Kings 8:7-13

Then ElishaH477 cameH935 to 1DamascusH1834. Now 2Ben-hadadH1130, the kingH4428 of AramH758, wasH2470 sickH2470, and it was toldH5046 to him, sayingH559, “3The manH376 of GodH430 has comeH935 hereH5704H2008.”

And the kingH4428 saidH559 to 4HazaelH2371, “5TakeH3947 a giftH4503 in your handH3027 and goH1980 to meetH7122 the manH376 of GodH430, and 6inquireH1875 of the LordH3068 by him, sayingH559, ‘Will I recoverH2421 from thisH2088 sicknessH2483?’”

So HazaelH2371 wentH1980 to meetH7122 him and tookH3947 a giftH4503 in his handH3027, even everyH3605 kind of goodH2898 thingH2898 of DamascusH1834, fortyH705 camels’H1581 loadsH4853; and he cameH935 and stoodH5975 beforeH6440 him and saidH559, “7Your sonH1121 Ben-hadadH1130 kingH4428 of AramH758 has sentH7971 me to you, sayingH559, ‘Will I recoverH2421 from thisH2088 sicknessH2483?’”

Then ElishaH477 saidH559 to him, “8GoH1980, sayH559 to him, ‘You will certainlyH2421 recoverH2421’; but the 9LordH3068 has shownH7200 me that he will certainlyH4191 dieH4191.”

And he 10staredH5975H6440 steadilyH7760 at him 11untilH5704 Hazael wasH954 embarrassedH954, and then 12the manH376 of GodH430 weptH1058.

And HazaelH2371 saidH559, “WhyH4069 is my lordH113 weepingH1058?” And he 13answeredH559, “BecauseH3588 14I knowH3045 the evilH7463 that you will doH6213 to the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478: you will setH7971 their fortifiedH4013 citiesH4013 on fireH784, you will killH2026 their youngH970 menH970 with the swordH2719, their littleH5768 onesH5768 you 15will smashH7376 toH7376 piecesH7376, and you will ripH1234 upH1234 their pregnantH2030 womenH2030.”

Then HazaelH2371 saidH559, “But whatH4100 is your servantH5650--16a lowly dogH3611--that he could doH6213 thisH2088 greatH1419 thingH1697?” And ElishaH477 17answeredH559, “18The LordH3068 has shownH7200 me that you will be kingH4428 overH5921 AramH758.”
