1Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136GodH3068showedהִרְאַ֙נִי֙hir.'A.niH7200me, and beholdוְהִנֵּה֙ve.hi.NehH2009,He was formingיוֹצֵ֣רyo.TzerH3335alocust-swarmH1373when the springH3954cropH3954beganבִּתְחִלַּ֖תbit.chi.LatH8462to sproutעֲל֣וֹתa.LotH5927.And beholdוְהִ֨נֵּה־ve.Hi.neh-H2009,the springH3954cropH3954wasafterאַחַ֖ר'a.CharH310the king’sהַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ha.Me.lekhH4428mowingגִּזֵּ֥יgi.ZeiH1488.
2And it cameוְהָיָ֗הve.ha.YahH1961about,whenאִם־'im-H518it hadfinishedכִּלָּה֙ki.LahH3615eatingלֶֽאֱכוֹל֙le.'e.khOlH398the vegetationעֵ֣שֶׂב'E.sevH6212of the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776,that I saidוָאֹמַ֗רva.'o.MarH559, “Lordאֲדֹנָ֤י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068,pleaseנָ֔אNa'H4994pardonסְֽלַֽח־se.lach-H5545!Howמִ֥יmiH4310can Jacobיַֽעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290standיָק֖וּםya.KumH6965, For he issmallקָטֹ֖ןka.TonH6996?”
3The Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068changedH5162His mindH5162aboutעַל־'al-H5921thisH2088. “It shall not be,” saidאָמַ֥ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָֽה׃Yah.wehH3068.
4Thusכֹּ֤הkohH3541the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068showedהִרְאַ֙נִי֙hir.'A.niH7200me, and beholdוְהִנֵּ֥הve.hi.NehH2009,the Lordאֲדֹנָ֣י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068was callingקֹרֵ֛אko.Re'H7121to contendלָרִ֥בla.RivH7378with them byfireבָּאֵ֖שׁba.'EshH784,and it consumedוַתֹּ֙אכַל֙va.To.khalH398the greatרַבָּ֔הra.BahH7227deepתְּה֣וֹםte.HomH8415and began to consumeוְאָכְלָ֖הve.'a.khe.LahH398thefarmH2506landH2506.
5Then I saidוָאֹמַ֗רva.'o.MarH559, “Lordאֲדֹנָ֤י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068,pleaseנָ֔אNa'H4994stopחֲדַל־cha.dal-H2308!Howמִ֥יmiH4310can Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290standיָק֖וּםya.KumH6965,for he is smallקָטֹ֖ןka.TonH6996?”
6The LordH3068changedH5162His mindH5162aboutעַל־'al-H5921thisH2088. “Thisהִיא֙hi'H1931tooגַּם־gam-H1571shall not be,” saidאָמַ֖ר'a.MarH559the Lordאֲדֹנָ֥י'a.do.NaiH136 GodH3068.
7Thusכֹּ֣הkohH3541He showedהִרְאַ֔נִיhir.'A.niH7200me, and beholdוְהִנֵּ֧הve.hi.NehH2009,the Lordאֲדֹנָ֛י'a.do.NaiH136was standingנִצָּ֖בni.TzavH5324by averticalH594wallחוֹמַ֣תcho.MatH2346with a plumbH594lineH594in His handוּבְיָד֖וֹu.ve.ya.DoH3027.
8The Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, “Whatמָֽה־mah-H4100do you seeרֹאֶה֙ro.'EhH7200,Amosעָמ֔וֹסa.MosH5986?”And I saidוָאֹמַ֖רva.'o.MarH559, “A plumbH594lineH594.”Then the Lordאֲדֹנָ֗י'a.do.NaiH136saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “BeholdH2009I am about to putשָׂ֤םsamH7760aplumbH594lineH594In the midstבְּקֶ֙רֶב֙be.Ke.revH7130of My peopleעַמִּ֣י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478. I willspareעֲב֥וֹרa.VorH5674them noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808longerאוֹסִ֥יף ע֖וֹד'o.Sif odH3254H5750.
9Thehighבָּמ֣וֹתba.MotH1116placesH1116of IsaacH3327will be desolatedוְנָשַׁ֙מּוּ֙ve.na.Sha.muH8074And thesanctuariesוּמִקְדְּשֵׁ֥יu.mik.de.SheiH4720of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478laidH2717wasteיֶחֱרָ֑בוּye.che.Ra.vuH2717. Then I willriseוְקַמְתִּ֛יve.kam.TiH6965up againstעַל־'al-H5921the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֖םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379with the swordבֶּחָֽרֶב׃ פbe.Cha.revH2719.”

10Then Amaziahאֲמַצְיָה֙'a.matz.YahH558, thepriestכֹּהֵ֣ןko.HenH3548of BethelH1008,sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֗חvai.yish.LachH7971word toJeroboamיָרָבְעָ֥םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֖לYis.ra.'ElH3478,sayingלֵאמֹ֑רle.MorH559, “Amosעָמ֗וֹסa.MosH5986hasconspiredקָשַׁ֨רka.SharH7194againstעָלֶ֜יךָ'a.Lei.khaH5921you in the midstבְּקֶ֙רֶב֙be.Ke.revH7130of the houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478;the landהָאָ֔רֶץha.'A.retzH776is unableלֹא־ תוּכַ֣לlo'- tu.KhalH3808H3201to endureלְהָכִ֖ילle.ha.KhilH3557allכָּל־kol-H3605his wordsדְּבָרָֽיו׃de.va.RavH1697.
