Genesis 19:1-22
1Now the 1twoH8147 angelsH4397 cameH935 to SodomH5467 in the eveningH6153 as LotH3876 was sittingH3427 at the gateH8179 of SodomH5467. When 2LotH3876 sawH7200 them, he stoodH6965 upH6965 to meetH7122 them and 3bowedH2331 downH2331 with his faceH639 to the groundH776. 2And he saidH559, “NowH4994 beholdH2009, my lordsH136, pleaseH4994 turnH5493 asideH5493 into your servant’sH5650 houseH1004, and spendH3885 theH3885 nightH3885, and washH7364 your feetH7272; then you may riseH7925 earlyH7925 and goH1980 on your wayH1870.” They saidH559, “NoH3808, but we shall spendH3885 theH3885 nightH3885 in the publicH7339 squareH7339.” 3Yet he stronglyH3966 urgedH6484 them, so they turnedH5493 asideH5493 to him and enteredH935 his houseH1004; 4and he preparedH6213 a feastH4960 for them and bakedH644 unleavenedH4682 breadH4682, and they ateH398. 4BeforeH2962 they layH7901 downH7901, 5the menH376 of the cityH5892--the menH376 of SodomH5467--surroundedH5437 the houseH1004, bothH4480 youngH5288 and oldH2205, allH3605 the peopleH5971 6from every quarterH7097; 5and they calledH7121 to LotH3876 and saidH559 to him, “7WhereH346 are the menH376 whoH834 cameH935 to you tonightH3915? BringH3318 them outH3318 to us that we may 8haveH3045 relationsH3045 with them.” 6But LotH3876 wentH3318 outH3318 to them at the doorwayH6607, and shutH5462 the doorH1817 behindH310 him, 7and saidH559, “PleaseH4994, my brothersH251, do not actH7489 wickedlyH7489. 8NowH4994 lookH2009, 9I have twoH8147 daughtersH1323 whoH834 have not 10hadH3045 relationsH3045 with any manH376; pleaseH4994 let me bringH3318 them outH3318 to you, and doH6213 to them 11whateverH2896H5869 you likeH2896H5869; onlyH7534 do not doH6213 anythingH1697 to theseH411 menH376, becauseH3588H5921H3651 they have comeH935 under the 12shelterH6738 of my roofH6982.” 9But they saidH559, “GetH5066 outH1973 ofH1973 theH1973 wayH1973!” They also saidH559, “This oneH259 cameH935 inH935 13as a foreignerH1481, and alreadyH8199 14he is actingH8199 likeH8199 aH8199 judgeH8199; nowH6258 we will treatH7489 you worseH7489 thanH4480 them!” So they pressedH6484 hardH3966 against 15LotH3876 and movedH5066 forwardH5066 to breakH7665 the doorH1817. 10But 16the menH376 reachedH7971 outH7971 their 17handsH3027 and broughtH935 LotH3876 into the houseH1004 18with them, and shutH5462 the doorH1817. 11Then 19they struckH5221 the menH376 whoH834 were at the doorwayH6607 of the houseH1004 with blindnessH5575, fromH4480 the smallH6996 to the greatH1419, so that they becameH3811 wearyH3811 of trying to findH4672 the doorwayH6607.
12Then the two menH376 saidH559 to LotH3876, “WhomH4310 elseH5750 do you have hereH6311? A son-in-lawH2860 and your sonsH1121 and daughtersH1323, and whomeverH3605H834 you have in the cityH5892, bringH3318 them outH3318 of the placeH4725; 13for we are about to destroyH7843 thisH2088 placeH4725, becauseH3588 20their outcryH6818 has becomeH1431 so greatH1431 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 that 21the LordH3068 has sentH7971 us to destroyH7843 it.” 14So LotH3876 wentH3318 outH3318 and spokeH1696 to his sons-in-lawH2860, who 22were to marryH3947 his daughtersH1323, and saidH559, “Up, 23getH3318 outH3318 of thisH2088 placeH4725, for the LordH3068 is destroyingH7843 the cityH5892.” 24But he appearedH1961H5869 to his sons-in-lawH2860 25to be jokingH6711.
15WhenH3644 morningH7837 dawnedH5927, the angelsH4397 urgedH213 LotH3876, sayingH559, “Up, takeH3947 your wifeH802 and your twoH8147 daughtersH1323 who areH4672 hereH4672, orH6435 you will be sweptH5595 awayH5595 in the 26punishmentH5771 of the cityH5892.” 16But he hesitatedH4102. So the menH376 27graspedH2388 his handH3027 and the handH3027 of his wifeH802 and the 28handsH3027 of his twoH8147 daughtersH1323, because 29the compassionH2551 of the LordH3068 was upon him; and they broughtH3318 him outH3318 and putH5117 him outsideH4480H2351 the cityH5892. 17When they had broughtH3318 them outsideH2351, 30one saidH559, “31EscapeH4422 for your lifeH5315! 32Do not lookH5027 behindH310 you, and do not stayH5975 33anywhereH3605 in the 34surroundingH3603 areaH3603; escapeH4422 to 35the 36mountainsH2022, orH6435 you will be sweptH5595 awayH5595.” 18But LotH3876 saidH559 to them, “OhH4994 noH408, my lordsH136! 19NowH4994 beholdH2009, your servantH5650 has foundH4672 favorH2580 in your sightH5869, and you have magnifiedH1431 your compassionH2617, whichH834 you have shownH6213 me by savingH2421 my lifeH5315; but I cannotH3201H3808 escapeH4422 to the 37mountainsH2022, for the disasterH7463 will overtakeH1692 me and I will dieH4191; 20nowH4994 beholdH2009, thisH2088 townH5892 is nearH7138 enough to fleeH5127 to, and it is smallH4705. PleaseH4994, let me escapeH4422 thereH8033 (is it not smallH4705?) 38so that my lifeH5315 may be savedH2421.” 21And he saidH559 to him, “BeholdH2009, I grantH5375 you thisH2088 39requestH1697 alsoH1571, not to overthrowH2015 the townH5892 of whichH834 you have spokenH1696. 22HurryH4116, escapeH4422 thereH8033, for I cannotH3201H3808 doH6213 anythingH1697 untilH5704 you arriveH935 thereH8033.” ThereforeH5921H3651 the townH5892 was namedH7121H8034 4041ZoarH6820.
