17Meanwhile, Siseraוְסִֽיסְרָא֙ve.si.se.Ra'H5516had fledנָ֣סnasH5127on footבְּרַגְלָ֔יוbe.rag.LavH7272toאֶל־'el-H413the tentאֹ֣הֶל'O.helH168of Jaelיָעֵ֔לya.'ElH3278,the wifeאֵ֖שֶּׁת'E.shetH802of Heberחֶ֣בֶרChe.verH2268the Keniteהַקֵּינִ֑יha.kei.NiH7017,becauseכִּ֣יkiH3588there was peaceשָׁל֗וֹםsha.LomH7965betweenבֵּ֚יןbeinH996Jabinיָבִ֣יןya.VinH2985kingמֶֽלֶךְ־Me.lekh-H4428of Hazorחָצ֔וֹרcha.TzorH2674andוּבֵ֕יןu.VeinH996the houseבֵּ֖יתbeitH1004of Heberחֶ֥בֶרChe.verH2268the Keniteהַקֵּינִֽי׃ha.kei.NiH7017.

18Jaelיָעֵל֮ לִקְרַ֣אתya.'El lik.RatH3278 H7122went out to greetוַתֵּצֵ֣אva.te.Tze'H3318Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֒si.se.Ra'H5516and saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to himאֵלָ֗יו'e.LavH413, “Come inסוּרָ֧הsu.RahH5493,my lordאֲדֹנִ֛י'a.do.NiH113.Come inסוּרָ֥הsu.RahH5493with meאֵלַ֖י'e.LaiH413.Do notאַל־'al-H408be afraidתִּירָ֑אti.Ra'H3372.”So he enteredוַיָּ֤סַר אֵלֶ֙יהָ֙vai.Ya.sar 'e.Lei.haH5493 H413her tentהָאֹ֔הֱלָהha.'O.he.lahH168,and she covered himוַתְּכַסֵּ֖הוּva.te.kha.Se.huH3680with a blanketבַּשְּׂמִיכָֽה׃ba.se.mi.KhahH8063.

19Siserasaidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559to herאֵלֶ֛יהָ'e.Lei.haH413, “Pleaseנָ֥אna'H4994give me a littleמְעַט־me.'at-H4592waterמַ֖יִםMa.yimH4325to drinkהַשְׁקִינִי־hash.ki.ni-H8248,forכִּ֣יkiH3588I am thirstyצָמֵ֑אתִיtza.Me.tiH6770.”So she openedוַתִּפְתַּ֞חva.tif.TachH6605אֶת־'et-H853a containerנֹ֧אודNodH4997of milkהֶחָלָ֛בhe.cha.LavH2461,gave him a drinkוַתַּשְׁקֵ֖הוּva.tash.Ke.huH8248,and covered him againוַתְּכַסֵּֽהוּ׃va.te.kha.Se.huH3680.

20“Standעֲמֹ֖ד'a.ModH5975at the entranceפֶּ֣תַחPe.tachH6607to the tentהָאֹ֑הֶלha.'O.helH168,”he saidוַיֹּ֣אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559אֵלֶ֔יהָ'e.Lei.haH413, “andוְהָיָה֩ve.ha.YahH1961ifאִם־'im-H518anyoneאִ֨ישׁ'ishH376comesיָב֜וֹאya.Vo'H935and asks youוּשְׁאֵלֵ֗ךְu.she.'e.LekhH7592, ‘Is thereהֲיֵֽשׁ־ha.yesh-H3426a manוְאָמַ֛ר אִ֖ישׁve.'a.Mar 'ishH376 H559hereפֹּ֥הpohH6311?’sayוְאָמַ֥רְתְּve.'a.MartH559, ‘Noאָֽיִן׃'A.yinH369.’”

21But as heוְהֽוּא־ve.hu'-H1931lay sleepingנִרְדָּ֥םnir.DamH7290from exhaustionוַיָּ֖עַףvai.Ya.'afH5888,Heber’sחֶ֠בֶרChe.verH2268אֶת־'et-H853wifeאֵֽשֶׁת־'e.shet-H802Jaelיָעֵ֣לya.'ElH3278tookוַתִּקַּ֣חva.ti.KachH3947a tentהָאֹ֜הֶלha.'O.helH168pegיְתַ֨דye.TadH3489,grabbedוַתָּ֧שֶׂםva.Ta.semH7760אֶת־'et-H853a hammerהַמַּקֶּ֣בֶת בְּיָדָ֗הּha.ma.Ke.vet be.ya.DahH4718 H3027,and wentוַתָּב֤וֹאva.ta.Vo'H935silentlyבַּלָּ֔אטba.LatH3814to Siseraאֵלָיו֙'e.LavH413.She droveוַתִּתְקַ֤עva.tit.Ka'H8628אֶת־'et-H853the pegהַיָּתֵד֙hai.ya.TedH3489through his templeבְּרַקָּת֔וֹbe.ra.ka.ToH7541andוַתִּצְנַ֖חva.titz.NachH6795into the groundבָּאָ֑רֶץba.'A.retzH776,and he diedוַיָּמֹֽת׃vai.ya.MotH4191.

22וְהִנֵּ֣הve.hi.NehH2009When Barakבָרָק֮va.RakH1301arrived in pursuit ofרֹדֵ֣ףro.DefH7291אֶת־'et-H853Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֒si.se.Ra'H5516,Jaelיָעֵל֙ya.'ElH3278went outוַתֵּצֵ֤אva.te.Tze'H3318to greet himלִקְרָאת֔וֹlik.ra.ToH7122and saidוַתֹּ֣אמֶרva.To.merH559to him, “Comeלֵ֣ךְlekhH1980,and I will show youוְאַרְאֶ֔ךָּve.'ar.'E.kaH7200אֶת־'et-H853the manהָאִ֖ישׁha.'IshH376אֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834youאַתָּ֣ה'a.TahH859are seekingמְבַקֵּ֑שׁme.va.KeshH1245.”So he went inוַיָּבֹ֣אvai.ya.Vo'H935with herאֵלֶ֔יהָ'e.Lei.haH413,and thereוְהִנֵּ֤הve.hi.NehH2009layנֹפֵ֣לno.FelH5307Siseraסִֽיסְרָא֙si.se.Ra'H5516deadמֵ֔תMetH4191,with a tent pegוְהַיָּתֵ֖דve.hai.ya.TedH3489through his templeבְּרַקָּתֽוֹ׃be.ra.ka.ToH7541.
