41Now Elijahאֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙'e.li.Ya.huH452saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Ahabלְאַחְאָ֔בle.'ach.'AvH256, “Goעֲלֵ֖ה'a.LehH5927upH5927,eatאֱכֹ֣ל'e.KholH398and drinkוּשְׁתֵ֑הu.she.TehH8354;for there is the soundק֖וֹלKolH6963of the roarהֲמ֥וֹןha.MonH1995of a heavyshowerהַגָּֽשֶׁם׃ha.Ga.shemH1653.”

42So Ahabאַחְאָ֖ב'ach.'AvH256wentH5927upH5927to eatלֶאֱכֹ֣לle.'e.KholH398and drinkוְלִשְׁתּ֑וֹתve.lish.TotH8354.But Elijahוְאֵ֨לִיָּ֜הוּve.'E.li.Ya.huH452wentH5927upH5927to the topרֹ֤אשׁroshH7218ofCarmelהַכַּרְמֶל֙ha.kar.MelH3760; and hebentH1457downH1457to the earthאַ֔רְצָה'Ar.tzahH776and putוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760his faceפָּנָ֖יוpa.NavH6440betweenבֵּ֥יןbeinH996his kneesבִּרְכָּֽיו׃be.ra.khovH1290.

43And he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to his servantנַעֲר֗וֹna.'a.RoH5288, “GoH5927upH5927nowנָא֙na'H4994,lookהַבֵּ֣טha.BetH5027towardדֶּֽרֶךְ־de.rekh-H1870the seaיָ֔םYamH3220.”So he wentH5927upH5927and lookedוַיַּבֵּ֔טvai.ya.BetH5027,but he saidוַיֹּ֖אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “ThereH369isH369nothingמְא֑וּמָהme.'U.mahH369 H3972.” Yet Elijahsaidוַיֹּ֕אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Goשֻׁ֖בshuvH7725backH7725”sevenשֶׁ֥בַעShe.va'H7651timesפְּעָמִֽים׃pe.'a.MimH6471.

44And when he returnedthe seventhבַּשְּׁבִעִ֔יתba.she.vi.'ItH7637time,he saidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “Beholdהִנֵּה־hi.neh-H2009,a cloudעָ֛ב'avH5645as smallקְטַנָּ֥הke.ta.NahH6996as a person’sאִ֖ישׁ'ishH376handכְּכַף־ke.khaf-H3709is comingH5927upH5927from the seaמִיָּ֑םmi.YamH3220.” And Elijahsaidוַיֹּ֗אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559, “GoH5927upH5927,sayאֱמֹ֤ר'e.MorH559to Ahabאַחְאָב֙'ach.'AvH256, ‘Harnessאֱסֹ֣ר'e.SorH631your chariot horsesand goוָרֵ֔דva.RedH3381downH3381, so that the heavyshowerהַגָּֽשֶׁם׃ha.Ga.shemH1653does not stopיַעַצָרְכָ֖הya.'a.tza.re.KhahH6113you.’”

45MeanwhileH5704 H3541the skyוְהַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ve.ha.sha.Ma.yimH8064becameH6937darkהִֽתְקַדְּרוּ֙hit.ka.de.RuH6937with cloudsעָבִ֣ים'a.VimH5645and windוְר֔וּחַve.Ru.achH7307came up,and there was a heavyגָּד֑וֹלga.DolH1419showerגֶּ֣שֶׁםGe.shemH1653.And Ahabאַחְאָ֖ב'ach.'AvH256rodeוַיִּרְכַּ֥בvai.yir.KavH7392and wentוַיֵּ֥לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980toJezreelיִזְרְעֶֽאלָה׃yiz.re.'E.lahH3157.
