1Thus hath the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069shewedהִרְאַ֙נִי֙hir.'A.niH7200unto me; and, behold, he formedיוֹצֵ֣רyo.TzerH3335grasshoppersגֹּבַ֔יgoyAiH1462in the beginningבִּתְחִלַּ֖תbit.chi.LatH8462of the shooting upעֲל֣וֹתa.LotH5927of the latter growthהַלָּ֑קֶשׁha.La.keshH3954; and, lo, it wasthe latter growthלֶ֔קֶשׁLe.keshH3954afterאַחַ֖ר'a.CharH310the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428mowingsגִּזֵּ֥יgi.ZeiH1488.

2And it came to pass, thatwhen they had made an endכִּלָּה֙ki.LahH3615of eatingלֶֽאֱכוֹל֙le.'e.khOlH398the grassעֵ֣שֶׂב'E.sevH6212of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,then I saidוָאֹמַ֗רva.'o.MarH559,O Lordאֲדֹנָ֤י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִה֙Yah.wehH3069,forgiveסְֽלַֽח־se.lach-H5545,I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacobיַֽעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290ariseיָק֖וּםya.KumH6965? for he issmallקָטֹ֖ןka.TonH6996.

3Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068repentedנִחַ֥םni.ChamH5162for this: It shall not be, saithאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.

4Thus hath the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֔הYah.wehH3069shewedהִרְאַ֙נִי֙hir.'A.niH7200unto me: and, behold, the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִ֑הYah.wehH3069calledקֹרֵ֛אko.Re'H7121to contendלָרִ֥בla.RivH7378by fireבָּאֵ֖שׁba.'EshH784,and it devouredוַתֹּ֙אכַל֙va.To.khalH398the greatרַבָּ֔הra.BahH7227deepתְּה֣וֹםte.HomH8415,and did eat upוְאָכְלָ֖הve.'a.khe.LahH398a partהַחֵֽלֶק׃ha.Che.lekH2506.

5Then saidוָאֹמַ֗רva.'o.MarH559I, O Lordאֲדֹנָ֤י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִה֙Yah.wehH3069,ceaseחֲדַל־cha.dal-H2308,I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290ariseיָק֖וּםya.KumH6965? for he issmallקָטֹ֖ןka.TonH6996.

6Yhwhיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068repentedנִחַ֥םni.ChamH5162for this: This also shall not be, saithאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136Yhwhיְהוִֽה׃ סYah.wehH3069.

7Thus he shewedהִרְאַ֔נִיhir.'A.niH7200me: and, behold, the Lordאֲדֹנָ֛י'a.do.NaiH136stoodנִצָּ֖בni.TzavH5324upon a wallחוֹמַ֣תcho.MatH2346madeby a plumblineאֲנָ֑ךְ'a.NakhH594,with a plumblineאֲנָֽךְ׃'a.NakhH594in his handוּבְיָד֖וֹu.ve.ya.DoH3027.

8And Yhwhיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, Amosעָמ֔וֹסa.MosH5986,what seestרֹאֶה֙ro.'EhH7200thou? And I saidוָאֹמַ֖רva.'o.MarH559,A plumblineאֲנָ֑ךְ'a.NakhH594.Then saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֗י'a.do.NaiH136,Behold, I will setשָׂ֤םsamH7760a plumblineאֲנָךְ֙'a.noKhH594in the midstבְּקֶ֙רֶב֙be.Ke.revH7130of my peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478:I will not againאוֹסִ֥יף'o.SifH3254pass byעֲב֥וֹרa.VorH5674them any more:

9And the high placesבָּמ֣וֹתba.MotH1116of Isaacיִשְׂחָ֔קyis.ChakH3446shall be desolateוְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ve.na.Sha.muH8074,and the sanctuariesוּמִקְדְּשֵׁ֥יu.mik.de.SheiH4720of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478shall be laid wasteיֶחֱרָ֑בוּye.che.Ra.vuH2717;and I will riseוְקַמְתִּ֛יve.kam.TiH6965against the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֖םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379with the swordבֶּחָֽרֶב׃ פbe.Cha.revH2719.

