Genesis 41:8-44
8Now in the morningH1242 1his spiritH7307 was troubledH6470, so he sentH7971 messengers and calledH7121 for allH3605 the 2soothsayerH2748 priestsH2748 of EgyptH4714, and allH3605 its 3wiseH2450 menH2450. And PharaohH6547 toldH5608 them his 4dreamsH2472, but 5thereH369 wasH369 noH369 oneH369 who could interpretH6622 them for PharaohH6547.
9Then the chiefH8269 cupbearerH4945 spokeH1696 to PharaohH6547, sayingH559, “I would make mentionH2142 todayH3117 of 6my own 7offensesH2399. 10PharaohH6547 wasH7107 8furiousH7107 with his servantsH5650, and 9he putH5414 me in confinementH4929 in the houseH1004 of the captainH8269 of the bodyguardH2876, both me and the chiefH8269 bakerH644. 11Then 10we hadH2492 a dreamH2472 oneH259 nightH3915, 11he and I; eachH376 of us dreamedH2492 according to the interpretationH6623 of his own dreamH2472. 12Now a HebrewH5680 youthH5288 was thereH8033 with us, a 12servantH5650 of the captainH8269 of the bodyguardH2876, and we toldH5608 him the dreams, and 13he interpretedH6622 our dreamsH2472 for us. For eachH376 manH376 he interpretedH6622 according to his own dreamH2472. 13And justH3512 14as he interpretedH6622 for us, soH3651 it happenedH1961; Pharaoh restoredH7725 me in my officeH3653, but he hangedH8518 15the chief baker.”
14Then PharaohH6547 sentH7971 word and 16calledH7121 for JosephH3130, and they 17hurriedlyH7323 broughtH7323 him out of the dungeonH953; and when he had shavedH1548 himself and changedH2498 his clothesH8071, he cameH935 to PharaohH6547. 15PharaohH6547 saidH559 to JosephH3130, “I have hadH2492 a dreamH2472, 18but noH369 oneH369 can interpretH6622 it; and 19I have heardH8085 20it saidH559 aboutH5921 you, that 21when you hearH8085 a dreamH2472 you can interpretH6622 it.” 16JosephH3130 then answeredH6030 PharaohH6547, sayingH559, “2223It has nothingH1107 toH1107 doH1107 withH1107 me; 24GodH430 will 25giveH6030 PharaohH6547 an answerH6030 for his own goodH7965.” 17So PharaohH6547 saidH1696 to JosephH3130, “In my dreamH2472, thereH2009 I was, standingH5975 on the bankH8193 of the NileH2975; 18and beholdH2009, sevenH7651 cowsH6510, 26fatH1277H1320 and fine-lookingH3303H8389 cameH5927 upH5927 out of the NileH2975, and they grazedH7462 in the marshH260 grassH260. 19Then beholdH2009, sevenH7651 otherH312 cowsH6510 cameH5927 upH5927 afterH310 them, poorH1800 and veryH3966 27uglyH7451H8389 and 28thinH7534H1320, suchH2007 as I had neverH3808 seenH7200 for 29uglinessH7455 in allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714; 20and the thinH7534 and uglyH7451 cowsH6510 ateH398 the firstH7223 sevenH7651 fatH1277 cowsH6510. 21Yet when they had 30devouredH935H7130 them, it could not be 31detectedH3045 that they had 32devouredH935H7130 them, 33for they were justH3512 asH3512 uglyH7451 as 34beforeH8462. Then I awokeH3364. 22I sawH7200 also in my dreamH2472, and beholdH2009, sevenH7651 earsH7641 ofH7641 grainH7641, fullH4392 and goodH2896, cameH5927 upH5927 on a singleH259 stalkH7070; 23and beholdH2009, sevenH7651 earsH7641, witheredH6798, thinH1851, and scorchedH7710 by the eastH6921 windH6921 sproutedH6779 upH6779 afterH310 them; 24and the thinH1851 earsH7641 swallowedH1104 the sevenH7651 goodH2896 earsH7641. Then 35I toldH559 it to the soothsayerH2748 priestsH2748, but thereH369 wasH369 noH369 oneH369 who could explainH5046 it to me.”
