Context of Mark 2:12

10But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”--He said to the paralyzed man, 11“I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet, and go home.” And he got up and immediately picked up the pallet and went out in the sight of everyone, so that they were all amazed and were glorifying God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!” 13And He went out again by the seashore; and all the people were coming to Him, and He was teaching them. 14As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting in the tax office, and He said to him, “Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him.

Commentaries on Mark 2:12

• Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 12He - took up the bed - The words of Prosper, on this place, are worthy of notice: - "What is sin but a deplorable fall, a grovelling on the earth, a repose in the creature, often followed by a universal palsy of the soul; namely, an utter inability to help itself, to break off its evil habits, to walk in the ways of God, to rise or to take one good step towards him? Grace can repair all in a moment: because it is nothing but the almighty will of God, who…Read the comment
