2The Lordיְהוָ֜הYah.wehH3068saidוַיֹּ֨אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to Mosesמֹשֶׁ֗הmo.ShehH4872: “Tellדַּבֵּר֮da.BerH1696your brotherאָחִיךָ֒'a.chi.KhaH251Aaronאַהֲרֹ֣ן'a.ha.RonH175that he shall not enterיָבֹ֤אya.Vo'H935at anyבְכָל־ve.khol-H3605timeעֵת֙'etH6256into the holyהַקֹּ֔דֶשׁha.Ko.deshH6944place insideמִבֵּ֖יתmi.BeitH4480H1004the veilלַפָּרֹ֑כֶתla.pa.Ro.khetH6532,beforeפְּנֵ֨יpe.NeiH413H6440themercyH3727seatH3727whichאֲשֶׁ֤ר'a.SherH834is on the arkהָאָרֹן֙ha.'a.RonH727,orוְלֹ֣אve.Lo'H3808he will dieיָמ֔וּתya.MutH4191; forI will appearאֵרָאֶ֖ה'e.ra.'EhH7200in the cloudבֶּֽעָנָ֔ןbe.'a.NanH6051overH5921themercyH3727seatH3727.
4He shall putיִלְבָּ֗שׁyil.BashH3847on theholyקֹ֜דֶשׁKo.deshH6944linenבַּ֨דbadH906tunicכְּתֹֽנֶת־ke.to.net-H3801,and the linenבַד֮vadH906undergarmentsוּמִֽכְנְסֵי־u.mikh.ne.sei-H4370shall be nextעַל־'al-H5921to hisbodyבְּשָׂרוֹ֒be.sa.RoH1320,and he shall be girdedיַחְגֹּ֔רyach.GorH2296with the linenבַּד֙badH906sashוּבְאַבְנֵ֥טu.ve.'av.NetH73and attiredיִצְנֹ֑ףyitz.NofH6801with the linenבַּ֖דbadH906turbanוּבְמִצְנֶ֥פֶתu.ve.mitz.Ne.fetH4701(theseהֵ֔םHemH1992are holyקֹ֣דֶשׁKo.deshH6944garmentsבִּגְדֵי־big.dei-H899). Then he shallbatheוְרָחַ֥ץve.ra.ChatzH7364hisbodyבְּשָׂר֖וֹbe.sa.RoH1320in waterבַּמַּ֛יִםba.Ma.yimH4325and putוּלְבֵשָֽׁם׃u.le.ve.ShamH3847them on.
5He shall takeיִקַּ֛חyi.KachH3947from the congregationעֲדַת֙'a.DatH5712of the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478twoשְׁנֵֽי־she.nei-H8147maleשְׂעִירֵ֥יse.'i.ReiH8163goatsעִזִּ֖ים'i.ZimH5795for a sinלְחַטָּ֑אתle.cha.TatH2403offeringH2403and oneאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259ramוְאַ֥יִלve.'A.yilH352for a burntלְעֹלָֽה׃le.'o.LahH5930offeringH5930.
8Aaronאַהֲרֹ֛ן'a.ha.RonH175shall castוְנָתַ֧ןve.na.TanH5414lotsגּוֹרָל֑וֹתgo.ra.LotH1486for the twoשְׁנֵ֥יshe.NeiH8147goatsהַשְּׂעִירִ֖םha.se.'i.RimH8163,oneאֶחָד֙'e.ChadH259lotגּוֹרָ֤לgo.RalH1486for the Lordלַיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068and the otherאֶחָ֖ד'e.ChadH259lotוְגוֹרָ֥לve.go.RalH1486for thescapegoatלַעֲזָאזֵֽל׃la.'a.za.ZelH5799.
