She liesH5203 unnoticedH5203 on her landH127; ThereH369 isH369 4noH369 oneH369 to raiseH6965 her upH6965. 3For thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH136 5GodH3068 saysH559: “The cityH5892 which goesH3318 forthH3318 a thousandH505 strong Will haveH7604 a 6hundredH3967 leftH7604, And the one which goesH3318 forthH3318 a hundredH3967 strong Will haveH7604 7tenH6235 leftH7604 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478.”

4For thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 saysH559 to the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478: “8SeekH1875 Me 9so that you may liveH2421.5But do not 10resortH1875 to 11BethelH1008 And do not comeH935 to 12GilgalH1537, NorH3808 crossH5674 overH5674 to 13BeershebaH884; For GilgalH1537 will certainlyH1540 goH1540 intoH1540 captivityH1540 And BethelH1008 will 14comeH1961 to nothingH205.615SeekH1875 the LordH3068 so that you may liveH2421, OrH6435 He will breakH6743 throughH6743 like a 16fireH784, 17houseH1004 of JosephH3130, And it will consumeH398 with noH369 oneH369 to extinguishH3518 it for BethelH1008,7For those who turnH2015 18justiceH4941 into wormwoodH3939, And 19throwH5117 righteousnessH6666 to the earthH776.”

8He who madeH6213 the 20PleiadesH3598 and OrionH3685, And 21changesH2015 deepH6757 darknessH6757 into morningH1242, 22Who also 23darkensH2821 dayH3117 into nightH3915, Who 24callsH7121 for the watersH4325 of the seaH3220 And poursH8210 them outH8210 on the surfaceH6440 of the earthH776, The 25LordH3068 is His nameH8034.9It is He who 26makesH1082 destructionH7701 flashH1082 upon the strongH5794, So that 27destructionH7701 comesH935 upon the fortressH4013.

10They hateH8130 him who 28rebukesH3198 in the 29gateH8179, And they 30despiseH8581 him who speaksH1696 with integrityH8549.11ThereforeH3651 becauseH3282 you imposeH1318 heavyH1318 31rentH1318 on the poorH1800 And takeH3947 a tributeH4864 of grainH1250 from them, Though you have builtH1129 32housesH1004 of cutH1496 stoneH1496, Yet you will not liveH3427 in them; You have plantedH5193 beautifulH2531 vineyardsH3754, yet you will 33not drinkH8354 their wineH3196.12For I knowH3045 your offensesH6588 are manyH7227 and your sinsH2403 are greatH6099, You who are 34hostileH6887 to the righteousH6662 and acceptH3947 bribesH3724, And 35turnH5186 awayH5186 the poorH34 from justice at the 36gateH8179.13ThereforeH3651 at 37suchH1931 a timeH6256 the prudentH7919 person 38keepsH1826 quietH1826, becauseH3588 it is an evilH7463 timeH6256.

14SeekH1875 goodH2896 and not evilH7451, soH4616 thatH4616 you may liveH2421; And soH3651 may the LordH3068 GodH430 of armiesH6635 be with you, 39JustH3512 asH3512 you have saidH559!1540HateH8130 evilH7451, loveH157 goodH2896, And establishH3322 justiceH4941 in the 41gateH8179! PerhapsH194 the LordH3068 GodH430 of armiesH6635 42Will beH2603 graciousH2603 to the 43remnantH7611 of JosephH3130.

16ThereforeH3651 thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 GodH430 of armiesH6635, the LordH136 saysH559: “There is 44mourningH4553 in allH3605 the publicH7339 squaresH7339, And in allH3605 the streetsH2351 they sayH559, ‘OhH1930 noH1930! OhH1930 noH1930!’ They also callH7121 the 45farmerH406 to mourningH60 And 4647professionalH3045 mournersH5092 to mourningH4553 ritesH4553.17And in allH3605 the 48vineyardsH3754 there is mourningH4553, BecauseH3588 I will passH5674 through the midstH7130 of you,” saysH559 the LordH3068.

18WoeH1945 to you who are longingH183 for the 49dayH3117 of the LordH3068, For whatH4100 50purposeH2088 will the dayH3117 of the LordH3068 be to you? It will be 51darknessH2822 and not lightH216;19As whenH3512 a manH376 52fleesH5127 from a lionH738 And a bearH1677 confrontsH6293 him, 53Or he goesH935 homeH1004, leansH5564 with his handH3027 againstH5921 the wallH7023, And a snakeH5175 bitesH5391 him.20Will the dayH3117 of the LordH3068 not be 54darknessH2822 insteadH3808 of lightH216, Even gloomH651 with noH3808 brightnessH5051 in it?

21“I hateH8130, I 55rejectH3988 your festivalsH2282, NorH3808 do I 5657delightH7381 in your festiveH6116 assembliesH6116.22EvenH3588 thoughH518 you 58offerH5927 upH5927 to Me burntH5930 offeringsH5930 and your grain offeringsH4503, I will not acceptH7521 them; And I will not even lookH5027 at the 59peaceH8002 offeringsH8002 of your fattenedH4806 oxenH4806.23TakeH5493 awayH5493 from Me the noiseH1995 of your songsH7892; I will not even listenH8085 to the soundH2172 of your harpsH5035.24But let 60justiceH4941 rollH1556 outH1556 like watersH4325, And righteousnessH6666 like an ever-flowingH386 streamH5158.

25“6162Did you presentH5066 Me with sacrificesH2077 and grain offeringsH4503 in the wildernessH4057 for fortyH705 yearsH8141, houseH1004 of IsraelH3478? 2663You also carriedH5375 along 64SikkuthH5522 your kingH4428 and 65KiyyunH3594, your imagesH6754, 66the starH3556 of your godsH430 whichH834 you madeH6213 for yourselves. 27Therefore I will make you goH1540 intoH1540 exileH1540 beyondH4480H1973 DamascusH1834,” saysH559 the LordH3068, whose nameH8034 is the GodH430 of armiesH6635.
