2 Kings 3:20-27
20It happenedH1961 in the morningH1242 1about the time of offeringH5927 the sacrificeH4503, that beholdH2009, waterH4325 cameH935 by the wayH1870 of EdomH112, and the countryH776 was filledH4390 with waterH4325.
21Now allH3605 the MoabitesH4124 heardH8085 that the kingsH4428 had comeH5927 up to fightH3898 against them. And allH3605 who were able to 2putH2296 on armorH2290 and olderH4605 were summonedH6817 and stoodH5975 on the borderH1366. 22They roseH7925 earlyH7925 in the morningH1242, and the sunH8121 shoneH2224 on the waterH4325, and the MoabitesH4124 sawH7200 the waterH4325 oppositeH4480H5048 them as redH122 as bloodH1818. 23Then they saidH559, “ThisH2088 is bloodH1818; the kingsH4428 have surelyH2717 foughtH2717 togetherH2717, and they have slainH5221 oneH376 anotherH7453. NowH6258 therefore, MoabH4124, to the spoilH7998!” 24But when they cameH935 to the campH4264 of IsraelH3478, the IsraelitesH3478 aroseH6965 and struckH5221 the MoabitesH4124, so that they fledH5127 beforeH4480H6440 them; and they wentH935 forward 3into the land, 4slaughteringH5221 the MoabitesH4124. 255Thus they destroyedH2040 the citiesH5892; and eachH376 oneH376 threwH7993 a stoneH68 on everyH3605 pieceH2513 of goodH2896 landH2513 and filledH4390 it. So they stoppedH5640 allH3605 the springsH4599 of waterH4325 and felledH5307 allH3605 the goodH2896 treesH6086, untilH5704 in 6Kir-haresethH7025 only they leftH7604 its stonesH68; however, the slingersH7051 wentH5437 aboutH5437 it and struckH5221 it. 26When the kingH4428 of MoabH4124 sawH7200 that the battleH4421 was tooH4480 fierceH2388 for him, he tookH3947 with him 700H7651H3967 menH376 who drewH8025 swordsH2719, to breakH1234 throughH1234 to the kingH4428 of EdomH112; but they couldH3201 not. 27Then he tookH3947 his oldestH1060 sonH1121 whoH834 was to reignH4427 in his placeH8478, and 7offeredH5927 him as a burntH5930 offeringH5930 on the wallH2346. And there cameH1961 greatH1419 wrathH7110 againstH5921 IsraelH3478, and they departedH5265 from him and returnedH7725 to their own landH776.