10But the goatH5795on whichאֲשֶׁר֩'a.SherH834the lotהַגּוֹרָל֙ha.go.RalH1486for thescapegoatלַעֲזָאזֵ֔לla.'a.za.ZelH5799fellעָלָ֨ה'a.LahH5927shall be presentedיָֽעֳמַד־yo.'o.mad-H5975aliveחַ֛יchaiH2416beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068,to makeלְכַפֵּ֣רle.kha.PerH3722atonementH3722upon it, to sendלְשַׁלַּ֥חle.sha.LachH7971it into the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽרָה׃ha.mid.Ba.rahH4057as thescapegoatלַעֲזָאזֵ֖לla.'a.za.ZelH5799.
11“Then Aaronאַהֲרֹ֜ן'a.ha.RonH175shall offerוְהִקְרִ֨יבve.hik.RivH7126the bullפַּ֤רparH6499of the sinהַֽחַטָּאת֙ha.cha.taTH2403offeringהַֽחַטָּ֖אתha.cha.TatH2403whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is for himself and makeוְכִפֶּ֥רve.khi.PerH3722atonementH3722for himself andfor his householdבֵּית֑וֹbei.ToH1004,and he shall slaughterוְשָׁחַ֛טve.sha.ChatH7819the bullפַּ֥רparH6499of the sinH2403offeringH2403whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834is for himself.

13He shall putוְנָתַ֧ןve.na.TanH5414the incenseהַקְּטֹ֛רֶתha.ke.To.retH7004on the fireהָאֵ֖שׁha.'EshH784beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֑הYah.wehH3068,that the cloudעֲנַ֣ן'a.NanH6051of incenseהַקְּטֹ֗רֶתha.ke.To.retH7004may coverוְכִסָּ֣ה׀ve.khi.SahH3680themercyH3727seatH3727that is on the ark ofthe testimonyהָעֵד֖וּתha.'e.DutH5715,otherwiseוְלֹ֥אve.Lo'H3808he will dieיָמֽוּת׃ya.MutH4191.
14Moreover,he shall takeוְלָקַח֙ve.la.KachH3947someH4480of the bloodמִדַּ֣םmi.DamH1818of the bullהַפָּ֔רha.ParH6499and sprinkleוְהִזָּ֧הve.hi.ZahH5137itwith his fingerבְאֶצְבָּע֛וֹve.'etz.ba.'OH676on themercyH3727seatH3727on the eastקֵ֑דְמָהKe.de.mahH6924side;also in frontH6440of themercyH3727seatH3727he shall sprinkleיַזֶּ֧הya.ZehH5137someH4480of the bloodהַדָּ֖םha.DamH1818with his fingerבְּאֶצְבָּעֽוֹ׃be.'etz.ba.'OH676sevenשֶֽׁבַע־she.va'-H7651timesפְּעָמִ֛יםpe.'a.MimH6471.
15“Then he shall slaughterוְשָׁחַ֞טve.sha.ChatH7819the goatH5795of the sinהַֽחַטָּאת֙ha.cha.taTH2403offeringH2403whichH834is for the peopleלָעָ֔םla.'AmH5971,and bringוְהֵבִיא֙ve.he.Vi'H935its bloodדָּמ֔וֹda.MoH1818insideאֶל־ מִבֵּ֖ית'el- mi.BeitH413H4480H1004the veilלַפָּרֹ֑כֶתla.pa.Ro.khetH6532and doוְעָשָׂ֣הve.'a.SahH6213with its bloodדָּמ֗וֹda.MoH1818as he didעָשָׂה֙'a.SahH6213with the bloodלְדַ֣םle.DamH1818of the bullהַפָּ֔רha.ParH6499,and sprinkleוְהִזָּ֥הve.hi.ZahH5137it on themercyH3727seatH3727and in frontוְלִפְנֵ֥יve.lif.NeiH6440of themercyH3727seatH3727.
16He shall makeוְכִפֶּ֣רve.khi.PerH3722atonementH3722for the holyהַקֹּ֗דֶשׁha.Ko.deshH6944place, becauseH4480of the impuritiesמִטֻּמְאֹת֙mi.tum.'OtH2932of the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478and becauseH4480of their transgressionsוּמִפִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֖םu.mi.pish.'ei.HemH6588in regard to allלְכָל־le.kholH3605their sinsחַטֹּאתָ֑םcha.to.TamH2403;and thusוְכֵ֤ןve.KhenH3651he shall doיַעֲשֶׂה֙ya.'a.SehH6213for the tentלְאֹ֣הֶלle.'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵ֔דmo.'EdH4150which abidesהַשֹּׁכֵ֣ןha.sho.KhenH7931with them in the midstבְּת֖וֹךְbe.TokhH8432of their impuritiesטֻמְאֹתָֽם׃tum.'o.TamH2932.