25And JosephH3130 saidH559 to PharaohH6547, “Pharaoh’sH6547 36dreamsH2472 are oneH259 and the same; 37GodH430 has toldH5046 to PharaohH6547 whatH853H834 He is about to doH6213. 26The sevenH7651 goodH2896 cowsH6510 are sevenH7651 yearsH8141; and the sevenH7651 goodH2896 earsH7641 are sevenH7651 yearsH8141; the 38dreamsH2472 are oneH259 and the same. 27The sevenH7651 thinH7534 and uglyH7451 cowsH6510 that cameH5927 upH5927 afterH310 them are sevenH7651 yearsH8141, and the sevenH7651 thinH7534 earsH7641 scorchedH7710 by the eastH6921 windH6921 39will be sevenH7651 yearsH8141 of famineH7458. 2840It is as I have spokenH1696 to PharaohH6547: 41GodH430 has shownH7200 PharaohH6547 whatH834 He is about to doH6213. 29BeholdH2009, 42sevenH7651 yearsH8141 of greatH1419 abundanceH7647 are comingH935 in allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714; 30and afterH310 them 43sevenH7651 yearsH8141 of famineH7458 will 44comeH6965, and allH3605 the abundanceH7647 will be forgottenH7911 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, and the famineH7458 will 45ravageH3615 the landH776. 31So the abundanceH7647 will beH3045 unknownH3045H3808 in the landH776 becauseH4480H6440 of that subsequentH310 famineH7458; for it will be veryH3966 severeH3515. 32Now as for the repeatingH8138 of the dreamH2472 to PharaohH6547 twiceH6471, it means that 46the matterH1697 is confirmedH3559 by GodH430, and GodH430 will quicklyH4116 bringH6213 it aboutH6213. 33So nowH6258 let PharaohH6547 lookH7200 for a manH376 47discerningH995 and wiseH2450, and appointH7896 him overH5921 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 34Let PharaohH6547 takeH6213 actionH6213 to appointH6485 overseersH6496 48inH5921 chargeH5921 ofH5921 the landH776, and let him takeH2567 aH2567 fifthH2567 of the produce of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 as a tax in the sevenH7651 yearsH8141 of abundanceH7647. 35Then have them 49collectH6908 allH3605 the foodH3978 of theseH428 goodH2896 yearsH8141 that are comingH935, and storeH6651 upH6651 the grainH1250 for foodH400 in the citiesH5892 underH8478 Pharaoh’sH6547 authorityH3027, and have them guardH8104 it. 36Let the foodH400 be used as a reserveH6487 for the landH776 for the sevenH7651 yearsH8141 of famineH7458 whichH834 will occurH1961 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, so that the landH776 will not perishH3772 during the famineH7458.”
37Now the 50proposalH1697 seemedH3190 goodH3190 51to PharaohH6547 and 52to allH3605 his servantsH5650. 38Then PharaohH6547 saidH559 to his servantsH5650, “Can we findH4672 a manH376 like thisH2088, 53in whomH834 there is a divineH430 spiritH7307?” 39So PharaohH6547 saidH559 to JosephH3130, “SinceH310 GodH430 has informedH3045 you of allH3605 thisH2088, thereH369 isH369 noH369 oneH369 as 54discerningH995 and wiseH2450 as you are. 4055You shall be 56inH5921 chargeH5921 ofH5921 my houseH1004, and allH3605 my peopleH5971 shall 57beH5401 obedientH5401H5921H6310 to you; onlyH7534 regarding the throneH3678 will I be greaterH1431 thanH4480 you.” 41PharaohH6547 also saidH559 to JosephH3130, “SeeH7200, I have placedH5414 you 58overH5921 allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714.” 42Then PharaohH6547 59tookH5493 offH5493 his signetH2885 ringH2885 from his handH3027 and putH5414 it on Joseph’sH3130 handH3027, and clothedH3847 him in garmentsH899 of fineH8336 linenH8336, and 60putH7760 the goldH2091 necklaceH7242 aroundH5921 his neckH6677. 43And he had him rideH7392 in 61his secondH4932 chariotH4818; and they proclaimedH7121 aheadH6440 of him, “62BowH86 theH86 kneeH86!” And he placedH5414 him overH5921 allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714. 44Moreover, PharaohH6547 saidH559 to JosephH3130, “Though I am PharaohH6547, yet 63withoutH1107 64your permission noH3808 oneH376 shall raiseH7311 his handH3027 or footH7272 in allH3605 the landH776 of EgyptH4714.”
