6He hiredוַיִּשְׂכֹּ֣רvai.yis.KorH7936also an hundredמֵ֥אָהMe.'ahH3967thousandאֶ֛לֶף'E.lefH505mightyגִּבּ֥וֹרgi.BorH1368men of valourחָ֖יִלCha.yilH2428out of Israelמִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֗לmi.Yis.ra.'ElH3478for an hundredבְּמֵאָ֥הbe.me.'AhH3967talentsכִכַּר־khi.kar-H3603of silverכָּֽסֶף׃Ka.sefH3701.

7But there cameבָּ֤אba'H935a manוְאִ֣ישׁve.'IshH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֗יםha.'E.lo.HimH430to him, sayingלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559,O kingהַמֶּ֕לֶךְha.Me.lekhH4428,let not the armyצְבָ֣אtze.Va'H6635of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478goיָבֹ֥אya.Vo'H935with thee; for the Lordיְהוָה֙Yah.wehH3068isnot with Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֔לYis.ra.'ElH3478, to wit, withall the childrenבְּנֵ֥יbe.NeiH1121of Ephraimאֶפְרָֽיִם׃'ef.Ra.yimH669.

8But if thou wilt goבֹּ֣אbo'H935,doעֲשֵׂ֖ה'a.SehH6213it,be strongחֲזַ֣קcha.ZakH2388for the battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֑הla.mil.cha.MahH4421:Godהָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ha.'E.lo.HimH430shall make thee fallיַכְשִֽׁילְךָ֤yakh.shi.le.KhaH3782beforeלִפְנֵ֣יlif.NeiH6440the enemyאוֹיֵ֔ב'o.YevH341:for Godבֵּאלֹהִ֖יםbe.lo.HimH430hathיֶשׁ־yesh-H3426powerכֹּ֛חַKo.achH3581to helpלַעְז֥וֹרla'.ZorH5826,and to cast downוּלְהַכְשִֽׁיל׃u.le.hakh.ShilH3782.

9And Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙'a.matz.Ya.huH558saidוַיֹּ֤אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to the manלְאִ֣ישׁle.'IshH376of Godהָאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430,But what shall we doלַּעֲשׂוֹת֙la.'a.sOtH6213for the hundredלִמְאַ֣תlim.'AtH3967talentsהַכִּכָּ֔רha.ki.KarH3603which I have givenנָתַ֖תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414to the armyלִגְד֣וּדlig.DudH1416of Israelיִשְׂרָאֵ֑לYis.ra.'ElH3478?And the manאִ֣ישׁ'ishH376of Godהָֽאֱלֹהִ֔יםha.'E.lo.HimH430answeredוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559,The Lordלַֽיהוָ֔הla.Yah.wehH3068isיֵ֚שׁyeshH3426able to giveלָ֥תֶתLa.tetH5414thee much moreהַרְבֵּ֥הhar.BehH7235than this.

10Then Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֗הוּ'a.matz.Ya.huH558separatedוַיַּבְדִּילֵ֣םvai.yav.di.LemH914them, to wit,the armyלְהַגְּדוּד֙le.ha.ge.DudH1416that was comeבָּ֤אba'H935to him out of Ephraimמֵֽאֶפְרַ֔יִםme.'ef.Ra.yimH669,to goH3212homeלִמְקוֹמָ֑םlim.ko.MamH4725againH3212:wherefore their angerאַפָּ֤ם'a.PamH639was greatlyמְאֹד֙me.'OdH3966kindledוַיִּ֨חַרvai.Yi.charH2734against Judahבִּֽיהוּדָ֔הbi.hu.DahH3063,and they returnedוַיָּשׁ֥וּבוּvai.ya.Shu.vuH7725homeלִמְקוֹמָ֖םlim.ko.MamH4725in greatבָּחֳרִי־bo.cho.ri-H2750angerאָֽף׃ פ'AfH639.

11And Amaziahוַאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙va.'a.matz.Ya.huH558strengthenedהִתְחַזַּ֔קhit.cha.ZakH2388himself, and led forthוַיִּנְהַג֙vai.yin.HagH5090his peopleעַמּ֔וֹa.MoH5971,and wentH3212to the valleyגֵּ֣יאgei'H1516of saltהַמֶּ֑לַחha.Me.lachH4417,and smoteוַיַּ֥ךְvai.YakhH5221of the childrenבְּנֵי־be.nei-H1121of Seirשֵׂעִ֖ירse.'IrH8165tenעֲשֶׂ֥רֶת'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִֽים׃'a.la.FimH505.

12And othertenוַעֲשֶׂ֨רֶתva.'a.Se.retH6235thousandאֲלָפִ֜ים'a.la.FimH505leftaliveחַיִּ֗יםchai.YimH2416did the childrenבְּנֵ֣יbe.NeiH1121of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063carry away captiveשָׁבוּ֙sha.VuH7617,and broughtוַיְבִיא֖וּםvay.vi.'UmH935them unto the topלְרֹ֣אשׁle.RoshH7218of the rockהַסָּ֑לַעha.Sa.la'H5553,and cast them downוַיַּשְׁלִיכ֛וּםvai.yash.li.KhumH7993from the topמֵֽרֹאשׁ־me.rosh-H7218of the rockהַסֶּ֖לַעha.Se.la'H5553,that they all were broken in piecesנִבְקָֽעוּ׃ סniv.Ka.'uH1234.

13But the soldiersוּבְנֵ֣יu.ve.NeiH1121of the armyהַגְּד֗וּדha.ge.DudH1416which Amaziahאֲמַצְיָ֙הוּ֙'a.matz.Ya.huH558sent backהֵשִׁ֤יבhe.ShivH7725,that they should not goH3212with him to battleלַמִּלְחָמָ֔הla.mil.cha.MahH4421,fellוַֽיִּפְשְׁטוּ֙vai.yif.she.TuH6584upon the citiesבְּעָרֵ֣יbe.'a.ReiH5892of Judahיְהוּדָ֔הye.hu.DahH3063,from Samariaמִשֹּׁמְר֖וֹןmi.sho.me.RonH8111even unto Beth–horonH1032,and smoteוַיַּכּ֤וּvai.ya.KuH5221threeשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁתshe.Lo.shetH7969thousandאֲלָפִ֔ים'a.la.FimH505of them, and tookוַיָּבֹ֖זּוּvai.ya.Vo.zuH962muchרַבָּֽה׃ סra.BahH7227spoilבִּזָּ֥הbi.ZahH961.