17When he goesבְּבֹא֛וֹbe.vo.'OH935in to makeלְכַפֵּ֥רle.kha.PerH3722atonementוְכִפֶּ֤רve.khi.PerH3722in the holyבַּקֹּ֖דֶשׁba.Ko.deshH6944place, noלֹא־lo'-H3808oneאָדָ֞ם'a.DamH120shall be in the tentבְּאֹ֣הֶלbe.'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵ֗דmo.'EdH4150untilעַד־'ad-H5704he comesצֵאת֑וֹtze.ToH3318out, that he may makeH3722atonementH3722for himself and for his householdבֵּית֔וֹbei.ToH1004and for allH3605the assemblyקְהַ֥לke.HalH6951of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.
18Then he shall goוְיָצָ֗אve.ya.Tza'H3318out to the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֛חַha.miz.Be.achH4196that is beforeלִפְנֵֽי־lif.nei-H6440the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068and makeוְכִפֶּ֣רve.khi.PerH3722atonementH3722for it, and shall takeוְלָקַ֞חve.la.KachH3947someH4480of the bloodמִדַּ֤םmi.DamH1818of the bullהַפָּר֙ha.ParH6499and of the bloodוּמִדַּ֣םu.mi.DamH1818of the goatH5795andputוְנָתַ֛ןve.na.TanH5414it on the hornsקַרְנ֥וֹתkar.NotH7161of the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196on allH5439sidesH5439.
19With his fingerבְּאֶצְבָּע֖וֹbe.'etz.ba.'OH676he shall sprinkleוְהִזָּ֨הve.hi.ZahH5137someמִן־min-H4480of the bloodהַדָּ֛םha.DamH1818on it sevenשֶׁ֣בַעShe.va'H7651timesפְּעָמִ֑יםpe.'a.MimH6471and cleanseוְטִהֲר֣וֹve.ti.ha.RoH2891it, and from the impuritiesמִטֻּמְאֹ֖תmi.tum.'OtH2932of the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478consecrateוְקִדְּשׁ֔וֹve.ki.de.ShoH6942it.
21Then Aaronאַהֲרֹ֜ן'a.ha.RonH175shall layוְסָמַ֨ךְve.sa.MakhH5564bothשְׁתֵּ֣יshe.TeiH8147of his handsיָדָ֗יוya.dovH3027on the headרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218of the liveהַחַי֒ha.ChaiH2416goatH5795, andconfessוְהִתְוַדָּ֣הve.hit.va.DahH3034overH5921it allכָּל־kol-H3605the iniquitiesעֲוֹנֹת֙'a.vo.NotH5771of the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478and allכָּל־kol-H3605their transgressionsפִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֖םpish.'ei.HemH6588in regard to allלְכָל־le.kholH3605their sinsחַטֹּאתָ֑םcha.to.TamH2403;and he shall layוְנָתַ֤ןve.na.TanH5414them on the headרֹ֣אשׁroshH7218of the goatH5795and sendוְשִׁלַּ֛חve.shi.LachH7971itawayH7971into the wildernessהַמִּדְבָּֽרָה׃ha.mid.Ba.rahH4057by the handבְּיַד־be.yad-H3027of a manאִ֥ישׁ'ishH376who standsin readinessעִתִּ֖י'i.TiH6261.
