6He hiredוַיִּשְׂכֹּ֣רvai.yis.KorH7936also 100,000מֵ֥אָה אֶ֛לֶףMe.'ah 'E.lefH3967 H505valiantחָ֖יִלCha.yilH2428warriorsגִּבּ֥וֹרgi.BorH1368out of Israelמִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗לmi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478for one hundredבְּמֵאָ֥הbe.me.'AhH3967talentsכִכַּר־khi.kar-H3603of silverכָּֽסֶף׃Ka.sefH3701.

7Buta manוְאִ֣ישׁve.'IshH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430cameבָּ֤אba'H935to him sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559, “O kingהַמֶּ֕לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,do not let the armyצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478goיָבֹ֥אya.Vo'H935with you, for the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068is not with Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478nor withanyכֹּ֖לkolH3605of the sonsבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Ephraimאֶפְרָֽיִם׃'ef.Ra.yimH669.

8But ifאִם־'im-H518you do goבֹּ֣אbo'H935,doעֲשֵׂ֖ה'a.SehH6213it,be strongחֲזַ֣קcha.ZakH2388for the battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֑הla.mil.cha.MahH4421; yetGodהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430willbringH3782you downH3782beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the enemyH340,for Godבֵּאלֹהִ֖יםbe.lo.HimH430hasיֶשׁ־yesh-H3426powerכֹּ֛חַKo.achH3581to helpלַעְז֥וֹרla'.ZorH5826and tobringH3782downH3782.”

9Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙'a.matz.Ya.huH558saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the manלְאִ֣ישׁle.'IshH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430, “But whatוּמַֽה־u.mah-H4100shall wedoלַּעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.sOtH6213for the hundredלִמְאַ֣תlim.'AtH3967talentsהַכִּכָּ֔רha.ki.KarH3603whichאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I have givenנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414to the troopsלִגְד֣וּדlig.DudH1416of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478?”And the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430answeredוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559, “The Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068hasיֵ֚שׁyeshH3426muchהַרְבֵּ֥הhar.BehH7235moreH7235to giveלָ֥תֶתLa.tetH5414you thanH4480thisמִזֶּֽה׃mi.ZehH2088.”

10Then Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֗הוּ'a.matz.Ya.huH558dismissedוַיַּבְדִּילֵ֣םvai.yav.di.LemH914them, the troopsלְהַגְּדוּד֙le.ha.ge.DudH1416whichאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834cameבָּ֤אba'H935to him from Ephraimמֵֽאֶפְרַ֔יִםme.'ef.Ra.yimH669,to goלָלֶ֖כֶתla.Le.khetH1980homeלִמְקוֹמָ֑םlim.ko.MamH4725;so their angerאַפָּ֤ם'a.PamH639burnedוַיִּ֨חַרvai.Yi.charH2734against Judahבִּֽיהוּדָ֔הbi.hu.DahH3063and they returnedוַיָּשׁ֥וּבוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725homeלִמְקוֹמָ֖םlim.ko.MamH4725in fierceבָּחֳרִי־bo.cho.ri-H2750angerאָֽף׃ פ'AfH639.

11Now Amaziahוַאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙va.'a.matz.Ya.huH558strengthenedהִתְחַזַּ֔קhit.cha.ZakH2388himself and ledH5090his peopleעַמּ֔וֹa.MoH5971forthH5090,and wentוַיֵּ֖לֶךְvai.Ye.lekhH1980tothe Valleyגֵּ֣יאgei'H1516of Saltהַמֶּ֑לַחha.Me.lachH4417and struckH5221downוַיַּ֥ךְvai.YakhH522110,000עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת אֲלָפִֽים׃'a.Se.ret 'a.la.FimH6235 H505of the sonsבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Seirשֵׂעִ֖ירse.'IrH8165.

12The sonsבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063also capturedשָׁבוּ֙sha.VuH761710,000וַעֲשֶׂ֨רֶת אֲלָפִ֜יםva.'a.Se.ret 'a.la.FimH6235 H505aliveחַיִּ֗יםchai.YimH2416and broughtוַיְבִיא֖וּםvay.vi.'UmH935them to the topלְרֹ֣אשׁle.RoshH7218of the cliffהַסָּ֑לַעha.Sa.la'H5553and threwH7993them downH7993from the topמֵֽרֹאשׁ־me.rosh-H7218of the cliffהַסֶּ֖לַעha.Se.la'H5553,so that they were allוְכֻלָּ֥םve.khu.LamH3605dashedH1234to piecesH1234.
