Genesis 2:7-18
7Then the LordH3068 GodH430 formedH3335 the manH120 of 1dustH6083 from the groundH127, and breathedH5301 into his nostrilsH639 the breathH5397 of lifeH2425; and the 2manH120 becameH1961 a livingH2416 3personH5315. 8The LordH3068 GodH430 plantedH5193 a 4gardenH1588 towardH4480 the eastH6924, in EdenH5731; and thereH8033 He placedH7760 the manH120 whomH834 He had formedH3335. 9Out of the groundH127 the LordH3068 GodH430 caused 5everyH3605 treeH6086 to growH6779 that is pleasingH2530 to the sightH4758 and goodH2896 for foodH3978; 6the treeH6086 of lifeH2425 was also in the midstH8432 of the gardenH1588, and the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451.
10Now a 7riverH5104 8flowedH3318 outH3318 of EdenH5731 to waterH8248 the gardenH1588; and from thereH8033 it dividedH6504 and becameH1961 fourH702 9riversH7218. 11The nameH8034 of the firstH259 is PishonH6376; it 10flowsH5437 aroundH5437 the wholeH3605 landH776 of 11HavilahH2341, whereH834H8033 thereH8033 is goldH2091. 12The goldH2091 of that landH776 is goodH2896; the bdelliumH916 and the onyxH7718 stoneH68 are thereH8033 as well. 13The nameH8034 of the secondH8145 riverH5104 is GihonH1521; it 12flowsH5437 aroundH5437 the wholeH3605 landH776 of CushH3568. 14The nameH8034 of the thirdH7992 riverH5104 is 1314TigrisH2313; it 15flowsH1980 eastH6926 of AssyriaH804. And the fourthH7243 riverH5104 is the 1617EuphratesH6578.
15Then the LordH3068 GodH430 tookH3947 the manH120 and putH5117 him in the GardenH1588 of EdenH5731 to cultivateH5647 it and tendH8104 it. 16The LordH3068 GodH430 18commandedH6680 the manH120, sayingH559, “From anyH3605 treeH6086 of the gardenH1588 you may freelyH398 eatH398; 17but from the treeH6086 of the knowledgeH1847 of goodH2896 and evilH7451 you shall not 19eatH398, for on the dayH3117 that you eatH398 from it 20you will certainlyH4191 dieH4191.”
18Then the LordH3068 GodH430 saidH559, “It is not goodH2896 for the manH120 to be aloneH905; 21I will makeH6213 him a helperH5828 22suitableH5048 for him.”
