Hebrews 3:4-19
4For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. 5Now 1Moses was faithful in all 2God’s house as 3a servant, 4for a testimony of those things 5which were to be spoken later; 6but Christ was faithful as 6a Son over His house--7whose house we are, 8if we hold firmly to our 9confidence and the boast of our 1011hope.
7Therefore, just as 12the Holy Spirit says, “13Today if you hear His voice,814Do not harden your hearts as 15when they provoked Me, As on the day of trial in the wilderness,916Where your fathers put Me to the test, And saw My works for 17forty years.1018Therefore I was angry with this generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they did not know My ways’;1119As I swore in My anger, ‘They certainly shall not enter My rest.’” 1220Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart 21that falls away from 22the living God. 13But 23encourage one another every day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the 24deceitfulness of sin. 14For we have become partakers of Christ 25if we keep the beginning of our 2627commitment firm until the end, 15while it is said, “28Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts, as 29when they provoked Me.” 16For who 30provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, 31did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? 17And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, 32whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness? 18And to whom did He swear 33that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were 34disobedient? 19And so we see that they were not able to enter because of 35unbelief.
