9But Jehoashיְהוֹאָ֣שׁye.ho.'AshH3060kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֗לYis.ra.'ElH3478sentוַיִּשְׁלַ֞חvai.yish.LachH7971messengersto Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ'a.matz.Ya.huH558kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָה֮ye.hu.DahH3063,sayingלֵאמֹר֒le.MorH559, “The thornH2336bushH2336that was in Lebanonבַּלְּבָנ֗וֹןba.le.va.NonH3844sentשָׁ֠לַחSha.lachH7971wordto the cedarהָאֶ֜רֶזha.'E.rezH730that was in Lebanonבַּלְּבָנוֹן֙ba.le.va.nOnH3844,sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, ‘Giveתְּנָֽה־te.nah-H5414your daughterבִּתְּךָ֥bi.te.KhaH1323to my sonלִבְנִ֖יliv.NiH1121in marriageלְאִשָּׁ֑הle.'i.ShahH802.’But a wildהַשָּׂדֶה֙ha.sa.DehH7704animalH2421that was in Lebanonבַּלְּבָנ֔וֹןba.le.va.NonH3844passedH5674byH5674and trampledוַתִּרְמֹ֖סva.tir.MosH7429the thornH2336bushH2336.

10You have indeedהַכֵּ֤הha.KehH5221defeatedהִכִּ֙יתָ֙hi.Ki.taH5221EdomH112, andyour heartלִבֶּ֑ךָli.Be.khaH3820is elatedוּֽנְשָׂאֲךָ֖u.ne.sa.'a.KhaH5375.EnjoyH3513the gloryH3513and stayוְשֵׁ֣בve.ShevH3427homeבְּבֵיתֶ֔ךָbe.vei.Te.khaH1004;for whyוְלָ֤מָּהve.La.mahH4100should you getH1624involvedH1624inH1624troubleH7463so that you would fallוְנָ֣פַלְתָּ֔הve.Na.fal.TahH5307,you and Judahוִיהוּדָ֥הvi.hu.DahH3063with you?”

11But Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֔הוּ'a.matz.Ya.huH558would not listenשָׁמַ֣עsha.Ma'H8085.So Jehoashיְהוֹאָ֤שׁye.ho.'AshH3060kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478wentH5927upH5927;and they facedוַיִּתְרָא֣וּ פָנִ֔יםvai.yit.ra.'U fa.NimH7200 H6440each other, he and Amaziahוַאֲמַצְיָ֣הוּva.'a.matz.Ya.huH558kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Judahיְהוּדָ֑הye.hu.DahH3063, atBeth-shemeshH1053,whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834belongs to Judahלִיהוּדָֽה׃li.hu.DahH3063.

12And Judahיְהוּדָ֖הye.hu.DahH3063was defeatedוַיִּנָּ֥גֶףvai.yi.Na.gefH5062by Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478, andthey fledוַיָּנֻ֖סוּvai.ya.Nu.suH5127,everyH376manH376to his tentלְאֹהָלָֽיו׃le.'o.ho.lovH168.

14Andhe tookוְלָקַ֣חve.la.KachH3947allכָּל־kol-H3605the goldהַזָּהָב־ha.za.hov-H2091and silverוְ֠הַכֶּסֶףVe.ha.ke.sefH3701and allכָּל־kol-H3605the utensilsהַכֵּלִ֜יםha.ke.LimH3627which were foundהַנִּמְצְאִ֣יםha.nim.tze.'ImH4672in the houseבֵּית־beit-H1004of the Lordיְהוָ֗הYah.wehH3068,and in the treasuriesוּבְאֹֽצְרוֹת֙u.ve.'o.tze.rOtH214of the king’sהַמֶּ֔לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428houseבֵּ֣יתbeitH1004,the hostagesבְּנֵ֣י הַתַּֽעֲרֻב֑וֹתbe.Nei ha.ta.'a.ru.VotH1121 H8594as well, and returnedוַיָּ֖שָׁבvai.Ya.shovH7725to Samariaשֹׁמְרֽוֹנָה׃sho.me.Ro.nahH8111.
