1 Kings 21:20-29
20AhabH256 saidH559 to ElijahH452, “1Have you foundH4672 me, O my enemyH340?” And he 2answeredH559, “I have foundH4672 you, 3becauseH3282 you have soldH4376 yourself to doH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068. 21BeholdH2009, I will bringH935 evilH7463 upon you, and 4will utterlyH1197 sweepH1197 you awayH1197, and will cutH3772 offH3772 from AhabH256 everyH8366 maleH8366H7023, both bondH6113 and freeH5800 in IsraelH3478; 22and 5I will makeH5414 your houseH1004 6like the houseH1004 of JeroboamH3379 the sonH1121 of NebatH5028, and like the houseH1004 of BaashaH1201 the sonH1121 of AhijahH281, becauseH413 of the provocationH3708 with whichH834 you have provokedH3707 Me to angerH3707, and because you 7have made IsraelH3478 sinH2398. 23Of JezebelH348 alsoH1571 has the LordH3068 spokenH1696, sayingH559, ‘8The dogsH3611 will eatH398 JezebelH348 in the 9districtH2426 of JezreelH3157.’ 2410The one belonging to AhabH256, who diesH4191 in the cityH5892, the dogsH3611 will eatH398, and the one who diesH4191 in the fieldH7704 the birdsH5775 of heavenH8064 will eatH398.”
2511SurelyH7534 there was noH3808 one like AhabH256 whoH834 soldH4376 himself to doH6213 evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068, 12becauseH834 JezebelH348 his wifeH802 incitedH5496 him. 2613He actedH8581 veryH3966 abominablyH8581 in followingH1980H310 idolsH1544, 14according to allH3605 that the AmoritesH567 had doneH6213, whomH834 the LordH3068 castH3423 out beforeH4480H6440 the sonsH1121 of IsraelH3478.
27It cameH1961 about when AhabH256 heardH8085 theseH428 wordsH1697, that 15he toreH7167 his clothesH899 and putH7760 16on sackclothH8242 and fastedH6684, and he layH7901 in sackclothH8242 and wentH1980 about 17despondentlyH328. 28Then the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to ElijahH452 the TishbiteH8664, sayingH559, 29“Do you seeH7200 howH3588 AhabH256 has humbledH3665 himself beforeH4480H6440 Me? BecauseH3282H3588 he has humbledH3665 himself beforeH4480H6440 Me, I will not bringH935 the evilH7463 in his daysH3117, but I will bringH935 the evilH7463 upon his houseH1004 18in his son’sH1121 daysH3117.”