23“Then Aaronאַהֲרֹן֙'a.ha.RonH175shall comeוּבָ֤אu.Va'H935into the tentאֹ֣הֶל'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵ֔דmo.'EdH4150and takeH6584offH6584the linenהַבָּ֔דha.BadH906garmentsבִּגְדֵ֣יbig.DeiH899whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834he putלָבַ֖שׁla.VashH3847on when he wentבְּבֹא֣וֹbe.vo.'OH935into the holyהַקֹּ֑דֶשׁha.Ko.deshH6944place, and shall leaveוְהִנִּיחָ֖םve.hi.ni.ChamH5117them thereשָֽׁם׃ShamH8033.
24He shall batheוְרָחַ֨ץve.ra.ChatzH7364hisbodyבְּשָׂר֤וֹbe.sa.RoH1320with waterבַמַּ֙יִם֙va.Ma.yimH4325in a holyקָד֔וֹשׁka.Do.oshH6918placeבְּמָק֣וֹםbe.ma.KomH4725and putוְלָבַ֖שׁve.la.VashH3847onhis clothesבְּגָדָ֑יוbe.ga.DavH899,and comeוְיָצָ֗אve.ya.Tza'H3318forthH3318and offerוְעָשָׂ֤הve.'a.SahH6213his burntעֹֽלָתוֹ֙o.la.ToH5930offeringעֹלַ֣ת'o.LatH5930and the burntH5930offeringH5930of the peopleהָעָ֔םha.'AmH5971and makeוְכִפֶּ֥רve.khi.PerH3722atonementH3722for himself and for the peopleהָעָֽם׃ha.'AmH5971.
26The one who releasedוְהַֽמְשַׁלֵּ֤חַve.ham.sha.Le.achH7971the goatהַשָּׂעִיר֙ha.sa.'IrH8163as thescapegoatלַֽעֲזָאזֵ֔לla.'a.za.ZelH5799shall washיְכַבֵּ֣סye.kha.BesH3526his clothesבְּגָדָ֔יוbe.ga.DavH899and batheוְרָחַ֥ץve.ra.ChatzH7364hisbodyבְּשָׂר֖וֹbe.sa.RoH1320with waterבַּמָּ֑יִםba.Ma.yimH4325;then afterwardוְאַחֲרֵי־ כֵ֖ןve.'a.cha.rei- khenH310H3651he shall comeיָב֥וֹאya.Vo'H935into the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ha.ma.cha.NehH4264.
27But the bullפַּ֨רparH6499of the sinהַֽחַטָּ֜אתha.cha.TatH2403offeringהַֽחַטָּ֗אתha.cha.TatH2403and the goatשְׂעִ֣ירse.'IrH8163of the sinH2403offeringH2403,whoseאֲשֶׁ֨ר'a.SherH834bloodדָּמָם֙da.MamH1818was broughtהוּבָ֤אhu.Va'H935in to makeלְכַפֵּ֣רle.kha.PerH3722atonementH3722in the holyבַּקֹּ֔דֶשׁba.Ko.deshH6944place, shall be takenיוֹצִ֖יאyo.Tzi'H3318outsideאֶל־ מִח֣וּץ'el- mi.ChutzH413H4480H2351the campלַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑הla.ma.cha.NehH4264,and they shall burnוְשָׂרְפ֣וּve.sa.re.FuH8313their hidesעֹרֹתָ֥ם'o.ro.TamH5785,their fleshבְּשָׂרָ֖םbe.sa.RamH1320,and their refuseפִּרְשָֽׁם׃pir.ShamH6569in the fireבָאֵ֔שׁva.'EshH784.
28Then theone who burnsוְהַשֹּׂרֵ֣ףve.ha.so.RefH8313them shall washיְכַבֵּ֣סye.kha.BesH3526his clothesבְּגָדָ֔יוbe.ga.DavH899and batheוְרָחַ֥ץve.ra.ChatzH7364his bodyבְּשָׂר֖וֹbe.sa.RoH1320with waterבַּמָּ֑יִםba.Ma.yimH4325,then afterwardוְאַחֲרֵי־ כֵ֖ןve.'a.cha.rei- khenH310H3651he shall comeיָב֥וֹאya.Vo'H935into the campהַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃Ha.ma.cha.NehH4264.
