1Now thiswas the lotהַגּוֹרָל֙ha.go.RalH1486for the tribeלְמַטֵּ֣הle.ma.TehH4294ofManassehמְנַשֶּׁ֔הme.na.ShehH4519,for he was the firstbornבְּכ֣וֹרbe.KhorH1060of Josephיוֹסֵ֑ףyo.SefH3130.To Machirלְמָכִיר֩le.ma.KhirH4353the firstbornבְּכ֨וֹרbe.KhorH1060of Manassehמְנַשֶּׁ֜הme.na.ShehH4519,the fatherאֲבִ֣י'a.ViH1of Gileadהַגִּלְעָ֗דha.gil.'AdH1568,were allottedH1961Gileadהַגִּלְעָ֥דha.gil.'AdH1568and Bashanוְהַבָּשָֽׁן׃ve.ha.ba.ShanH1316,becauseH3588he was a manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of warמִלְחָמָ֔הmil.cha.MahH4421.

5Thus there fellוַיִּפְּל֥וּvai.yi.pe.LuH5307tenעֲשָׂרָ֑ה'a.sa.RahH6235portionsחַבְלֵֽי־chav.lei-H2256to Manassehמְנַשֶּׁ֖הme.na.ShehH4519,besidesלְבַ֞דle.VadH905 H4480the landמֵאֶ֤רֶץme.'E.retzH776of Gileadהַגִּלְעָד֙ha.gil.'AdH1568and Bashanוְהַבָּשָׁ֔ןve.ha.ba.ShanH1316,whichאֲשֶׁ֖ר'a.SherH834is beyondמֵעֵ֥בֶרme.'E.verH4480 H5676the Jordanלַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃lai.yar.DenH3383,

13It cameוַֽיְהִ֗יvay.HiH1961about whenכִּ֤יkiH3588the sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478becameH2388strongחָֽזְקוּ֙cha.ze.KuH2388,they putוַיִּתְּנ֥וּvai.yi.te.NuH5414the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖יha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669to forcedH4522laborלָמַ֑סla.MasH4522, but they did notdriveוְהוֹרֵ֖שׁve.ho.ReshH3423them out completelyהוֹרִישֽׁוֹ׃ סho.ri.ShoH3423.

16The sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Josephיוֹסֵ֔ףyo.SefH3130saidוַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙vai.yo.me.RuH559, “The hillהָהָ֑רha.HarH2022countryH2022is not enoughיִמָּ֥צֵאyi.Ma.tze'H4672for us, and allבְּכָל־be.kholH3605the Canaanitesהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ha.ke.na.'a.NiH3669who liveהַיֹּשֵׁ֣בhai.yo.ShevH3427in the valleyהָעֵ֔מֶקha.'E.mekH6010landבְּאֶֽרֶץ־be.'e.retz-H776havechariotsוְרֶ֣כֶבve.Re.khevH7393of ironבַּרְזֶ֗לbar.ZelH1270,both those whoלַֽאֲשֶׁ֤רla.'a.SherH834are in Beth-sheanH1052and its townsוּבְנוֹתֶ֔יהָu.ve.no.Tei.haH1323and those whoוְלַֽאֲשֶׁ֖רve.la.'a.SherH834are in the valleyבְּעֵ֥מֶקbe.'E.mekH6010of Jezreelיִזְרְעֶֽאל׃yiz.re.'ElH3157.”
