Genesis 3:1-16
1Now 1the serpentH5175 was moreH4480 cunningH6175 thanH4480 anyH3605 animalH2421 of the fieldH7704 whichH834 the LordH3068 GodH430 had madeH6213. And he saidH559 to the womanH802, “Has GodH430 reallyH637H3588 saidH559, ‘You shall not eatH398 from anyH3605 treeH6086 of the gardenH1588’?” 2The womanH802 saidH559 to the serpentH5175, “2From the fruitH6529 of the treesH6086 of the gardenH1588 we may eatH398; 3but from the fruitH6529 of the treeH6086 whichH834 is in the middleH8432 of the gardenH1588, GodH430 has saidH559, ‘You shall not eatH398 from it or touchH5060 it, or you will dieH4191.’” 43The serpentH5175 saidH559 to the womanH802, “You certainlyH4191 will not dieH4191! 5For GodH430 knowsH3045 that on the dayH3117 you eatH398 from it your eyesH5869 will be openedH6491, and 4you will 5becomeH1961 like GodH430, knowingH3045 goodH2896 and evilH7451.” 66When the womanH802 sawH7200 that the treeH6086 was goodH2896 for foodH3978, and that it was a delightH8378 to the eyesH5869, and that the treeH6086 was desirableH2530 to makeH7919 one wiseH7919, she tookH3947 someH4480 of its fruitH6529 and ateH398; and she alsoH1571 gaveH5414 some to her husbandH376 with her, and he ateH398. 7Then the eyesH5869 of bothH8147 of them were openedH6491, and they 7knewH3045 that they were nakedH5903; and they sewedH8609 figH8384 leavesH5929 togetherH8609 and madeH6213 themselvesH1992 waistH2290 coveringsH2290.
8Now they heardH8085 the soundH6963 of 8the LordH3068 GodH430 walkingH1980 in the gardenH1588 in the 9coolH7307 of the dayH3117, 10and the manH120 and his wifeH802 hidH2244 themselves from the presenceH6440 of the LordH3068 GodH430 amongH8432 the treesH6086 of the gardenH1588. 9Then the LordH3068 GodH430 calledH7121 to the manH120, and saidH559 to him, “11WhereH335 are you?” 10He saidH559, “12I heardH8085 the soundH6963 of You in the gardenH1588, and I wasH3372 afraidH3372 becauseH3588 I was nakedH5903; so I hidH2244 myself.” 11And He saidH559, “WhoH4310 toldH5046 you that you were nakedH5903? Have you eatenH398 from the treeH6086 from whichH834 I commandedH6680 you not to eatH398?” 1213The manH120 saidH559, “The womanH802 whomH834 You gaveH5414 to be with me, she gaveH5414 me someH4480 of the fruit of the treeH6086, and I ateH398.” 13Then the LordH3068 GodH430 saidH559 to the womanH802, “WhatH4100 is thisH2088 that you have doneH6213?” And the womanH802 saidH559, “14The serpentH5175 deceivedH5378 me, and I ateH398.” 14Then the LordH3068 GodH430 saidH559 to the serpentH5175, “15BecauseH3588 you have doneH6213 thisH2088, CursedH779 are you moreH4480 thanH4480 allH3605 the livestockH929, And moreH4480 thanH4480 anyH3605 animalH2421 of the fieldH7704; On your bellyH1512 you shall goH1980, And 16dustH6083 you shall eatH398 AllH3605 the daysH3117 of your lifeH2425;15And I will 1718makeH7896 enemiesH342 Of you and the womanH802, And of your 19offspringH2233 and her 20DescendantH2233; 21He shall 22bruiseH7779 you on the headH7218, And you shall bruiseH7779 Him on the heelH6119.” 16To the womanH802 He saidH559, “I will greatlyH7235 multiplyH7235 Your painH6093 23in childbirthH2032, In painH6089 you shall 24deliverH3205 childrenH1121; Yet your desireH8669 will be for your husbandH376, And 25he shall ruleH4910 over you.”
