Exodus 2:8-17

8Pharaoh’sH6547 daughterH1323 saidH559 to her, “GoH1980 ahead.” So the girlH5959 wentH1980 and calledH7121 the child’sH3206 motherH517. 9Then Pharaoh’sH6547 daughterH1323 saidH559 to her, “TakeH1980 thisH2088 childH3206 away and nurseH3243 him for me, and I will giveH5414 you your wagesH7939.” So the womanH802 tookH3947 the childH3206 and nursedH5134 him. 10And the childH3206 grewH1431, and she broughtH935 him to Pharaoh’sH6547 daughterH1323 and 1he becameH1961 her sonH1121. And she namedH7121H8034 him 2MosesH4872, and saidH559, “BecauseH3588 I drewH4871 him outH4871 of the waterH4325.”

11Now it cameH1961 aboutH1961 in thoseH1992 daysH3117, 3when MosesH4872 had grownH1431 upH1431, that he wentH3318 outH3318 to his 4fellowH251 HebrewsH251 and lookedH7200 at their 56hardH5450 laborsH5450; and 7he sawH7200 an EgyptianH4713 beatingH5221 a HebrewH5680, oneH4480 of his 8fellowH251 HebrewsH251. 12So he 9lookedH6437 thisH3541 wayH3541 and thatH3541, and when he sawH7200 that thereH369 wasH369 noH369 oneH376 around, he 10struckH5221 andH5221 killedH5221 the EgyptianH4713, and hidH2934 11his body in the sandH2344. 13Now he wentH3318 outH3318 12the nextH8145 dayH3117, and beholdH2009, twoH8147 HebrewsH5680 were 13fightingH5327 with each other; and he saidH559 to the 14offenderH7563, “WhyH4100 are you strikingH5221 your companionH7453?” 14But he saidH559, “15WhoH4310 madeH7760 you a 16rulerH8269 and a judgeH8199 overH5921 us? Do you 17intendH559 to killH2026 me as you killedH2026 the EgyptianH4713?” Then MosesH4872 wasH3372 afraidH3372 and saidH559, “SurelyH403 the matterH1697 has become knownH3045!” 15When PharaohH6547 heardH8085 about thisH2088 matterH1697, he triedH1245 to killH2026 MosesH4872. But 18MosesH4872 fledH1272 from the presenceH6440 of PharaohH6547 and 19settledH3427 in the landH776 of MidianH4080, and he satH3427 downH3427 20by a wellH875.

16Now 21the priestH3548 of MidianH4080 had sevenH7651 daughtersH1323; and 22they cameH935 to drawH1802 waterH1802 and filledH4390 the troughsH7298 to waterH8248 their father’sH1 flockH6629. 17Then the shepherdsH7462 cameH935 and droveH1644 them awayH1644, but 23MosesH4872 stoodH6965 upH6965 and helpedH3467 them and wateredH8248 their flockH6629.
