezzarH5019 kingH4428 of BabylonH894 had carriedH1540 awayH1540 captiveH1540 JeconiahH3204 the sonH1121 of JehoiakimH3079, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and the princesH8269 of JudahH3063, with the craftsmenH2796 and smithsH4525, from JerusalemH3389, and had broughtH935 them to BabylonH894. 2One basketH1731 had veryH3966 goodH2896 figsH8384, like the figsH8384 that are firstH259 ripe: and the otherH259 basketH1731 had veryH3966 badH7451 figsH8384, whichH834 could notH3808 be eatenH398, they were soH3808 badH7451. 3Then saidH559 the LORDH3068 unto meH413, WhatH4100 seest thou, JeremiahH3414? And I saidH559, FigsH8384; the goodH2896 figsH8384, veryH3966 goodH2896; and the badH7451, veryH3966 badH7451, that cannotH3808 be eatenH398, they are soH3808 badH7451. 4And the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 cameH1961 unto meH413, sayingH559, 5ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478; Like theseH428 goodH2896 figsH8384, soH3651 will I regardH428 the captivesH1546 of JudahH3063, whomH834 I have sentH7971 outH4480 of this placeH4725 intoH776 the landH776 of the ChaldeansH3778, for goodH2896. 6For I will setH7760 mine eyesH5869 uponH5921 them for goodH2896, and I will bringH7725 them againH7725 to this landH776: and I will buildH1129 them, and notH3808 pullH2040 them downH2040; and I will plantH5193 them, and notH3808 pluckH5428 them upH5921. 7And I will giveH5414 them an heartH3820 to knowH3045 meH413, that I am the LORDH3068: and they shall be my peopleH5971, and I will be their GodH430: for they shall returnH7725 unto meH413 with their wholeH3605 heartH3820. 8And as the badH7451 figsH8384, whichH834 cannotH3808 be eatenH398, they are soH3651 badH7451; surelyH3588 thusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, SoH3651 will I giveH5414 upH5414 ZedekiahH6667 the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, and his princesH8269, and the residue of JerusalemH3389, that remainH3427 in this landH776, and them that dwellH3427 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714: 9I will evenH776 giveH5414 them upH5414 to be tossed to and fro among allH3605 the kingdomsH4467 of the earthH776 for evilH7451; to be a reproachH2781 and a proverbH4912, a tauntH8148 and a curseH7045, in allH3605 placesH4725 whither I shall driveH5080 them. 10And I will sendH7971 the swordH2719, the famineH7458, and the pestilenceH1698, among them, tillH5704 they be consumedH8552 from offH5921 the landH127 that I gaveH5414 unto them and to their fathersH1.
