2 Samuel 9:1-7

1Then Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “IsH3426thereH3426anyoneאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834stillע֔וֹדodH5750leftנוֹתַ֖רno.TarH3498of the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Saulשָׁא֑וּלsha.'UlH7586,so that I could showוְאֶעֱשֶׂ֤הve.'e.'e.SehH6213him kindnessחֶ֔סֶדChe.sedH2617for Jonathan’sיְהוֹנָתָֽן׃ye.ho.na.TanH3083sakeבַּעֲב֖וּרba.'a.VurH5668?”

2Now there wasa servantעֶ֙בֶד֙'e.vedH5650of the houseוּלְבֵ֨יתu.le.VeitH1004of Saulשָׁא֥וּלsha.'UlH7586whose nameוּשְׁמ֣וֹu.she.MoH8034was Zibaצִיבָ֔אtzi.Va'H6717,and they summonedוַיִּקְרְאוּ־vai.yik.re.'u-H7121him to Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732;and the kingהַמֶּ֧לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to him, “Are youZibaצִיבָ֖אtzi.Va'H6717?”And he saidוַיֹּ֥אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “I amyour servantעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃'av.De.khaH5650.”

3Then the kingהַמֶּ֗לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Is there noהַאֶ֨פֶסha.'E.fesH657oneאִישׁ֙'ishH376remainingע֥וֹדodH5750of the houseלְבֵ֣יתle.VeitH1004of Saulשָׁא֔וּלsha.'UlH7586to whom I could showוְאֶעֱשֶׂ֥הve.'e.'e.SehH6213thekindnessחֶ֣סֶדChe.sedH2617of Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430?”And Zibaצִיבָא֙tzi.Va'H6717saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, “There is stillע֛וֹדodH5750a sonבֵּ֥ןbenH1121of Jonathanלִיהוֹנָתָ֖ןli.ho.na.TanH3083,one who is disabledנְכֵ֥הne.KhehH5223in bothH7272feetH7272.”

4So the kingהַמֶּ֖לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428saidוַיֹּֽאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559to him, “Whereאֵיפֹ֣ה'ei.FohH375is he?” And Zibaצִיבָא֙tzi.Va'H6717saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the kingהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428, “Beholdהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009, he isin the houseבֵּ֛יתbeitH1004of Machirמָכִ֥ירma.KhirH4353the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ammielעַמִּיאֵ֖ל'a.mi.'ElH5988,in Lo-debarH3810.”

5Then Kingהַמֶּ֣לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428Davidדָּוִ֑דda.VidH1732sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֖חvai.yish.LachH7971messengers who broughtוַיִּקָּחֵ֗הוּvai.yi.ka.Che.huH3947him from the houseמִבֵּ֛יתmi.BeitH1004of Machirמָכִ֥ירma.KhirH4353the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Ammielעַמִּיאֵ֖ל'a.mi.'ElH5988,from Lo-debarH3810.

6Mephiboshethמְפִיבֹ֨שֶׁתme.fi.Vo.shetH4648,the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Jonathanיְהוֹנָתָ֤ןye.ho.na.TanH3083the sonבֶּן־ben-H1121of Saulשָׁאוּל֙sha.'UlH7586,cameוַ֠יָּבֹאVai.ya.vo'H935to Davidדָּוִ֔דda.VidH1732andfellוַיִּפֹּ֥לvai.yi.PolH5307on his faceפָּנָ֖יוpa.NavH6440and prostratedH2331himself. And Davidדָּוִד֙da.VidH1732saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Mephiboshethמְפִיבֹ֔שֶׁתme.fi.Vo.shetH4648.”And he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Hereהִנֵּ֥הhi.NehH2009is your servantעַבְדֶּֽךָ׃'av.De.khaH5650!”

7Then Davidדָוִ֜דda.VidH1732saidוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559to him, “Do not beH3372afraidתִּירָ֗אti.Ra'H3372, forI will assuredlyעָשֹׂה֩'a.SohH6213showאֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה'e.'e.SehH6213kindnessחֶ֙סֶד֙che.sedH2617to you for the sakeבַּֽעֲבוּר֙ba.'a.VurH5668of your fatherאָבִ֔יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1Jonathanיְהוֹנָתָ֣ןye.ho.na.TanH3083, and Iwill restoreוַהֲשִׁבֹתִ֣יva.ha.shi.vo.TiH7725to you allכָּל־kol-H3605thelandשְׂדֵ֖הse.DehH7704of yourgrandfatherאָבִ֑יךָ'a.Vi.khaH1Saulשָׁא֣וּלsha.'UlH7586; andyou yourselfוְאַתָּ֗הve.'a.TahH859shalleatתֹּ֥אכַלTo.khalH398at my tableשֻׁלְחָנִ֖יshul.cha.NiH7979regularlyתָּמִֽיד׃ta.MidH8548.”
