12 3BeH8104 carefulH8104 that you do not makeH3772 a covenantH1285 with the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776 into whichH834 you are goingH935, orH6435 it will becomeH1961 a snareH4170 in your midstH7130.

13 4But rather, you are to tearH5422 downH5422 their altarsH4196 and smashH7665 their memorialH4676 stonesH4676, and cutH3772 downH3772 their 5 6AsherimH842

14--for 7you shall not worshipH2331 anyH312 otherH312 godH410, becauseH3588 the LordH3068, whose nameH8034 is JealousH7067, is a jealousH7067 GodH410--

15otherwiseH6435 you mightH6435 makeH3772 a covenantH1285 with the inhabitantsH3427 of the landH776, and they would prostituteH2181 themselves with their godsH430 and 8sacrificeH2076 to their godsH430, and someone 9might inviteH7121 you 10to eatH398 of his sacrificeH2077,

16and 11you might takeH3947 someH4480 of his daughtersH1323 for your sonsH1121, and his daughtersH1323 might prostituteH2181 themselves with their godsH430 and cause your sonsH1121 also to prostituteH2181 themselves with their godsH430.