10Then Amaziahאֲמַצְיָה֙'a.matz.YahH558the priestכֹּהֵ֣ןko.HenH3548of Beth–elH1008sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֗חvai.yish.LachH7971to Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֥םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559,Amosעָמ֗וֹסa.MosH5986hath conspiredקָשַׁ֨רka.SharH7194against thee in the midstבְּקֶ֙רֶב֙be.Ke.revH7130of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478:the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776is not ableתוּכַ֣לtu.KhalH3201to bearלְהָכִ֖ילle.ha.KhilH3557all his wordsדְּבָרָֽיו׃de.va.RavH1697.

11For thus Amosעָמ֔וֹסa.MosH5986saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559,Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֑םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379shall dieיָמ֣וּתya.MutH4191by the swordבַּחֶ֖רֶבba.Che.revH2719,and Israelוְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478shall surelyגָּלֹ֥הga.LohH1540be led away captiveיִגְלֶ֖הyig.LehH1540out of their own landאַדְמָתֽוֹ׃ ס'ad.ma.ToH127.

12Also Amaziahאֲמַצְיָה֙'a.matz.YahH558saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto Amosעָמ֔וֹסa.MosH5986,O thou seerחֹזֶ֕הcho.ZehH2374,goH3212,flee thee awayבְּרַח־be.rach-H1272into the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063,and there eatוֶאֱכָל־ve.'e.khol-H398breadלֶ֔חֶםLe.chemH3899,and prophesyתִּנָּבֵֽא׃ti.na.Ve'H5012there:

13But prophesyלְהִנָּבֵ֑אle.hi.na.Ve'H5012not againתוֹסִ֥יףto.SifH3254any more at Beth–elH1008: for it isthe king’sמֶ֙לֶךְ֙Me.lekhH4428chapelמִקְדַּשׁ־mik.dash-H4720, and it isthe king’sמַמְלָכָ֖הmam.la.KhahH4467courtוּבֵ֥יתu.VeitH1004.

14Then answeredוַיַּ֤עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030Amosעָמוֹס֙'a.mOsH5986,and saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֔ה'a.matz.YahH558, I wasno prophetנָבִ֣יאna.Vi'H5030, neither wasI a prophet’sנָבִ֖יאna.Vi'H5030sonבֶן־ven-H1121; but I wasan herdmanבוֹקֵ֥רvo.KerH951,and a gathererוּבוֹלֵ֥סu.vo.LesH1103of sycomore fruitשִׁקְמִֽים׃shik.MimH8256:

15And Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068tookוַיִּקָּחֵ֣נִיvai.yi.ka.Che.niH3947me as I followedמֵאַחֲרֵ֖יme.'a.cha.ReiH310the flockהַצֹּ֑אןha.TzonH6629,And Yhwhיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559unto me, GoH3212,prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012unto my peopleעַמִּ֥י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

16Now therefore hearשְׁמַ֣עshe.Ma'H8085thou the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of Yhwhיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068:Thou sayestאֹמֵ֗ר'o.MerH559,Prophesyתִנָּבֵא֙ti.na.Ve'H5012not against Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478,and dropתַטִּ֖יףta.TifH5197not thy wordagainst the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Isaacיִשְׂחָֽק׃yis.ChakH3446.

17Therefore thus saithאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559Yhwhיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068;Thy wifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֞'ish.te.KhaH802shall be an harlotתִּזְנֶה֙tiz.NehH2181in the cityבָּעִ֤ירba.'IrH5892,and thy sonsוּבָנֶ֤יךָu.va.Nei.khaH1121and thy daughtersוּבְנֹתֶ֙יךָ֙u.ve.no.Tei.khaH1323shall fallיִפֹּ֔לוּyi.Po.luH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719,and thy landוְאַדְמָתְךָ֖ve.'ad.ma.te.KhaH127shall be dividedתְּחֻלָּ֑קte.chu.LakH2505by lineבַּחֶ֣בֶלba.Che.velH2256;and thou shalt dieתָּמ֔וּתta.MutH4191inH5921a pollutedטְמֵאָה֙te.me.'AhH2931landאֲדָמָ֤ה'a.da.MahH127:and Israelוְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478shall surelyגָּלֹ֥הga.LohH1540go into captivityיִגְלֶ֖הyig.LehH1540forth of his landאַדְמָתֽוֹ׃ ס'ad.ma.ToH127.
