Isaiah 62

Zion’s Glory and New Name

1For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet, Until her 1righteousness goes forth like brightness, And her 2salvation like a torch that is burning.2The 3nations will see your righteousness, And all kings your glory; And you will be called by a new 4name Which the mouth of the Lord will designate.3You will also be a 5crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, And a royal headband in the hand of your God.4It will no longer be said to you, “67Forsaken,” Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “8Desolate”; But you will be called, “9My delight is in her,” And your land, “1011Married”; For the 12Lord delights in you, And to Him your land will be married.5For as a young man marries a virgin, So your sons will marry you; And as the 13groom rejoices over the bride, So your 14God will rejoice over you.

6On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed 15watchmen; All day and all night they will never keep silent. You who 16profess the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;7And 17give Him no rest until He establishes And makes 18Jerusalem an object of praise on the earth.819The Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His mighty arm: “I will 20never again give your grain as food for your enemies, Nor will 21foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored.”9But those who 22harvest it will eat it and praise the Lord; And those who gather it will drink it in the courtyards of My sanctuary.

10Go through, 23go through the gates, Clear a way 24for the people! 25Build up, build up the 26highway, Remove the stones, lift up a 27flag over the peoples.11Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the 28end of the earth: 29Say to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your 30salvation is coming; 31Behold His reward is with Him, and His compensation before Him.”12And they will call them, “32The holy people, The 33redeemed of the Lord”; And you will be called, “Sought Out, A City 34Not Abandoned.”
