18“Notלֹא־lo'-H3808soכֵ֣ןkhenH3651,my fatherאָבִ֖יו'a.VivH1!”Josephיוֹסֵ֛ףyo.SefH3130saidוַיֹּ֧אמֶרvai.Yo.merH559אֶל־'el-H413אָבִ֑י'a.ViH1כִּי־ki-H3588. “Thisזֶ֣הzehH2088one is the firstbornהַבְּכֹ֔רha.be.KhorH1060;putשִׂ֥יםsimH7760your right handיְמִינְךָ֖ye.mi.ne.KhaH3225onעַל־'al-H5921his headרֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ro.ShoH7218.”
19But his fatherאָבִ֗יו'a.VivH1refusedוַיְמָאֵ֣ןvay.ma.'EnH3985. “I knowיָדַ֤עְתִּֽיya.Da'.tiH3045,my sonבְנִי֙ve.NiH1121,I knowיָדַ֔עְתִּיya.Da'.tiH3045!”he saidוַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙vai.Yo.merH559. “Heה֥וּאhu'H1931tooגַּם־gam-H1571shall becomeיִֽהְיֶה־yih.yeh-H1961a peopleלְּעָ֖םle.'AmH5971,and heה֣וּאhu'H1931tooוְגַם־ve.gam-H1571shall be greatיִגְדָּ֑לyig.DalH1431;neverthelessוְאוּלָ֗םve.'u.LamH199,his youngerהַקָּטֹן֙ha.ka.TonH6996brotherאָחִ֤יו'a.ChivH251shall be greaterיִגְדַּ֣לyig.DalH1431than heמִמֶּ֔נּוּmi.Me.nuH4480,and his offspringוְזַרְע֖וֹve.zar.'OH2233shall becomeיִהְיֶ֥הyih.YehH1961a multitudeמְלֹֽא־me.lo'-H4393of nationsהַגּוֹיִֽם׃ha.go.YimH1471.”
20So that dayבַּיּ֣וֹםbai.YomH3117Jacobblessedוַיְבָ֨רֲכֵ֜םvay.Va.ra.KhemH1288themהַהוּא֮ha.Hu'H1931and saidלֵאמוֹר֒le.mOrH559: “By youshall Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478pronounceלֵאמֹ֔רle.MorH559this blessingיְבָרֵ֤ךְye.va.RekhH1288: ‘May Godאֱלֹהִ֔ים'E.lo.HimH430makeיְשִֽׂמְךָ֣ye.sim.KhaH7760you like Ephraimכְּאֶפְרַ֖יִםke.'ef.Ra.yimH669and Manassehוְכִמְנַשֶּׁ֑הve.khim.na.ShehH4519.’”So he putוַיָּ֥שֶׂםvai.Ya.semH7760אֶת־'et-H853Ephraimאֶפְרַ֖יִם'ef.Ra.yimH669beforeלִפְנֵ֥יlif.NeiH6440Manassehמְנַשֶּֽׁה׃me.na.ShehH4519.
