She lies neglectedH5203 on her landH127; ThereH369 is 4noneH369 to raiseH6965 her up. 3For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH136 5GodH3068, “The cityH5892 which goesH3318 forthH3318 a thousandH505 strong Will haveH7604 a 6hundredH3967 leftH7604, And the one which goesH3318 forthH3318 a hundredH3967 strong Will haveH7604 7tenH6235 leftH7604 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478.”

4For thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478, “8SeekH1875 Me 9that you may liveH2421.5But do not 10resortH1875 to 11BethelH1008 And do not comeH935 to 12GilgalH1537, NorH3808 crossH5674 overH5674 to 13BeershebaH884; For GilgalH1537 will certainlyH1540 goH1540 into captivityH1540 And BethelH1008 will 14comeH1961 to troubleH205.615SeekH1875 the LordH3068 that you may liveH2421, OrH6435 He will breakH6743 forthH6743 like a 16fireH784, 17O houseH1004 of JosephH3130, And it will consumeH398 with noneH369 to quenchH3518 it for BethelH1008,7For those who turnH2015 18justiceH4941 into wormwoodH3939 And 19castH5117 righteousnessH6666 downH5117 to the earthH776.”

8He who madeH6213 the 20PleiadesH3598 and OrionH3685 And 21changesH2015 deepH6757 darknessH6757 into morningH1242, 22Who also 23darkensH2821 dayH3117 into nightH3915, Who 24callsH7121 for the watersH4325 of the seaH3220 And poursH8210 them out on the surfaceH6440 of the earthH776, The 25LordH3068 is His nameH8034.9It is He who 26flashesH1082 forthH1082 with destructionH7701 upon the strongH5794, So that 27destructionH7701 comesH935 upon the fortressH4013.

10They hateH8130 him who 28reprovesH3198 in the 29gateH8179, And they 30abhorH8581 him who speaksH1696 with integrityH8549.11ThereforeH3651 becauseH3282 you 31imposeH1318 heavyH1318 rentH1318 on the poorH1800 And exactH3947 a tributeH4864 of grainH1250 from them, Though you have builtH1129 32housesH1004 of well-hewnH1496 stoneH1496, Yet you will not liveH3427 in them; You have plantedH5193 pleasantH2531 vineyardsH3754, yet you will 33not drinkH8354 their wineH3196.12For I knowH3045 your transgressionsH6588 are manyH7227 and your sinsH2403 are greatH6099, You who 34distressH6887 the righteousH6662 and acceptH3947 bribesH3724 And 35turnH5186 asideH5186 the poorH34 in the 36gateH8179.13ThereforeH3651 at 37suchH1931 a timeH6256 the prudentH7919 person 38keepsH1826 silentH1826, for it is an evilH7463 timeH6256.

14SeekH1875 goodH2896 and not evilH7451, that you may liveH2421; And thusH3651 may the LordH3068 GodH430 of hostsH6635 be with you, 39JustH3512 as you have saidH559!1540HateH8130 evilH7451, loveH157 goodH2896, And establishH3322 justiceH4941 in the 41gateH8179! PerhapsH194 the LordH3068 GodH430 of hostsH6635 42May be graciousH2603 to the 43remnantH7611 of JosephH3130.

16ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068 GodH430 of hostsH6635, the LordH136, “There is 44wailingH4553 in allH3605 the plazasH7339, And in allH3605 the streetsH2351 they sayH559, ‘AlasH1930! AlasH1930!’ They also callH7121 the 45farmerH406 to mourningH60 And 4647professionalH3045 mournersH3045 to lamentationH5092.17And in allH3605 the 48vineyardsH3754 there is wailingH4553, BecauseH3588 I will passH5674 through the midstH7130 of you,” saysH559 the LordH3068.

18AlasH1945, you who are longingH183 for the 49dayH3117 of the LordH3068, For whatH4100 purposeH2088 will the dayH3117 of the LordH3068 be to you? It will be 50darknessH2822 and not lightH216;19As whenH3512 a manH376 51fleesH5127 from a lionH738 And a bearH1677 meetsH6293 him, 52Or goesH935 homeH1004, leansH5564 his handH3027 againstH5921 the wallH7023 And a snakeH5175 bitesH5391 him.20Will not the dayH3117 of the LordH3068 be 53darknessH2822 insteadH3808 of lightH216, Even gloomH651 with noH3808 brightnessH5051 in it?

21“I hateH8130, I 54rejectH3988 your festivalsH2282, NorH3808 do I 5556delightH7381 in your solemnH6116 assembliesH6116.22EvenH3588 thoughH518 you 57offerH5927 up to Me burntH5930 offeringsH5930 and your grain offeringsH4503, I will not acceptH7521 them; And I will not even lookH5027 at the 58peaceH8002 offeringsH8002 of your fatlingsH4806.23TakeH5493 awayH5493 from Me the noiseH1995 of your songsH7892; I will not even listenH8085 to the soundH2172 of your harpsH5035.24But let 59justiceH4941 rollH1556 downH1556 like watersH4325 And righteousnessH6666 like an ever-flowingH386 streamH5158.

25“6061Did you presentH5066 Me with sacrificesH2077 and grain offeringsH4503 in the wildernessH4057 for fortyH705 yearsH8141, O houseH1004 of IsraelH3478? 2662You also carriedH5375 along 63SikkuthH5522 your kingH4428 and 64KiyyunH3594, your imagesH6754, 65the starH3556 of your godsH430 whichH834 you madeH6213 for yourselves. 27Therefore, I will make you goH1540 into exileH1540 beyondH4480H1973 DamascusH1834,” saysH559 the LordH3068, whose nameH8034 is the GodH430 of hostsH6635.
