1 Kings 13:11-32
11Now 1an oldH2205 prophetH5030 was livingH3427 in BethelH1008; and his 2sonsH1121 cameH935 and toldH5608 him allH3605 the deedsH4639 whichH834 the manH376 of GodH430 had doneH6213 that dayH3117 in BethelH1008; the wordsH1697 whichH834 he had spokenH1696 to the kingH4428, these also they relatedH5608 to their fatherH1. 12Their fatherH1 saidH1696 to them, “3WhichH335H2088 wayH1870 did he goH1980?” Now his sonsH1121 4had seenH7200 the wayH1870 whichH834 the manH376 of GodH430 whoH834 cameH935 from JudahH3063 had goneH1980. 13Then he saidH559 to his sonsH1121, “SaddleH2280 the donkeyH2543 for me.” So they saddledH2280 the donkeyH2543 for him and he rodeH7392 away on it. 14So he wentH1980 afterH310 the manH376 of GodH430 and foundH4672 him sittingH3427 underH8478 5an oakH424; and he saidH559 to him, “Are you the manH376 of GodH430 whoH834 cameH935 from JudahH3063?” And he saidH559, “I am.” 15Then he saidH559 to him, “ComeH1980 homeH1004 with me and eatH398 breadH3899.” 16He saidH559, “6I cannotH3201H3808 returnH7725 with you, norH3808 goH935 with you, norH3808 will I eatH398 breadH3899 or drinkH8354 waterH4325 with you in thisH2088 placeH4725. 17For a commandH1697 came to me 7by the wordH1697 of the LordH3068, ‘You shall eatH398 noH3808 breadH3899, norH3808 drinkH8354 waterH4325 thereH8033; do not returnH7725 by goingH1980 the wayH1870 whichH834 you cameH1980.’” 18He saidH559 to him, “8I alsoH1571 am a prophetH5030 likeH3644 you, and 9an angelH4397 spokeH1696 to me by the wordH1697 of the LordH3068, sayingH559, ‘BringH7725 him backH7725 with you to your houseH1004, that he may eatH398 breadH3899 and drinkH8354 waterH4325.’” But 10he liedH3584 to him. 19So he wentH7725 backH7725 with him, and ateH398 breadH3899 in his houseH1004 and drankH8354 waterH4325.
20Now it cameH1961 about, as they were sittingH3427 downH3427 at the tableH7979, that the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 cameH1961 to the prophetH5030 whoH834 had broughtH7725 him backH7725; 21and he criedH7121 to the manH376 of GodH430 whoH834 cameH935 from JudahH3063, sayingH559, “ThusH3541 saysH559 the LordH3068, ‘BecauseH3282H3588 you have 11disobeyedH4784 the 12commandH6310 of the LordH3068, and have not observedH8104 the commandmentH4687 whichH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 commandedH6680 you, 22but have returnedH7725 and eatenH398 breadH3899 and drunkH8354 waterH4325 in the placeH4725 of whichH834 He saidH1696 to you, “EatH398 noH408 breadH3899 and drinkH8354 noH408 waterH4325”; your bodyH5038 shall not comeH935 to the graveH6913 of your fathersH1.’” 23It cameH1961 about afterH310 he had eatenH398 breadH3899 and afterH310 he had drunkH8354, that he saddledH2280 the donkeyH2543 for him, for the prophetH5030 whomH834 he had broughtH7725 backH7725. 24Now when he had goneH1980, 13a lionH743 metH4672 him on the wayH1870 and killedH4191 him, and his bodyH5038 was thrownH7993 on the roadH1870, with the donkeyH2543 standingH5975 besideH681 it; the lionH743 also was standingH5975 besideH681 the bodyH5038. 25And beholdH2009, menH376 passedH5674 by and sawH7200 the bodyH5038 thrownH7993 on the roadH1870, and the lionH743 standingH5975 besideH681 the bodyH5038; so they cameH935 and toldH1696 it in the cityH5892 whereH834 14the oldH2205 prophetH5030 livedH3427.
26Now when the prophetH5030 whoH834 broughtH7725 him backH7725 from the wayH1870 heardH8085 it, he saidH559, “It is the manH376 of GodH430, whoH834 15disobeyedH4784 the 16commandH6310 of the LordH3068; therefore the LordH3068 has givenH5414 him to the lionH743, which has tornH7665 him and killedH4191 him, according to the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 whichH834 He spokeH1696 to him.” 27Then he spokeH1696 to his sonsH1121, sayingH559, “SaddleH2280 the donkeyH2543 for me.” And they saddledH2280 it. 28He wentH1980 and foundH4672 his bodyH5038 thrownH7993 on the roadH1870 with the donkeyH2543 and the lionH743 standingH5975 besideH681 the bodyH5038; the lionH743 had not eatenH398 the bodyH5038 norH3808 tornH7665 the donkeyH2543. 29So the prophetH5030 tookH5375 up the bodyH5038 of the manH376 of GodH430 and laidH5117 it on the donkeyH2543 and broughtH7725 it backH7725, and he cameH935 to the cityH5892 of the oldH2205 prophetH5030 to mournH5594 and to buryH6912 him. 30He laidH5117 his bodyH5038 in his own graveH6913, and they mournedH5594 overH5921 him, saying, “17AlasH1945, my brotherH251!” 31AfterH310 he had buriedH6912 him, he spokeH559 to his sonsH1121, sayingH559, “When I dieH4191, buryH6912 me in the graveH6913 in whichH834 the manH376 of GodH430 is buriedH6912; 18layH5117 my bonesH6106 besideH681 his bonesH6106. 3219For the thingH1697 shall surelyH1961 comeH1961 to passH1961 whichH834 he criedH7121 by the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 againstH5921 the altarH4196 in BethelH1008 and 20againstH5921 allH3605 the housesH1004 of the highH1116 placesH1116 whichH834 are in the citiesH5892 of 21SamariaH8111.”