11For thusכֹה֙khohH3541Amosעָמ֔וֹסa.MosH5986saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559, ‘Jeroboamיָרָבְעָ֑םya.ra.ve.'AmH3379will dieיָמ֣וּתya.MutH4191by the swordבַּחֶ֖רֶבba.Che.revH2719and Israelוְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478will certainlyH1540goגָּלֹ֥הga.LohH1540from its landאַדְמָתֽוֹ׃ ס'ad.ma.ToH127into exileיִגְלֶ֖הyig.LehH1540.’”
12Then Amaziahאֲמַצְיָה֙'a.matz.YahH558saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Amosעָמ֔וֹסa.MosH5986, “Goלֵ֥ךְlekhH1980,you seerחֹזֶ֕הcho.ZehH2374,fleeבְּרַח־be.rach-H1272away to the landאֶ֣רֶץ'E.retzH776of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063and thereשָׁ֣םshamH8033eatוֶאֱכָל־ve.'e.khol-H398breadלֶ֔חֶםLe.chemH3899and thereוְשָׁ֖םve.ShamH8033do your prophesyingתִּנָּבֵֽא׃ti.na.Ve'H5012!
13Butnoלֹֽא־lo'-H3808longerתוֹסִ֥יף ע֖וֹדto.Sif odH3254H5750prophesyלְהִנָּבֵ֑אle.hi.na.Ve'H5012at BethelH1008, for it is asanctuaryמִקְדַּשׁ־mik.dash-H4720of the kingמֶ֙לֶךְ֙Me.lekhH4428and a royalמַמְלָכָ֖הmam.la.KhahH4467residenceוּבֵ֥יתu.VeitH1004.”
14Then Amosעָמוֹס֙'a.mOsH5986repliedוַיַּ֤עַןvai.Ya.'anH6030to Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֔ה'a.matz.YahH558, “I am not a prophetנָבִ֣יאna.Vi'H5030,norH3808am I thesonבֶן־ven-H1121of a prophetנָבִ֖יאna.Vi'H5030;for I am a herdsmanבוֹקֵ֥רvo.KerH951and agrowerH1103of sycamoreשִׁקְמִֽים׃shik.MimH8256figsH1103.
15But the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068tookוַיִּקָּחֵ֣נִיvai.yi.ka.Che.niH3947me fromfollowingמֵאַחֲרֵ֖יme.'a.cha.ReiH310the flockהַצֹּ֑אןha.TzonH6629and the Lordיְהוָ֔הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to me, ‘Goלֵ֥ךְlekhH1980prophesyהִנָּבֵ֖אhi.na.Ve'H5012to My peopleעַמִּ֥י'a.MiH5971Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.’
16Nowוְעַתָּ֖הve.'a.TahH6258hearשְׁמַ֣עshe.Ma'H8085the wordדְּבַר־de.var-H1697of the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068:you are sayingאֹמֵ֗ר'o.MerH559, ‘Youshall not prophesyתִנָּבֵא֙ti.na.Ve'H5012againstעַל־'al-H5921Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478norH3808shall youspeakתַטִּ֖יףta.TifH5197againstעַל־'al-H5921the houseבֵּ֥יתbeitH1004of IsaacH3327.’
17Thereforeלָכֵ֞ןla.KhenH3651,thusכֹּה־koh-H3541saysאָמַ֣ר'a.MarH559the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068, ‘Yourwifeאִשְׁתְּךָ֞'ish.te.KhaH802will becomeH2181a harlotH2181in the cityבָּעִ֤ירba.'IrH5892, yoursonsוּבָנֶ֤יךָu.va.Nei.khaH1121and your daughtersוּבְנֹתֶ֙יךָ֙u.ve.no.Tei.khaH1323will fallיִפֹּ֔לוּyi.Po.luH5307by the swordבַּחֶ֣רֶבba.Che.revH2719,your landוְאַדְמָתְךָ֖ve.'ad.ma.te.KhaH127will be parceledתְּחֻלָּ֑קte.chu.LakH2505up by a measuringlineבַּחֶ֣בֶלba.Che.velH2256and you yourselfוְאַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH859will dieתָּמ֔וּתta.MutH4191uponuncleanטְמֵאָה֙te.me.'AhH2931soilאֲדָמָ֤ה'a.da.MahH127.Moreover, Israelוְיִ֨שְׂרָאֵ֔לve.Yis.ra.'ElH3478will certainlyH1540goגָּלֹ֥הga.LohH1540from its landאַדְמָתֽוֹ׃ ס'ad.ma.ToH127into exileיִגְלֶ֖הyig.LehH1540.’”
