9After Jacob had returnedבְּבֹא֖וֹbe.vo.'OH935fromמִפַּדַּ֣ןmi.pa.DanH6307Paddan-aramאֲרָ֑ם'a.RamH758,Godאֱלֹהִ֤ים'E.lo.HimH430appearedוַיֵּרָ֨אvai.ye.Ra'H7200toאֶֽל־'el-H413himיַעֲקֹב֙ya.'a.KoH3290againע֔וֹדodH5750and blessedוַיְבָ֖רֶךְvay.Va.rekhH1288himאֹתֽוֹ׃'o.ToH853.

10And Godאֱלֹהִ֖ים'E.lo.HimH430saidוַיֹּֽאמֶר־vai.yo.mer-H559to him, “Thoughyour nameשִׁמְךָ֣shim.KhaH8034is Jacobיַעֲקֹ֑בya.'a.KoH3290,you will noלֹֽא־lo'-H3808longerע֜וֹדodH5750be calledיִקָּרֵא֩ שִׁמְךָ֙yi.ka.Re' shim.KhaH7121 H8034Jacobיַעֲקֹ֗בya.'a.KoH3290.Insteadכִּ֤י אִם־ki 'im-H3588 H518,your nameשְׁמֶ֔ךָshe.Me.khaH8034will beיִהְיֶ֣הyih.YehH1961Israelיִשְׂרָאֵל֙Yis.ra.'ElH3478.”So God namedוַיִּקְרָ֥אvai.yik.Ra'H7121אֶת־'et-H853himשְׁמ֖וֹshe.MoH8034Israelיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Yis.ra.'ElH3478.

11And Godאֱלֹהִ֜ים'E.lo.HimH430toldוַיֹּאמֶר֩vai.yo.MerH559him, “Iאֲנִ֨י'a.NiH589am Godאֵ֤ל'elH410Almightyשַׁדַּי֙sha.DaiH7706.Be fruitfulפְּרֵ֣הpe.RehH6509and multiplyוּרְבֵ֔הu.re.VehH7235.A nationגּ֛וֹיGoyH1471—even a companyוּקְהַ֥לu.ke.HalH6951of nationsגּוֹיִ֖םgo.YimH1471—shall comeיִהְיֶ֣הyih.YehH1961from youמִמֶּ֑ךָּmi.Me.kaH4480,and kingsוּמְלָכִ֖יםu.me.la.KhimH4428shall descendיֵצֵֽאוּ׃ye.Tze.'uH3318from youמֵחֲלָצֶ֥יךָme.cha.la.Tzei.khaH2504.

12וְאֶת־ve.'EtH853The landהָאָ֗רֶץha.'A.retzH776thatאֲשֶׁ֥ר'a.SherH834I gaveנָתַ֛תִּיna.Ta.tiH5414to Abrahamלְאַבְרָהָ֥םle.'av.ra.HamH85and Isaacוּלְיִצְחָ֖קu.le.yitz.ChakH3327I will giveאֶתְּנֶ֑נָּה'et.te.Ne.nahH5414to you,and I will giveאֶתֵּ֥ן'e.TenH5414אֶת־'et-H853this landהָאָֽרֶץ׃ha.'A.retzH776to your descendantsוּֽלְזַרְעֲךָ֥u.le.zar.'a.KhaH2233after youאַחֲרֶ֖יךָ'a.cha.Rei.khaH310.”

13Then Godאֱלֹהִ֑ים'E.lo.HimH430went upוַיַּ֥עַלvai.Ya.'alH5927fromמֵעָלָ֖יוme.'a.LavH5921the placeבַּמָּק֖וֹםba.ma.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834He had spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696with himאִתּֽוֹ׃'i.ToH854.

14So Jacobיַעֲקֹ֜בya.'a.KoH3290set upוַיַּצֵּ֨בvai.ya.TzevH5324a pillarמַצֵּבָ֗הma.tze.VahH4676in the placeבַּמָּק֛וֹםba.ma.KomH4725whereאֲשֶׁר־'a.Sher-H834Godhad spokenדִּבֶּ֥רdi.BerH1696with himאִתּ֖וֹ'i.ToH854—a stoneאָ֑בֶן'A.venH68markerמַצֶּ֣בֶתma.Tze.vetH4678—and he poured outוַיַּסֵּ֤ךְvai.ya.SekhH5258a drink offeringנֶ֔סֶךְNe.sekhH5262on itעָלֶ֙יהָ֙'a.Lei.haH5921and anointed itוַיִּצֹ֥ק עָלֶ֖יהָvai.yi.Tzok 'a.Lei.haH3332 H5921with oilשָֽׁמֶן׃Sha.menH8081.
