Context of Isaiah 32:11
9Rise up, you women who are at ease, And hear my voice; Listen to my word, You complacent daughters. 10Within a year and a few days You will be troubled, you complacent daughters; For the vintage is ended, And the fruit gathering will not come. Tremble, you women who are at ease; Be troubled, you complacent daughters; Strip, undress, and put sackcloth on your waist, 12Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine, 13For the land of my people in which thorns and briars will come up; Indeed, for all the joyful houses and for the jubilant city.

- Adam Clarke Bible Commentary · v. 11Gird sackcloth - שק sak, sackcloth, a word necessary to the sense, is here lost, but preserved by the Septuagint, MSS. Alex. and Pachom., and 1. D. Tremble - be troubled - strip you - פשטה peshotah, רגזה regazah, etc. These are infinitives, with a paragogic ה he, according to Schultens, Institut. Ling. - Matthew Henry Concise Commentary · v. 9-20Verses 9-20 When there was so much provocation given to the holy God, bad times might be expected. Alas! how many careless ones there are, who support self-indulgence by shameful niggardliness! We deserve to be deprived of the supports of life, when we make them the food of lusts. Let such tremble and be troubled. Blessed times shall be brought in by the pouring out of the Spirit from on high; then, and not till then, there will be good times. The present…Read the comment

- Jamieson–Fausset–Brown Commentary · v. 9-209-20. Address to the women of Jerusalem who troubled themselves little about the political signs of the times, but lived a life of self-indulgence (Is 3:16-23); the failure of food through the devastations of the enemy is here foretold, being what was most likely to affect them as mothers of families, heretofore accustomed to every luxury. Vitringa understands "women--daughters" as the cities and villages of Judea (Eze 16:1-63). See Am 6:1.Read the comment
