14Howbeit,becauseH3588by thisdeedבַּדָּבָ֖רba.da.VarH1697thou hastgivenנִאֵ֤ץni.'EtzH5006great occasion to theenemiesאֹיְבֵ֣י'o.ye.VeiH341of theLORDיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068toblasphemeנִאַ֙צְתָּ֙ni.'Atz.taH5006, thechildהַבֵּ֛ןha.BenH1121also that isbornהַיִּלּ֥וֹדhai.yi.LodH3209unto thee shallsurelyH3588dieH4191.

15AndNathanנָתָ֖ןna.TanH5416departed unto hishouseבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004. And theLORDיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068struckוַיִּגֹּ֣ףvai.yi.GofH5062thechildהַיֶּ֜לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206thatUriah’sאוּרִיָּ֛ה'u.ri.YahH223wifeאֵֽשֶׁת־'e.shet-H802bare untoDavidלְדָוִ֖דle.da.VidH1732, and it was verysickוַיֵּאָנַֽשׁ׃vai.ye.'a.NashH605.

16Davidדָּוִ֛דda.VidH1732therefore besoughtGodהָאֱלֹהִ֖יםha.'E.lo.HimH430for thechildהַנָּ֑עַרha.Na.'arH5288; andDavidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732fastedוַיָּ֤צָםvai.Ya.tzomH6684, andwentH935in, andlayH7901allH7901nightuponH935theearthאָֽרְצָה׃'A.re.tzahH776.

17And theeldersזִקְנֵ֤יzik.NeiH2205of hishouseבֵיתוֹ֙vei.ToH1004aroseH6965, andstoodH6965besideעָלָ֔יו'a.LavH5921him, toraiseH6965himupH6965from theearthהָאָ֑רֶץha.'A.retzH776: but he wouldnotH3808,neitherH3808didH3808he eatbreadלָֽחֶם׃La.chemH3899with them.

18And itcameH1961topassH1961on theseventhהַשְּׁבִיעִ֖יha.she.vi.'IH7637dayבַּיּ֥וֹםbai.YomH3117, that thechildהַיָּ֑לֶדhai.Ya.ledH3206diedוַיָּ֣מָתvai.Ya.motH4191. 19But whenDavidדָּוִ֗דda.VidH1732sawH7200that hisservantsעֲבָדָיו֙'a.va.DavH5650whispered together,Davidדָּוִ֖דda.VidH1732perceivedH7200that thechildהַיָּ֑לֶדhai.Ya.ledH3206wasdeadמֵ֣תmetH4191: andDavidדָּוִ֧דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto hisservantsעֲבָדָ֛יו'a.va.DavH5650, Is thechildהַיֶּ֖לֶדhai.Ye.ledH3206deadהֲמֵ֥תha.MetH4191? And theysaidוַיֹּ֥אמְרוּvai.Yo.me.ruH559, He isdeadמֵֽת׃MetH4191.

20ThenDavidדָּוִ֨דda.VidH1732aroseוַיָּקָם֩vai.ya.KamH6965from theearthמֵהָאָ֜רֶץme.ha.'A.retzH776, andwashedוַיִּרְחַ֣ץvai.yir.ChatzH7364, and anointedhimselfH7812, andchangedוַיְחַלֵּף֙vay.cha.LefH2498his apparel; and hecameוַיָּבֹ֥אvai.ya.Vo'H935intoH413thehouseבֵית־veit-H1004of theLORDיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068, and worshipped: then hecameוַיָּבֹא֙vai.ya.Vo'H935to his ownhouseבֵּית֔וֹbei.ToH1004; and when herequiredH7760theysetוַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּvai.ya.Si.muH7760breadלֶ֖חֶםLe.chemH3899beforeH413him, and hedidH7812eatוַיֹּאכַֽל׃vai.yo.KhalH398.

23Butnowוְעַתָּ֣ה׀ve.'a.TahH6258he isdeadמֵ֗תMetH4191, wherefore should Ifastצָ֔םTzamH6684?canהַאוּכַ֥לha.'u.KhalH3201Ibringלַהֲשִׁיב֖וֹla.ha.shi.VoH7725himbackH7725againע֑וֹדodH5750? I shallgoהֹלֵ֣ךְho.LekhH1980to him, but he shallnotלֹֽא־lo'-H3808returnיָשׁ֥וּבya.ShuvH7725tomeH413.
