Jeremiah 22:10-19
101Do not weepH1058 for the deadH4191 or mournH5110 for him, But weepH1058 deeplyH1058 for the one who goesH1980 away; For 2he will neverH3808H5750 returnH7725 Or seeH7200 his nativeH4138 landH776.
11For thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 saysH559 regardingH413 34ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, kingH4428 of JudahH3063, who becameH4427 kingH4427 inH8478 the placeH8478 ofH8478 his fatherH1 JosiahH2977, whoH834 wentH3318 outH3318 from thisH2088 placeH4725: “He will neverH3808H5750 returnH7725 thereH8033; 12but in the placeH4725 whereH834H8033 they tookH1540 him intoH1540 exileH1540, thereH8033 he will 5dieH4191 and he will not seeH7200 thisH2088 landH776 againH5750.
13“WoeH1945 to him who buildsH1129 his houseH1004 6withoutH3808 righteousnessH6664, And his upstairsH5944 roomsH5944 withoutH3808 justiceH4941, Who usesH5647 his neighbor’sH7453 servicesH5647 withoutH2600 payH2600 And 7does not giveH5414 him his wagesH6467,14Who saysH559, ‘I will 8buildH1129 myself a largeH4060 houseH1004 With spaciousH7304 upstairsH5944 roomsH5944, And cutH7167 outH7167 its windowsH2474, 9PanelingH5603 it with 10cedarH730 and paintingH4886 it 11brightH8350 redH8350.’15Do you becomeH4427 aH4427 kingH4427 becauseH3588 you are competingH2734 in cedarH730? Did your fatherH1 not eatH398 and drinkH8354 And 12doH6213 justiceH4941 and righteousnessH6666? ThenH227 it was 13wellH2895 for him.16He pledH1777 the causeH1779 of the 14afflictedH6041 and the poorH34, ThenH227 it was wellH2895. 15Is that not what it means to knowH1847 Me?” DeclaresH5002 the LordH3068.17“But your eyesH5869 and your heartH3820 Are intent onlyH3588H518 upon your own 16dishonestH1215 gainH1215, And on 17sheddingH8210 innocentH5355 bloodH1818, And on practicingH6213 oppressionH6233 and extortionH4835.”
18ThereforeH3651 thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 saysH559 regardingH413 18JehoiakimH3079 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, kingH4428 of JudahH3063: “They will not 19mournH5594 for him: ‘20OhH1945, my brotherH251!’ or, ‘OhH1945, sisterH269!’ They will not mournH5594 for him: ‘OhH1945, for the masterH113!’ or, ‘OhH1945, for his splendorH1935!’19He will be 21buriedH6912 with a donkey’sH2543 burialH6900, DraggedH5498 offH5498 and thrownH7993 outH7993 beyondH4480H1973 the gatesH8179 of JerusalemH3389.
