2 Kings 13:5-21

5The LordH3068 gaveH5414 IsraelH3478 a 12delivererH3467, so that they 3escapedH3318 from underH8478 the handH3027 of the ArameansH758; and the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478 livedH3427 in their tentsH168 as formerlyH8032H8543. 6NeverthelessH389 they did not turnH5493 awayH5493 from the sinsH2403 of the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379, 4with whichH834 he made IsraelH3478 sinH2398, but walkedH1980 in 5them; and 6the AsherahH842 alsoH1571 remained standingH5975 in SamariaH8111. 7For he leftH7604 to JehoahazH3059 of the 7armyH5971 not moreH3588H518 thanH3588H518 fiftyH2572 horsemenH6571 and tenH6235 chariotsH7393 and 10,000H6235H505 footmenH7273, for the kingH4428 of AramH758 had destroyedH6 them and 8madeH7760 them like the dustH6083 at threshingH1758. 8Now the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of JehoahazH3059, and allH3605 that he didH6213 and his mightH1369, are they not writtenH3789 in the BookH5612 of the ChroniclesH1697H3117 of the KingsH4428 of IsraelH3478? 9And JehoahazH3059 sleptH7901 with his fathersH1, and they buriedH6912 him in SamariaH8111; and JoashH3060 his sonH1121 becameH4427 kingH4427 in his placeH8478.

10In the thirty-seventhH7970H7651 yearH8141 of JoashH3060 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, JehoashH3060 the sonH1121 of JehoahazH3059 becameH4427 kingH4427 overH5921 IsraelH3478 in SamariaH8111, and reigned sixteenH8337H6240 yearsH8141. 11He didH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068; he did not turnH5493 awayH5493 from allH3605 the sinsH2403 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, with whichH834 he made IsraelH3478 sinH2398, but he walkedH1980 in 9them. 1210Now the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of JoashH3060 and allH3605 that he didH6213 and his mightH1369 with whichH834 he foughtH3898 againstH5973 AmaziahH558 kingH4428 of JudahH3063, are they not writtenH3789 in the BookH5612 of the ChroniclesH1697H3117 of the KingsH4428 of IsraelH3478? 13So JoashH3060 sleptH7901 with his fathersH1, and JeroboamH3379 satH3427 on his throneH3678; and JoashH3060 was buriedH6912 in SamariaH8111 with the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478.

14When ElishaH477 11becameH2470 sickH2470 with the illnessH2483 of whichH834 he was to dieH4191, JoashH3060 the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478 cameH3381 downH3381 to him and weptH1058 overH5921 12him and saidH559, “13My fatherH1, my fatherH1, the chariotsH7393 of IsraelH3478 and its horsemenH6571!” 15ElishaH477 saidH559 to him, “TakeH3947 a bowH7198 and arrowsH2671.” So he 14tookH3947 a bowH7198 and arrowsH2671. 16Then he saidH559 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, “PutH7392 your handH3027 on the bowH7198.” And he putH7392 his handH3027 on it, then ElishaH477 laidH7760 his handsH3027 on the king’sH4428 handsH3027. 17He saidH559, “OpenH6605 the windowH2474 toward the eastH6924,” and he openedH6605 it. Then ElishaH477 saidH559, “ShootH3384!” And he shotH3384. And he saidH559, “The Lord’sH3068 arrowH2671 of victoryH8668, even the arrowH2671 of victoryH8668 over AramH758; for you will 15defeatH5221 the ArameansH758 at 16AphekH663 untilH5704 you have 17destroyedH3615 them.” 18Then he saidH559, “TakeH3947 the arrowsH2671,” and he tookH3947 them. And he saidH559 to the kingH4428 of IsraelH3478, “StrikeH5221 the groundH776,” and he struckH5221 it threeH7969 timesH6471 and 18stoppedH5975. 19So 19the manH376 of GodH430 was angryH7107 with him and saidH559, “You should have struckH5221 fiveH2568 orH176 sixH8337 timesH6471, thenH227 you would have struckH5221 AramH758 untilH5704 you would have 20destroyedH3615 it. But nowH6258 you shall strikeH5221 AramH758 21only threeH7969 timesH6471.”

20ElishaH477 diedH4191, and they buriedH6912 him. Now 22the bandsH1416 of the MoabitesH4124 would invadeH935 the landH776 in the springH935 of the yearH8141. 21As they were buryingH6912 a manH376, beholdH2009, they sawH7200 a maraudingH1416 bandH1416; and they castH7993 the manH376 into the graveH6913 of ElishaH477. And when the manH376 23touchedH5060 the bonesH6106 of ElishaH477 he 24revivedH2421 and stoodH6965 up on his feetH7272.