An Annual Atonement
29“Thisshall be a permanentעוֹלָ֑םo.LamH5769statuteלְחֻקַּ֣תle.chu.KatH2708for you:in the seventhהַ֠שְּׁבִיעִיHa.she.vi.'iH7637monthבַּחֹ֣דֶשׁba.Cho.deshH2320,on the tenthבֶּֽעָשׂ֨וֹרbe.'a.SorH6218day of the monthלַחֹ֜דֶשׁla.Cho.deshH2320,you shall humbleתְּעַנּ֣וּte.'a.NuH6031your soulsנַפְשֹֽׁתֵיכֶ֗םnaf.sho.tei.KhemH5315and notdoתַעֲשׂ֔וּta.'a.SuH6213anyוְכָל־ve.kholH3605workמְלָאכָה֙me.la.KhahH4399,whether the nativeהָֽאֶזְרָ֔חha.'ez.RachH249,or the alienוְהַגֵּ֖רve.ha.GerH1616who sojournsהַגָּ֥רha.GarH1481amongבְּתוֹכְכֶֽם׃be.tokh.KhemH8432you;
30for it is on thisהַזֶּ֛הha.ZehH2088dayבַיּ֥וֹםvai.YomH3117thatatonementיְכַפֵּ֥רye.kha.PerH3722shall be madeH3722for you tocleanseלְטַהֵ֣רle.ta.HerH2891you; you will be cleanתִּטְהָֽרוּ׃tit.Ha.ruH2891from allמִכֹּל֙mi.KolH3605your sinsחַטֹּ֣אתֵיכֶ֔םcha.To.tei.KhemH2403beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068.
32So the priestהַכֹּהֵ֜ןha.ko.HenH3548whoH834is anointedיִמְשַׁ֣חyim.ShachH4886andordainedיְמַלֵּא֙ יָד֔וֹye.ma.Le' ya.DoH4390H3027to serveלְכַהֵ֖ןle.kha.HenH3547as priestH3547in his father’sאָבִ֑יו'a.VivH1placeתַּ֣חַתTa.chatH8478shall makeוְכִפֶּ֨רve.khi.PerH3722atonementH3722:he shall thus putוְלָבַ֛שׁve.la.VashH3847onthe linenהַבָּ֖דha.BadH906garmentsבִּגְדֵ֥יbig.DeiH899,the holyהַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ha.Ko.deshH6944garmentsבִּגְדֵ֥יbig.DeiH899,
33and makeוְכִפֶּר֙ve.khi.PerH3722atonementיְכַפֵּ֑רye.kha.PerH3722for the holyהַקֹּ֔דֶשׁha.Ko.deshH6944sanctuaryמִקְדַּ֣שׁmik.DashH4720,and he shall makeיְכַפֵּֽר׃ye.kha.PerH3722atonementH3722for the tentאֹ֧הֶל'O.helH168of meetingמוֹעֵ֛דmo.'EdH4150and for the altarהַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַha.miz.Be.achH4196.He shall also makeH3722atonementH3722forthe priestsהַכֹּהֲנִ֛יםha.ko.ha.NimH3548and for allכָּל־kol-H3605the peopleעַ֥ם'amH5971of the assemblyהַקָּהָ֖לha.ka.HalH6951.
34Now you shall haveוְהָֽיְתָה־ve.ha.ye.tah-H1961thisH2088as apermanentעוֹלָ֗םo.LamH5769statuteלְחֻקַּ֣תle.chu.KatH2708, tomakeלְכַפֵּ֞רle.kha.PerH3722atonementH3722for the sonsבְּנֵ֤יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478for allמִכָּל־mi.kolH3605their sinsחַטֹּאתָ֔םcha.to.TamH2403onceאַחַ֖ת'a.ChatH259every yearבַּשָּׁנָ֑הba.sha.NahH8141.”And justH3512as the Lordיְהוָ֖הYah.wehH3068had commandedצִוָּ֥הtzi.VahH6680Mosesמֹשֶֽׁה׃ פmo.ShehH4872, sohe didוַיַּ֕עַשׂvai.Ya.'asH6213.
